Sorry to hear that, seems like one of those annoying problems that you always think you have fixed but when you put everything back together it’s still there. I had 3 problems in the space of a year with my rs4 gearbox. In the end I ended up servicing the mecchatronic unit, the cables inside the gearbox including the gearbox position sensor and lastly the entire TCM for a gen2 one “i believe it’s the one with the updated processor from 2014 onwards”

that's not nice to hear either 😢 Yes that's right what you say outside of the video I think I had opened the gearbox 3 times and the sound was still there (and I still think it's the Diffrential in the gearbox ) when I saw the facelift gearbox for sale with warranty and the same mileage, this was the best choice and the cheapest solution for me! yes, this car is not the best design from Audi if you know what is going to break on this car. but I still love this car especially the sound this engine produces 🙏😂

Hey rmprojects, did you have any other symptoms besides the noise? I have the same gearbox in an A6 3.0tfsi. It is not really noisy but it gives vibrations and grabbing the propshaft I have a lot of play in the box. Wondering if that is similar to your issues?

@robthijssen724 Yes, the play you feel is standard on all these gearboxes, but it can get worse over many kilometers. yes I had another problem. When I accelerated hard you heard a taktaktaktaktak and when I downshifted at high speed, you could also feel it later in the car

@@RmProjects I'm about to do the same repair you showed in your diff bearing replacement video. Also found the driveshaft flange has play and it fits the symptoms I notice in the car. Although the driveshafts are fine it feels like driveshaft wobble. Together with vibrations under load, and especially during engine braking. Not much noise though, certainly not the TakTakTak you've described. Only some strong humming during engine braking.

Mate, always pleased when I see your video upload. Hopefully the new DSG will be the solution. As a fellow RS5 owner do you know if the rear Sport Differential can be shimmed (spaced) to reduce backlash?

thank you! Yes, luckily it's solved with the new gearbox 🥳 & I don't know if the rear Diffrential can be filled out for the play. well the play in the front Diffrential can be filled out but you have to buy another version Diffrential
