The only reason people think 2014 was really bad for gaming is because they don't have a Wii U. Nintendo kicked major fucking ass this year. Smash Bros, Pokemon ORAS, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8 and more. And 2015 is gonna be just as good if not better.

Neat seeing a high quality Nitecore flashlight pop up randomly on a podcast. Some more info: This is a Nitecore TM26. It uses four 18650 batteries. This lithium ion battery can be found in many laptop battery packs (Typically 6-12 18650 cells connected together). This particular battery (NL186) has a protection circuit attached that acts as a safeguard to overcharging (prevents this from occurring, which if it did not the cell could explode when overcharged). The protection circuitry also prevents over discharging. The TM26 (3500 lumen) is roughly ~$250. There are a myriad of flashlights that run on lithium ion cells including some lights that utilize massive 32650 cells (32mm width, 65mm length). An AA battery is roughly 14mm by 50mm. You can get LED (XML, XPG, XRE, MTG, etc) flashlights from as cheap as ~$2 all the way up to $1000+ and everything in between! I've got a few flashlights that pump out 6000+ lumens for around $100. Quite a fun little niche hobby. :)

@SpaceManNation
@SpaceManNation 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you say the content is laughable, but if you compare it to something like Titanfall, destinys crucible matches up to the amount of content that entire game has so to add on the events, strikes, raids, main missions, nightfall strikes, daily heroics and the grind, the content is fairly decent. Everyone thinks there's no content because there wasn't that many story missions, and apparently people just play that and then stop playing the game, which makes no sense. It may not be your particularly favorite game, but a shit ton of people play that game religiously even after 6 months, and that's why it's up for game of the year.

@MasterCJ117
@MasterCJ117 10 жыл бұрын
SpaceManNation To be fair Destiny actually has WAY more content than alot of games (and more than people give it credit for), crucible for instance has about as much content as most games that revolve around PvP like CoD and Halo, and the PvE stuff is more content/time in a Campaign than those same games the only games that have more content are full on open world games like Borderlands or Fallout 3 and games that revolve around PvE like Alien: Isolation, Bungie is trying their best to make PvE and PvP basically equally as good which very few games even attempt.

from the way Burnie framed it, Destiny is great for Casual players who just recently hit level 25 on 1 character, that have been playing since launch. which is fine, if you just want to play a shooter that has well executed shooting mechanics (like CoD). But if you are a hardcore player, with 3 characters all hitting their level caps and ripping the game to pieces looking for quality content. You quickly discover there isnt much of a game/content there. As one of Burnie's sons seems to have figured out before his much younger son started playing. So if you are a Casual gamer (you don't take things to seriously, 1-2 hours of playtime a night) or are very young and dont have the experience to compare it to better games. Destiny is a great game for you. You wont mind or wont know how much of a waste of time it really is. i would like to say dont bother responding to me, since ive had tons of discussions with people who eventually just give up and admit they set the quality bar low in the games they play. or admit im correct, if what im looking for in gaming is clearly missing in destiny and that the reason they only play is because their friends play or they have nothing better to do. But i will probably respond anyway so, dont waste your time.

This is almost near opposite to what happens with this game. People who love the grind will love this game to death and will play it to get everything possible in the game. There may not be many missions in the game, but the amount of collectible weapons, shaders, ships, armor, and so one will drag a grinder in and never spit them back out. Someone who is used to being able to beat a game without a grind with a direct objective will hate this game. You have to have a very open mind going into this game, because if you expect a normal FPS you will not enjoy this game unless you can except the ways of a grinding MMO
@anonforuz
@anonforuz 10 жыл бұрын
xX3twoXx What Burnie outlined was my experience in both arguing/discussing with people and being a bit like his older son, who played and found the game pretty much devoid of purpose. I feel like a broken record. I stopped playing more than a month ago. I have 3 level 31 characters. they were all level 30 weeks before the dlc. I have over 700 hours spent in game across 3 different classes. Ive done just about every daily, weekly, nightfall that was available Hundreds of strikes. and To many Raids, to many segmented raids. Upgraded more armor and weapons then most people have. To give the game a chance (most of which necessary to get my characters to where they are.). Im a player who is willing to Farm Titanite Slabs in Dark Souls for 5 hours, for 1 slab and go for a second. willing to do boring tasks like mine out a 30x100xBedrock hole in Minecraft if i want to build something on a survival server. Im a player who likes a good grind, when there is a point to it. When the grind is necessary for something lasting and meaningful. Destiny doesnt have that. Your armor can become meaningless the second a piece of armor has 0.1 more light. your level becomes meaningless the second a mission is 1 level above you, placing you under an Artificial Difficulty Damage Nerf. And probably worse of all, most of the games content is hidden behind a lottery system and slowed down by caps. all while having terrible communication methods in game. Hardly a story to be found. extremely short campaign. Any Challenge to the game is easily cheesed. but there honestly is no challenge since everything is a bullet sponge with dumb ai anyway. replaying stale missions and repetitive uninteresting bounties for materials and xp to level things up at a moderate pace. still have to walk around in circles farming materials for hours, especially when dlc drops and invalidates every piece of armor and weapons you own. Maybe im not open minded enough to be willing to accept a bullshit system which make a point to demonstrate that everything i work towards in game has no value. Only to highlight that I wasted my time. Destiny is for Casual players, who havent invested much time into the game. for players who will never invest enough time to see bungie screw them. for players who are "opened minded" enough to deal with systems in game which hold no value or purpose other than to slow you down, because there isnt enough content. To the players who like RPGs and meaningful grinding, or want to have their FPS skills tested, Destiny is not the game for you. Its a lot of waiting around, standing in 1 spot shooting dumb ai for 10 minutes, and doing meaningless tasks for materials and gear which wont be worth anything in a few weeks. If you love it. Great. But i wont pretend it deserves to be on any game of the year list. And anyone who believes it does hasnt played enough or doesnt seem to know shit when they are standing in it.

i wanna write questions, because if there are going to be more posts. I already know where they will go. Why did you buy the game if you dont like it? Why didnt you wait for reviews? If you dont like it, why did you play so much? You know its an MMO right? Dont you know the story is on bungie.net? I loved the beta and bungie (10 year Mythic Member). bungie didnt let people review until after the game came out. i wanted to do and play everything and hit max level in case later there was something worth playing/doing in the game after level 20 (there wasnt). its not an mmo, even tho it employs the worst aspects of them. if its not in the game, it doesnt count.

To Burnie's comment about Destiny, it's sort of like this. Destiny is fun, but that's all it will be: fun. Sure I'll play it over a game like Spec Ops: The Line. Compare it to movie format. I loved the Lego Movie; in fact, I watch that movie every week, but no way in hell would I say it's better than something like Schindler's List. While The Lego Movie is more fun, Schindler's List is obviously the better movie. Same with Destiny; it's fun but nowhere near GOTY.

What about "The Grand Budapest Hotel"?. It is such a good movie. Wes Anderson's attention to detail in the scenes and the hilarious dialogue make for a great film.

For a short, Gavin should be an AA counsellor. "well if you keep coming back for another drink, drinking is obviously a good thing" "it's getting hard to think without having a drink? Just don't have one. STOP"

At 12:52, a game that came out in 2012 called Warframe has a very similar weapon system to Destiny, in that you gain exp on your weapon, then can apply buffs to it. The higher level the weapon is, the more buffs you can apply.

"Glowstick kid"s biggest danger wasn't hot liquid, it was glass. Glow sticks use thin glass vials to keep the reactants separate until use. That's what makes the cracking sound when you "snap" one.

Thanks for the Dollar Shave Club sponsorship. I was only chatting to my mother today about the price of razors here in Australia and after seeing their sponsorship made me think of trying them (I know they've floated around for a long time, I just never thought of getting them)
