Rotsun Bloopers and Outtakes! - Roadkill Extra

Roadkill episode 64 featured the revival of the Rotsun, the 1971 Datsun 240Z that had a turbo V6 before it was stepped up with a rippin’ turbo Ford 5.0. Hosts Freiburger and Finnegan had a lot of fun building and thrashing the car, and in this Roadkill Extra you’ll see a bunch of laughs and fumbles that didn’t make it into the final episode of the show.

I'd argue that Mad Max is more of a car movie than you're giving it credit for (opens with a car chase... then there's another chase not long after with that awful Impala, .then loads of motorcycle chases, etc). Either way, if you're a car and you haven't seen Mad Max, there's something wrong with you. If nothing else, Mad Max movie cars are still making car show circuit appearances today (I've seen 2 of them on display) so some curiosity should have been sparked ages ago. Especially since Fury Road came out recently and was a massive hit. I also prefer Two Lane Blacktop as far as "car" movies go, but Mad Max is a MUCH better "movie" overall. TLB is almost unwatchably bad outside of the awesome car scenes and some horribly delivered one liners, mostly made by "GTO".

I want Freiburger and Finnegan commentary track for Mad Max. No! For all car related movies :P

In the Fox bodies defense the Rotsun is like 2400lbs and boosted, the Fox body is mildly worked and about 3200lbs and obviously clapped out. Super glad to see the Rotsun back though.

Yes, but I don't think the dubbed version is very popular as I've never actually seen it that way (maybe way back when it was shown on broadcast TV back when the networks would show major movies a few years after the theaters?). The US dub was the original soundtrack that was released in US theaters, where it got a VERY limited release (mostly in drive-in theaters that didn't show many A-list movies). FWIW, Mad Max was one of the first DVDs I ever bought when I got a player in the late '90s and my US region DVD has the proper, Australian, soundtrack. I've never researched it, but I'm pretty sure my DVD is the original manufacturing run since I had to order it (and the entire franchise) from a specialty DVD shop at the time. Mad Max wasn't even carried by mainstream stores back then. So... These days I think the majority of US viewers have only ever seen the _correct_ soundtrack.

fords only have radiator leaking problems and you typically have to redo the whole cooling system on the gen 8 fseries just redid mine and it was all 30 years old
