Hi Rosemary. I remember you and "Birtha" back in 1969-70. I played with a band called "Faces" with Jimmy Perez on bass and Tony Dean Eisenbarger on guitar. I also worked with Bobby Cochran. This was mostly around the beach area. We played the "Cave" in Huntington Beach for most of 1969. I love all of your work from back then to now. I have had a pretty good career and have worked with a few of the folks you've worked with. I think it's awesome that you have had great success. You have a great attitude about what you do. And you're right it's all about sharing. I'm proud of you and the work you have done on behalf of music. This world is a better place with you in it. With Love and Regards. Take care. Oscar Vildosola. I'm still singing and playing drums. Life has been real good to me. Take care out there.

LOVED her in Birtha - saw them many times in the early 70's. THe problem with that band is that every single member was an absolute stellar rocket-to-the-moon star. How could they keep it together? Still, I was sad to see them split up. After learning about band-mate Shele Pinizotto's untimely death, I am going down memory lane and was happy to see this video! So glad to see Rosemary continued to have success. All those girls sure "deserved" it.

You are marvelous💞 I found this vid by getting a random 1967 American Bandsrand dance contest vid with Olivia "Liver" Favela as one of the contestants. Then that led me to your cool rock band Birtha...then I read more about you so that led me to this cool mini documentary. I do hope all the ladies from Birtha are still with us, and if some have left this earth; may they rest in peace.💖

One of my favorite musical moments is when the voice comes on during Jackson Browne's "Stay a little bit longer" and asks, why don't you stay..." It absolutely rips my heart out. Now I know it belongs to this great singer..Rosemary, and I can say to her: Thank you!! a million times thank you.

This was great. A particularly fond memory I'll always have was seeing a show - my first, at 5 or 6 years old - on the Running on Empty tour in New Haven, CT and meeting you, Jackson, and Doug backstage beforehand. Strangely enough, I can't remember if it was Russ or Jim Gordon on drums. I think it was Russ. Anyway, good times. Have been a fan ever since.

Rosemary, When i was a freshman in high school, my oldest brother bought home Jackson Browne's "Running On Empty" album home and played it in our bedroom stereo. While we were listening to it(Frank was bound and determined not to let his little brothers grow up listening to just The Bee Gees), I was looking at the album cover and instantly developed a school boy's crush on you. I loved seeing you in the "No Nukes" movie and whenever you sang with Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor and whoever else. Nice to see you recorded some of your own music.

I recently watched the No Nukes YT video of “What A Fool Believes”. Your voice performance in that song was a pretty compliment to Michael McDonald. Then I saw you singing with Jackson Browne and I realized that was your voice rising with “running on empty, running blind!” that I had listened to for so many years. I liked your songs in this video that were enjoyed by music lovers especially in Japan (an endearing country), so I’ll have to check out your album that’s on the music service I use. Thanks for sharing your journey in this video. 🙂

Me and you both Brother. I saw her at a converted Super Market with 400 people in fall of 1970. San Diego. I got to walk right up front and just stare at here thumping that lefty Bass. I finally understood why girls followed guy groups around. She was so hot and that voice Birtha was really a great group. Glad to see she really did do well.
@BigSCTVfan5 жыл бұрын
mikie Rick Yeah, I’m way too young to have seen Birtha perform live. Sadly wish I could have. Birtha was long gone when I was born. Let’s be honest, she looked epic with her flowing blond hair, monster voice, and what I consider iconic left-handed rose bass. Oh well, she had to change with the times, I suppose. Too bad she seemed to quit playing bass on records after 1973! The hard rock trend could have kept her going for decades. It’s also a shame Birtha broke up in 1975. Perhaps their record label folding had something to do with the band ending, but it’s a shame Birtha couldn’t have lasted. They had the songs.

She is a true rock n’ roll chameleon, going with the flow and changing her appearance for the appropriate audience. Must admit I preferred her hard rock Birtha period over all the others, but she’s great at reinventing herself. You can tell she’s doing what she loves, and what’s better than that?

I remember her voice, soaring over the band on Jackson Browne's music in the late 70s, and Doug Haywood also belting out great vocals. I've hear Rosemary Butler on so many things, and she one of the few "backup" singers who you instantly recognize. I respectfully have to disagree with her though: If I had seen her in her all-female band back then, I would have been in love.

Rosemary: Now you are definitely the perfect pretty one (TO ME)! If you aren't the best looking girl ever to play rock 'n' roll then I don't know who is? Maybe Jean Millington?? On the other hand you all were so much heavier than Fanny. Kind of like an all-girl version of Mountain (if you will)! However being the sweaty wild one isn't bad either (as most guys probably like girls that sweat a lot!) but I just wanted to point out how pretty you are to me!! I never really looked at bands as being either all male or all female? I only looked at them as to whether or not you liked their music. I do really like the idea though of an all-girl band having nothing but guy groupies as that's usually so rare in music!!
