This is possibly one of the most impressive and best preserved Royal palaces IN THE WORLD. It has an intimate , intriguing atmosphere that I have never felt elsewhere and the guides on site are superb. ❤

Some of my ancestors worked for James IV, V, VI, VII and were also noble members of Mary Queen of Scot's Household. My 16th Great Grandfather, Sir James Balfour, was involved in a meeting at Craigmillar Castle to organise Darnley's removal which was requested by Bothwell.

The late Queen was just known as Queen Elizabeth in Scotland. She was only Elizabeth the second in England.
