This is so what I needed. It’s extremely easy to sleep the day off, watch media until my eyes hurt, and just consume and feel horrible at the end of the day. I definitely need to set my quarantine system so I won’t wast the day away and give depth to my time...love that point! Looking forward for more of your content!

My mom and I are learning for the first time what it means to practice self-care, to not judge ourselves for our struggles, and to find ways to move on from our traumas and build bigger, better, fuller lives for ourselves. She and I have struggled for years to find a decent therapist that might teach us these concepts, but the area we're in makes it difficult to find someone both reputable and affordable. These videos have really helped me personally, but they've also helped me present these ideas to my mom, who has been struggling for much longer than I have. Sometimes the thought of accepting even the "bad" emotions can seem radical to her, but I think this really helps get the message of balance across. So even though this is a bit of an old video, thank you Ro, for helping us learn and grow. I can't tell you how much it means to us.

Hey Rowena, being in quarantine all day has left me really sad and alone and since coming across your channel I can say that I can see a glimpse of light at the end of this tunnel. I watch your videos probably every night😅. I’ve read some of the books you’ve recommended like atomic habits, omg LOVED. Just thank you, it’s gonna take a while before I can say I’m happy but, believe me when I say you’re helping me get there.💖 1% better

Yes! Love this. 🙌 Self-care is my JAM! I coach a lot of clients through developing and prioritizing their self-care routines and the main thing I see is that the more drained, burnt out, anxious, tired, or depressed you are, the less energy you have to do the things that will make you feel better. Just like anything else, it gains momentum and can feel impossible to do what will help us feel better - even if we WANT to. It's important to remember that: A) It doesn’t have to be long and involved. It just has to be healthy. B) It doesn’t have to look like we’re told self-care looks. It just has to leave us feeling a bit better than when we started. C) There are plenty of options. We have to focus on doing the things that’ll help you move the needle - even just a little bit.
@TaraWagner4 жыл бұрын
Things are bit crazy right now and it can be so overwhelming to figure out where to start, so I want to add to this by sharing this video I did on 30 self-care ideas that can be done in 60 seconds or less, and/or take hardly any energy at all to get started to help anyone watching that may need support start moving the needle! ❤ kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3mZiXpuZ7d4a6c

Hi Rowena. Just wanted to say your videos are really calming. During the quarantine I have been sitting with my emotions which I would have otherwise ignored in the past and it's not easy. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. Thanks for this. This past month in quarantine has been very challenging to say the least, having even more down time than you since there's no work right now. I've been doing almost all the "right" things; eating healthy, exercising, taking walks, gardening, etc, however during all the quiet times this relentless anxiety always floods back in. I try to use the quiet times to meditate but to little avail. Thanks for the reminder that we're all going through this together, and the quote about making the most out of this time right now. Self-care is a practice, both physically and mentally.

But I must say, I've been watching your personal videos lately and I find your mindset so enlightening, refreshing, and gives me much to aspire towards. I want to discover ways to make the most out of my time, while maintaining a balance of productivity and relaxation (I liked your stuff about leisure time in another video). I heard this quote from a great health podcast I listened to recently, “You don’t rise to the level of your expectations. You fall to the level of your training.” Some people have already cultivated habits that keep them at peace in times of hardship and uncertainty. Its up to us to do the same and armor ourselves with practices to deal with stress when it arises ✨
