Cheveyo, Count Down is for New Zealanders, Wollies is for Aussies :) Rocking Chair was AWESOME!

You got a red mark in my mind for saying Countdown for the Australians (that’s for Kiwis), but more than made up for it by saying “servo station”. So we good! 😂
@kadegray9 ай бұрын
Countdown is Woolworths in Australia, they feel similar to walk into although Countdown’s are noticeably cleaner. It’s easy to get the country confused. Countdown’s are going to be rebranded to Woolworths this year.

I had to Google Uranus Missouri to find out whether that was one attraction or an entire town! And the answer is a sort of both "Uranus is a tourist attraction in unincorporated rural Pulaski County, Missouri, United States, along the former U.S. Route 66 (US 66).[1] All businesses are owned by Louie Keen, who calls himself the "Mayor of Uranus"." The idea of unincorporated towns in the US is still a bit mind blowing as an Australian. They basically don't exist in the same form here.

Tia & Chev: Firstly, yet another awesome video. Secondly, loved your Aussie Adventure Series. Thirdly, as a slightly older Aussie, I have memories of the name my Mum had for her cars. She would atypically refer to it as Gertrude, no matter what type of vehicle it was. Also, as per my generation, we'd tend to refer to our cars as an old bomb (aka: this old thing) regardless of the age of the vehicle. Since you've already suggested Cherry (heavily prompted by Tia's mug), how about Cherry Bomb? Thanks for the continued smiles and laughs ... and the "Tia for scale" - that always makes me smile 😊

Remote US and remote Australia are very different. It seems like a ghost continent to Americans, while your Australian journey had Australians travelling everywhere despite how far you were away from a main highway. NZ was even more "active" Interested to hear your thoughts.

So where is the largest rocking chair in the world? I feel that finding that should be one of your goals. These videos remind me of "Notes from a Big Country" by Bill Bryson. He did a big road trip around the more rural parts of the USA and found a lot of quirky roadside attractions and general weirdness.

When I look at Outdoor World, I'm struck by the cultural divide between Aus and the US. Fascinating actually.
@JerryGs-Cards9 ай бұрын
I'm curious why. Can you hunt/fish in Australia? Also, Outdoor Worlds also sell things like camping equipment, boats, etc. It's truly a store for those who love the outdoors.
@carokat11119 ай бұрын
@@JerryGs-Cards Absolutely you can hunt and fish, but you don't see it promoted much. Hunting is strictly controlled and limited. Fishing depends on where you live - very popular in my state, but I live on a large island. I think my comment is more about middle America and how different it is. I last travelled through Utah and Arizona about eight years ago. I really felt how different it was to Australia on that trip - lots of little things: food, clothing, lifestyle etc and LA and New York had changed too from my previous visits.

Some of that stretch was as creepy as,- maybe creepier than, - outback Australia. Mexican food!! I miss it so much. Mad Mex, Zambreros here in Australia are nice enough but Ive been spoiled having lived in California for many years - authentic Mex, Baja and Tex Mex galore. Have a lovely trip.

BTW, we have Target and Kmart in Australia guys :) Keep having fun 🤩👍😃

Well, now that you’ve visited a Bass Pro, you’ve seen the heart of middle America. They actually carry some good brands, but it’s an overwhelming place! Recently some guy got arrested for jumping (naked?) into a Bass Pro fish tank - Alabama I think. Anyhoo, my favorite part of the whole store is the huge bags of old fashioned candy up front, sugared orange slices, maple pecan drops, licorice, cinnamon drops. 😋
