Roadkill has been a great show but MTOD is killing it for me. I did the one month free trial and got a month ahead and watched all the content that was not on KZbin, but it wasnt enough to convince me its worth it for average fans to pay for. Roadkill Extra is okay but not worth the commitment if thats all youre interested in. RoadKill Garage is the real reason to watch MTOD. Roadkill Garage is great, but I think needs renamed since there's no Finnegan and it just has a different feel than Roadkill. Dulcich and Freiburger have great chemistry on screen and do very interesting projects and I love the setting in farmland California, but its not Roadkill to me. Mike living on the East Coast now doesnt make anything easier either for the Roadkill team, but thankfully he uploads some of his own vids on his personal channel.

Roadkill garage deserves its name. It's a great show with similar content (but in a garage) and 50% of the cast. If mike ever left roadkill, steve would be a great stand in. Folks need to stop pissing themselves over nothing. Roadkill extra has people like lucky, steve etc hosting all the time. Better change the name! Motor trend on demand is why i never have any data. Worth every cent.

Answer to the first question for the axle on the '75 Valiant: Ford Explorer. They're about 1.5" too wide, but put a car offset rim on the back (I used rims for a 350Z) and you're set. $150 and I've got a limited slip 8.8" rear end with disc brakes. For an added bonus, with some modification the Explorer's rear leaves will fit on the Valiant too!

Calm down children, if you don't want MTOD then how about you just DONT PAY FOR IT. It's that simple. Don't want it? Don't watch it, and don't run your mouth. All of your whiny comments on every MT video are annoying. MT is the one KZbin channel that ACTUALLY PROVIDES GOOD CONTENT both FREE and PAID. Their paid content is great and worth the cheap price, their free content is great too and costs you literally nothing. Yet you still complain, not everything can be free, the cost to make content must come from somewhere. Most of you are probably 15 year olds that don't understand how money works yet.
@purplehazeffc7 жыл бұрын
The best reply ever. I don't understand how people think they deserve the content they make for Free...
@zososldier7 жыл бұрын
They deserve it for free because this channel gets monetization from youtube, sponsors for the show like dodge, money from netflix, free publicity for their own magazines, their product line that sells shirts, and free products like optima. Adding MToD adds a 5th/6th/7th way to make money on something they already monetize.
@zososldier7 жыл бұрын
The power block on spike TV has ~10 shows that release content regularly with the same quality yet the only thing the consumer pays for is their cable. They also have full access to all episodes on their website. There is a difference between making money and scalping people.
@YZ-YZ-7 жыл бұрын
adam courtney Powerblock is also owned by Raycom Media, a huge media provider that easily has enough money to cover overhead costs. Motor Trend is not as large as you think it is, why else do you think they do monthly programs instead of weekly? They're simply being smart and utilizing MTOD as an effective way to make profit on a platform they already had access to. They're still giving you free stuff at the end of the day. But that isn't enough is it? You'll still find some way to justify getting more stuff for free.

Currently its colors are flat black primer an surface rust on top that gives her over all body a sweet patina. The previous owner paid 500 bucks fer it an robbed the drivetrain an rear axle. The 6x6 doesn't do burnouts, but one of the best things ever was the Willys rescue, which was just great tech and banter followed by climbing shit. The 6x6 only makes 120-140hp on variant, but also 360-400 ft lbs of torque. Little waste gate pressure tinkering and the thing pulls down the mountain instead of climbing it. I think it'd be a great episode.

Freiburger I completely agree with your answer on the engines. Something happened to my 96 Geo Metro LSI in the engine, pretty sure it is a valve train issue but anyway, I took the engine apart while it was still in the car till all I had left was the block and the crankshaft. Then I took a tow strap wrapped it around twice and while my brother held the tow strap, I unbolted the G13B block from the transmission and the engine mount and because of the awkwardness of it, I ended up jumping onto the bumper of my metro, taking the strap from my brother and pulling the engine just enough that it cleared the CV axle and I was able put it gently on the ground and roll it under the front of the car. It is one of many steps I am taking to learn about cars in my free time outside of my Automotive Tech classes. Currently the block is completely taken apart on my bench and I am waiting for more money to come in so that I can put new bearings in and re-ring the pistons as well as rebuild the entirety of the head in my automotive classes this Fall. There is nothing better than hands on experience in my opinion. Wish me luck! However I do disagree on which automotive engine to rebuild. I would say that the easiest engine to rebuild would be a 3 cylinder G10 Suzuki engine. There is a lot of information and parts available and it is lightweight if you don't have an engine hoist or stand, especially if you are just beginning to learn.

No, that would be fine and dandy, but then they just forgot about KZbin, and just used it as a marketing scheme. We used to be able to see these shows for free, but now they show us just the extra shows and crap that I wouldn't expect on the KZbin page. What I am saying is I want to see what I used to see(the regular show, every month, like it was) then I would expect the 'extra' shows and what not to be on the on demand page. Some people just can't find themselves to pay that extra money a month, 5$ may not seem like much to you, but for seem people it is, especially after we pay 100$ to use the internet every month lol kinda seem stupid for me to say that 5$ is too much, when I literally just threw in the internet bill, but whatever, also some people can't pay for internet and maybe they use a friends or public place or something....idk I think you catch my drift mate...anyway, my main problem with the demand is how much they cram it down our throats in every video they upload, I mean seriously, we get it...throw an advert here and there, but every video, dang...
@TheBrokenLife6 жыл бұрын
Just an FYI to the rear axle guy in the first question: Having a rear end professionally narrowed is actually shockingly affordable. Moser quoted me something like $150 to make my 8.8" any width I wanted and like another $150 to put 9" ends on it. Re-splining factory axles and cutting them down was like another $50/ea. So... $250 to have it narrowed to anything I want, professionally in an alignment jig and all of that jazz, by one of the best known racing axle builders in the business. So... Buying whatever you want and paying to make it fit is really not that bad.

there's no more free roadkill is there?
@dieselman8v9237 жыл бұрын
Yes there is lol. This is roadkill extra that is everyday on MToD. Its simply a free episode. I don't know why everyone is so easily confused.

Sean S is your cat okay? I can replace your toaster for you so the toast only tastes like toast instead of pee

That Toretto charger in the back though. That's the best looking 68 I have ever seen.

No. He's a Nelson Racing Engines warehouse.

me, my uncle, and grampa learned that a body mopar 8 1/4” had about an inch or two length difference compared to a b body rear end and it had a 440 in a b body cordoba so it went and broke the axle twice and it had the a body diff in it and we tried just putting the bbody axle in it the abody diff

Why don't you use the 68 charger in the background? It looks like it's in better condition than the general mayhem.

@theclicker7 жыл бұрын
Yes you are, those are way too expensive for Roadkill.
@tusdomestic74487 жыл бұрын
Naah they aint that expensive

They could always get a cheap Sc300 or GS300 with the 2JZ-GE wich are pretty cheap. Then boost it or whatever.

Elving Lindqvist yeah but the ge isnt the same as a gte, gte will hold much much much more power with stock internals

10:00 I fucking LOVED that episode. The roadkill car having trouble and you all working on it when they got there was so classic and I loved that chopped up STI with the straight pipes on it and the turbo just sticking out of the hood. My favorite part was the MCM guys saying they've never been in anything with so much torque in their lives x'DD

You did good here... but my burning question is: Why do you look SO bothered when dealing with fans... you always have this look of “why the f*ck do I still have to do this” Don’t forget who made you David... it’s us.. the fans..
@rustonwheels30647 жыл бұрын
regarding the first question about the rear-end. You said, for overall width compensation within a specific range, it could be done be choosing related rim backspacing. no doubt about that. but won't you then still face problems with leafspring mounting locations?

I enjoy Motor trend road kill but don't think that they are established enough to try and charge for motor trend on demand.
@Serps-ii9zc7 жыл бұрын
You probably right, the show they've been doing for 5 years that's essentially just recording stuff the Magazines have been doing for 50+ years isn't established enough.....
@chuckdavis5727 жыл бұрын
They should put together subscription "bundles" for those of us who (for example) want the roadkill print magazine PLUS motortrend on demand and or motortrend magazine.
@MellowYe77ow7 жыл бұрын
They did that when MTOD was first introduced. However, they dropped those plans and are now charging less for MTOD.

I remember an artist named George Trosley who did Car Toons magazine many years ago.....in my opinion he should be credited with the “ratty muscle car” look, as well as low profile tires! That’s where I first seen those styles.
