Tends to be what is going on. Any country that says it's low in a certain amount of crime probably just doesn't consider all the variations of that crime a crime. Like how marital r- isn't considered a crime in many countries, and wasn't even one in America until very recently. I remember reading about how one of the nordic countries has a particularly high amount of sex crimes. But it turns out it's caused because they actually try more cases and consider more types illegal - such as coercion or lying about using protection being a crime. It's the kind of place you should want. No place has few or no r- happening. You want to be the place where they actually consider it illegal and take it to court.

The movement is hijacked by the same autogenophiles who usually cause the abuse, in the first place! Now they're women, and of course they should as women, have access to our most vulnerable's spaces! The freaks follow their victims, no matter where they go! We can see the evidence of evil all around us. The predators usually follow their victims, while crying of oppression, so they can rape, rob, and completely dehumanize their chosen victims. To be frank I don't think South Korea knows what its own age of consent is right now. Google reports anything from 13 to 16 and even 20 for consent. Also if you ask it 'at what age do you come of age in South Korea?' it reports 18 years old. So the age of consent could be as low as 13 or as high as 20, but you're an adult under the law at 18. The phrase "age is just a number" never felt more accurate. What a mess. For real with this in mind how would you define a "child" under South Korean law? How are people in countries with this issue meant to date or marry at all? How do they know when they ask for ye old ASL (age sex location) that the person they're trying to get with is actually acceptable for them to pursue a relationship with? Japan has the same problem. They spent 300 years with the population coming of age at 20 years old, and changed it to 18 circa Late 2022 and Mid 2023. And their age of consent was 13 between 1907 and 2023 at which point it was changed to 16. Somehow they expect the population to change their mentality on the normal they conditioned them into over the course of centuries overnight right now, completely ignoring that humans don't work like that.

@@sylviadelaney245what? Age of consent if for sex but im pretty sure between plp the same age. Not a 30 yo man
@sylviadelaney2456 ай бұрын
@@user-sg4ov7ng4h No. Age of consent can be for anything from having s3x to marrying. For the later some countries require the parents of the younger person in the pair that will wed to give their permission/blessing, but some have no requirement at all allowing grown men (or grown women) to p-r-e-y on young girls or boys. PS: Part of why age of consent can be as low as 13 on average (it can and has been even lower in especially underdeveloped countries) has to do with 10 years of age being when many cultures consider someone capable of knowing both right from wrong and being able to decide for themself what they want. This is rooted in partial truths from a historical standpoint, but it clashes with present day thought process on how humans mentally and emotionally mature vs how they mature physically and biologically. The former is the same kind of status quo of ages past that resulted in the youngest female pregnancy (age 4, gave birth at 5; the father was speculated to be way older than 30 though his identity remains unknown, and I'm sorry if that hurts your sanity). I'm not joking you can Wikipedia it. The mother in question is still alive (aged 90 today). Also for context as horrifying as the fact is that she became pregnant and gave birth while that young is not considered to be normal thing. It's one of only around 12 documented cases throughout history of pregnancy and childbirth happening due to a girl having gone through precocious puberty (incredibly early puberty). The woman in question is from Peru. Meanwhile countries who have much higher age of consent (16+) have such an age of consent due to present day thought process, influenced heavily by studies done between the 1960s and 1990s. Age of majority/age of adulthood is by contrast more about things like when you can drive with a license (which means 24/7) instead of with a permit (which comes with curfew limitations), as well as when you can legally smoke and drink, and when you can be held fully (as opposed to partially) accountable for possession or use of drugs that are either illegal or require a prior authorization with details for why the drug(s) is/are necessary for the patient from a physician. Also before cars were invented age of majority was also when women interested in serving their country via their military that allowed women to fight would first be considered for enrollment if there was no war going on that was going so poorly that they had no choice but to send women to the front lines to support the men. And it was also historically the age at which women who were educated could have governance related influence (not voting necessarily, but voicing opinions and being taken seriously on some level rather than immediately having their opinions dismissed as coming from the dumber of the two s3xes).

As someone who spent time in Korea, i have a lot of thoughts. The sheer disdain towards women, especially korean women, is insane. Theyre shamed for reading literature about feminism, even. The shame culture is so brutal, your life is over even if someone leaks a pic of your chest. So much of this could have been prevented if society was more caring about victims and lived less in outdated shaming culture. Could you imagine living in a society that is so brutal to victims you'd rather mutilate your body than go to the police because your life would literally be over? That your family would even potentially disown you? I was aware of checking for cameras in my room, but even when i went to a public bathroom there were SO many holes in the walls that had been stuffed with toilet paper. One stall i went to i will never forget, i was commuting and needed the bathroom so i went to one at a station. There were around 10 holes, stuffed with paper, circled with black marker. Arrows drawn to point to some of them. Messages were written in korean, english, Japanese, and various other languages. On the door, when you looked up from sitting on the toilet, a huge message read in English (along the lines of my memory, this was in 2018): 'Girls, we only have each other. We need to protect each other, no matter where we are from.' And beneath it 'Girls, let's stick together.' Around this, were messages of love and support. Korean women primarily, from what i could understand of all the writing around the stall, were writing in as many languages as possible to protect women. Even though korean women suffer the most there, they wanted to protect women no matter where they were from. It still makes me emotional to this day. I hope one day things will be safer and fairer for them. In korea, korean women are less safe and have less rights than any other nationality visiting. Laws need to be changed, and so does society.

It is a world problem, but these particular cases are also heavily reflect a South Korean problem. Because SK is a globally connected, highly technologically advanced, country with a lot of old fashioned rules and thinking. There are so many ‘If’s in this case that are unique to South Korea that allowed it to continue and not involve higher crimes like kidnapping or holding someone against their will, which could prevent these monsters and watchers from doing these things. Plus the ‘alpha male’ mentality has been going strong for them for a while because women want to have the same rights and societal freedom they see from women in other countries, but their laws and pressures don’t keep up with that. There is so much SK can do in reflection here, especially when election season comes around, for the sake of their most vulnerable population.

@@Slaaneshy_Concubine I’m thinking more the second one, but there’s also an issue of softening language can also make the victims dwell on and get stuck on what happened to them as it’s being downplayed by language softening. I personally have been a victim of sexual and physical violence and on going abuse which lasted 16 years and I’ve had people downplay what happened to me and it makes you feel worthless and forgotten, like it’s not a big deal. The lesson to learn is to not participate. You never benefit by giving in to someones demands under threat. It can only get worse by doing so, not better. This also applies to other stuff than just if someone is trying to blackmail you. If someone tries to force you into a car under threat? Run even if they have a gun because your chances of getting away or only getting injured will only get lower. If you cant run? Kick and scream and bite, do everything you possibly can to make noise and make it harder for them to get you away from public. Never give in to threats. Similarly, dont fall for easy money. There is no easy money. Someone tells you to send explicit content for money? Dont. Whether it be a chat room, porn, stripping or anything else. Its not easy money as shown time and time again. Some of these cases couldve been prevented if the girls didnt start sending anything in the first place. Dont become a victim by trying to get easy money.

@sylviadelaney2456 ай бұрын
LOL. I wish I could tell you it was a Korea (or even just Asia thing). The disparity between age of consent and age of majority is nuts around the world. Staying in Asia though, Japan had an age of consent of 13 between 1907 and 2023 at which point it was changed to 16, meanwhile their age of majority/age of adulthood was 20 for 300 years and reduced to 18 at some point between the last quarter of 2022 and the second quarter of 2023. They conditioned their entire population into it being fine for people well over 20 to get married to teens (in some cases parental permission/blessing from the parents of the younger of the people set to be wed was required, but in some there was no requirement at all) for 300 years. Now they expect those same people to change their minds overnight. And then there is the matter of how many marriages in their country would now be null and void. Anyone who wed in the last fifty-sixty years has to get updated files or "exception" stamped onto their marriage certificates. Also the worst part about Japan changing these numbers is that it wasn't done to protect people at all. It was done because of Japan's aging population crisis and the need to get more young people into the workforce as quickly as possible. So you're an adult two years younger and you can consent to pretty much anything three years older than before. Because that's not going to backfire at all. Totally. It can't right? Right?! 🤦♀
