Now 17 year old Chelsea, on the other hand, makes the 17 year me I remember being, seem as though I was at the extreme end of the autism spectrum, both developmentally and verbally challenged, and should have been in special ed. She's like a poster child for the representation of what a mature, well adjusted young adult should strive for. She comes a Ross as an all around fine person. Well, no, it’s also genetics. Also, you can be the best parent , if the other parent (spouse) isn’t. Siblings can get the same amount of love, support, and attention, but turn out completely different because of genetics, and because they have two parents with different genes. I am convinced that narcissistic personality disorder is genetic, for example. I have seen adopted kids turn out exactly like their biological parents despite all the love and care they received from their non-biological parents. Their siblings (also adopted by the same people, different biological parents), turned out fine. I don’t know however, how old they were when they got adopted which is also a factor.

That’s why many teenagers want to leave home after graduating from High school. Some friction is normal, otherwise young adults would never move out of their parents house. I think that what was reported is a legitimate text that a mother would send a daughter wanting her to really think about publicizing her struggles (what was shown by the media did not constituted a threat). At the same time, Rosie should never call her daughter damaged. She should rise to the occasion and be the bigger person. Responding and allowing an argument to escalate is something an adult who is levelheaded should not participate in. Even if one is hurt. It's a very sad situation and I wish them both the very best. I didn't even know Rosie had a daughter. I thought she was into women only. Makes you wonder why God let's people that do not care to be a good parent to their child, have children. While others that would make a wonderful parent, can not have a child.

Rosie ADOPTED Chelsea. It's not her birth daughter. And she was still a lesbian when she adopted her. She talked about it all the time if you ever watched her show in the late 90s.

Have you ever had a teenager who rebels big time. Her mom did heroin and maybe it wasn't in the girl's system, but this will affect her big time. Raising a teenager like this can break a parent. Who do you think encouraged her to talk to Inside Edition? Her birth mother. Money is tempting.
