Thanks for the quick and very informative video Roy! I’m going to be changing the master cylinder in my 95 Tacoma. My dad bought the truck new back in 95 and nearly 30 years and 415,000 miles later, this will be the first time its being replaced.

This guy is a legit mechanic, lot of bad info on KZbin but this guy is great! I usually hate swapping master cylinders but this dude makes it look easy specially with that cool break stick, why don't I have one of those?

I always heard the term "Master Cylinder" but I never knew where it was in the engine bay. I never knew what a master cylinder even looked like. I always thought that was just a brake fluid reservoir. Great education today!!! Thank You Roy!!!

I have a '97 Tacoma with 254,500 miles on it, which I've owned since new. This is the first time I'll have to replace the Master Cylinder. Thanks for the tutorial! 🤙

Mahalo exactly what I need to do to my 1996 Tacoma. This has been the best vehicle I have ever owned and I’ve owned VW, Chevy, Ford, Jeep, Mercedes. I’ve owned this truck for over 20 years and the only other thing I have replaced is a starter! And I have used this truck for very heavy construction, loads of trees, rocks, dirt ,lumber, trailer loads of kayaks and paddle boards off road camping etc. thanks again you make this look easy I like the Philips screw driver trick for bleeding master cylinder! Mahalo bro

Very informative.. of course there are critics. A) dont remove screen when adding fluids. ( Its to catch debris) B) When you do the initial Master Cylinder bleed and you have the pedal down (position) replace the plugs before you release. But a Great Video!! Thank You..

@@RoysGarage808 Thank you for making this video. I turned on my 98 tacoma today and put it in reverse and the truck did not respond almost at all to the brakes. I had the brake entirely depressed and it continued to roll backwards, albeit slowly but enough to scare the crap out of me. Does it make sense to go straight to replacing the master cylinder given that set of circumstance? Could it be something else, such as the brake booster?
@RoysGarage8083 жыл бұрын
@@outtarespecttomyfawtha1589 so sorry for the late. My immediate suspicion would be that the master cylinder is bypassing. Most likely not the brake booster. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Great video! I’m having brake issues I tried bleeding my brakes And they feel the same , I have a 2002 Tacoma V6 does the engine need to be on while I bleed them or off?

New to all this. But learning fast. When you apply and hold the brake pressure at the end to check for air. What am I visually looking for? The liquid level to go down from moving the air out of the line that was opened ?
@RoysGarage8082 жыл бұрын
Air coming out from the master. You can feel it with your fingers. Make sure all the Air is out before installing the master🤙
