Gold equities have disappointed the investor for a long term for a variety of reasons and people are just so fed up with it. In the mean time, foreign central banks are buying gold (not gold stocks or ETF) and Asians are buying gold and most cannot buy gold equities. There are also more government stealing from mining companies and it is looking to get worse. I think some equities might normalize against gold but not all.

Old video, and he was wrong. Gold equities have still tanked in 2024. And there’s an underlying reason. First, miner input costs have increased significantly cutting into their margins. Secondly, the corporate bosses have stripped out the earnings into their own pockets. And thirdly, the tail wags the dog. The FED via dark pools has a huge short position on the miners, using them to keep a lid on gold and support the dollar. See if you can change that.!

Barrick is definitely worth a long term hold. I've been in your position but they are well positioned in the future with the reko deq mine. I think they should be valued much higher since gold prices have gone up 30%. They aren't some junior miner that's going to go bankrupt anytime soon and they pay a small dividend that you can reinvest for bigger earnings.
