To me the BM17 is the perfect fuel truck. Looks amazing with the fuel tank addon and the matching red-white paintjob. And you can reach difficult areas with it fairly easily.

I personally use the BM17 as a service/maintenance truck. It's speed means it can deploy quickly and the great fuel enconomy and decent offroad performance allows it to get pretty much anywhere I have a vehicle that needs fuel or repairs.

Very good use case for the BM. It can be very versatile

I expected to hate this truck because of the lack of locking diffs, but I gave it a shot and I loved enough to actually replace the White Western Star as my general purpose truck in the mid game. I find the Paystar to be marginally more capable when the path gets bad, but it’s thirsty and has smaller fuel tanks. With the big fuel tanks and ridiculously good fuel economy with the appropriate engine I find that even though my pace is slower due to the diffs long trips still take less time as there’s no need to spend time dealing with fuel. Still though, even with the diffs being what they are this truck will push through anything, and unless you’re up to your axles in snow or mud it gets through pretty fast.

I 100% agree with that whole statement! Well said. Love the BM17

BM17 and the Fleetstar were my early game favorites. Then I decided to try an Azov 64131. Haven't driven the Royal since, and that was hundreds of hours of gameplay ago. I still keep it in the garage though for the memories and it's one of the best looking trucks in my opinion. Great review, you put together very nice videos.

The BM17 def is one of my favorite looking trucks for sure. I actually did something similar, but after my game was deleted I started trying trucks as I went and loved the BM17 and the Fleetstar for what they are. Thank you so much, I'm glad you like the videos :)

I would like to see another Royal truck in Snowrunner, maybe like a heavy truck in a region revolving around moving super trailers
@Paladwyn Жыл бұрын
I use this guy mostly as a seismic vibrator truck. It's got the power to move that heavy thing and can get where it needs to go. I just keep it in auto for the most part. I don't like to move too fast with this guy because he's bouncy and one wrong move can send you in all sorts of random directions. If I'm not using a vibrator then it can do cargo bed applications but I don't haul trailers with it, it seems to struggle with them, especially when the road gets mucky.
@zsoltbarta90122 жыл бұрын
Good review video! 1 thing I'd add, it has the best low saddle position. Its slightly before axel 2 (when axel 1 is the steering axel) not like others between axle 2 and 3. This extra info makes it way better with low saddle than sideboard bed, as it is less tippy and has better traction with saddle low+crane than sideboard bed+crane. Awesome workhorse till you finish with Alaska maps.
@NProvince2 жыл бұрын
Very good addition! This is even better news because I’m more of a low saddle/small crane type of guy over the sideboard/crane. I find I can influence the trailers balance and mobility much better on a saddle than a hitch. Really really good comment ! Thank you!

It's just one of those trucks that I took for a spin after getting it and then never touched again. Maybe there should be some missions forcing the player to use a given truck. Why else would you drive this unless you want to challenge yourself (or do a cliff jump in White Valley)? Sorry BM17, this game isn't about top speed on straight tarmac. Loved the video, though! Suggestion for next: Paystar 5070. You can buy it right after unlocking the garage in Black River, Michigan by selling your two trucks and a trailer. So it is one of the starter trucks, really.
@NProvince3 жыл бұрын
It crushes the cliff jump for sure! It would be good to have contracts or tasks that are exclusive to one vehicle. That's a good idea. The Paystar is one of my favs and I'll def do that one soon! I have a truck I have to do for a fellow streamer upon request and then the Paystar per yours. I was a guy who bought it early game as well, but also bought the Azov too. Thank you for the support! Can't wait to review the Paystar!

I believe this is the most under appreciated trucks in the game. With a high ranger gearbox, and the fuel carrier, vanbody, or a saddle and semi to keep its stability in check. Its an amazing truck.
@NProvince7 ай бұрын

@TugaSvg3 жыл бұрын
Imo the Royal has the best high gear of them all. Even if you stalled a bit in some rocks or climb, if you put it right away in high gear the truck seem to gain a immediate boost wich is very helpful in mild offroad terrain. For me it's one of the most fun trucks to ride. You can almost do a burnout and drift with this truck if you disable AWD and right before the auto gear changes from 1 to higher you put it immediately in high. Pretty fun to drive actually.
@NProvince3 жыл бұрын
Its super fast in high gear. I personally dont use it because my driving skills arent that quick, but witht he BM; you can just slam it in high and it just goes lol. One of my favorite trucks actually

Just got this game a couple of days ago. My first go to truck was the Azov 6.. after failing with the unupgraded GMC starter truck. While it lacks the diff. lock and you can get stuck with it a bit easier then the Azov it has way more power and speed therfore I was able to do contracts a lot faster with this beast.❤

@@NProvince Wow thanks so much for responding, my first time talking to someone famous. But now that I've got ur attention, give it to me straight. Is the BM17 worth using when the Paystar is available (besides the fact that it looks cool)? Thinking about the Paystar's mudtires and diff-lock really make me feel like an idiot whenever i start to struggle with the BM17. ...p.s. I'm trying to use it as a dedicated heavy crane truck.
@NProvince Жыл бұрын
@@tannertriplett7963 So the BM is a good workhorse truck to use, however I would not use it as a crane truck. Throughout my videos you hear me speak about trucks that have bad weight distributions and why they shouldn’t be used with heavy addons that will further influence their center of balance. I have used the BM as a prime mover with a low saddle and I love it, add a small crane and it’s nice because your trailer acts as a counter balance. A few videos I talk about this are my “trailer review” and for the tire selection you mention is my “mudRunnin tips”. The Paystar does have access to mud tires, but I’d still use the OHD1 off-road tires due to their width adding stability for a unstable truck (Paystar) and their ability to generate traction on heavy weight. Also Paystar is a wonderful truck as well for low saddle semi trailer with a small crane. This example is mentioned in the trailer review as well. Lemme know if you have any other questions. I hope this helps :)

Oh I agree the highrange suits it very well. The offroad is only good if you have difflock and I mentioned that in the video. The russian vehicles mostly just leaves the american trucks obsolete once you leave michigan and alaska, there are just so much better options. Pretty sure this is the reason we dont see better tires than UOD2's on american trucks in the game and lack of diff lock/awd on a large ammount of them where the almost all the russian vehicles has better offroad and exclusively mudtired not just on the offroad trucks but the heavy duty as well and almost always diff lock/awd. A little bit of a boring bias if you ask me.

Good question. I’ll try to be short winded, but I wanna try and answer your question fully. In the video I talked about the BMs main downfalls. I used this truck on my new hardcore mode (completely Stock vehicle) in Alaska and it did amazing. So I think the BM can do pretty much everything. You just have to choose whether you want more clearance at the cost of balance. Also understand that it doesn’t have diff lock. In the video I think I mentioned ways to still be successful without diff lock. I hope that helps. Management of the stability, fuel, and lack of diff lock are main things. I love the BM personally
