Negativity below. I’m feeling bad so I tend to push that onto others. Read at your own risk. I hear cats also eat you after you die. If you’re sick, maybe they know you’re soon to die and wish to eat you. Just theorizing. Dogs also eat you. As far as being lonely, idk. I do know my dogs lick up my tears, but I think that’s because they like salt. Side note: I also really, really hate cats. I had one and it kinda ruined my childhood.

Cats and dogs both are very social animals though and if you feel down will try to comfort you - cats even purr randomly if they notice you don't feel well because the purring can help calm and soothe pain as well as help with healing.

As someone who got cancer at 14, this hit hard because I was able to push through, and I have to think about the people that didnt make it. All the people I met in the hospital, who didnt have family, who didnt have friends to support them. They had nobody, and this video really represents that. He was finally ready, and during many points during my treatment I was as well.

Tbh the only person who can do it is you. I know from experience of fully accepting my existence as someone who felt and still feels worthless. I may hate the lack of motivation I have when I do something I'm not passionate about, and I may never achieve anything despite working as hard as my mind will allow me. But I've accepted the fact that no matter what happens, I will be forever proud of overcoming the odds stacked against me in my life. I lived through it, and that's all that matters. Fate will take it's course, and eventually I will die. But until then, I will try to make things for myself and other people that I can be proud of when it's finally time to leave this place. I'll write and draw my heart out until I die so that when I do there will be something to show for how much I was really capable of to begin with. I think leaving people as well as ourselves with gifts and memories is the best gift anyone can give to the world around them, and once you realize that you are inherently valuable because you live and work for the now and not the later things will turn around. Learn to value the little things along the way, because they'll end up mattering more then anything in the long run.

It really hit home when Chloe started saying he was faking being sick. I got sick around that age; extreme pain, palpitations, constant cancer checks; and they ALL thought I was faking it just by how weird it was and still is. Man, the friends I lost from their fear of knowing a possibly dying person... how my siblings turned on me cause they had to take care of my chores... my parents yelling saying to suck it up and stop crying since they were overwhelmed... Chloe brought that all back up. Her voice actor making her sound indifferent, how she's "been through it before" and "knows he's just faking"... God they did that too well.

I felt this too, it’s how my first relationship ended. I was so crushed for years and hearing that part in the game just made me feel like I went through a time machine. I’ve never seen a game handle being chronically ill/disabled with such care and gentleness, this is a moving and relatable experience. Also being an artist with a mother who is very similar to the one portrayed, it just feels like this game was telling my life story in a way. Just so genuinely moving 💙 I hope you’re doing okay, and remember that you’ll always be more than your illnesses/disabilities 💙

My mum has multiple sclerosis and she used to be the most active person I knew, she had 2 horses and went riding daily. but by the time I was 12 she was struggling to walk, when I was 15 she couldn't even stand unassisted. I'm 18 now, my mum struggles to feed herself, she can't stand shes completely wheelchair-bound, she struggles to speak sometimes and is losing her memory, it's so fucking hard to watch this happen to her but I can't even begin to imagine what it's like having your body and mind slowly fail you.

as an artist with chronic fatigue, this really hit home for me. my entire childhood was taken away from me, except my art. i would draw every day since i had nothing to do. eventually i became suicidal as i had nobody, nothing, and nobody cared to stick around and be friends with me. i forgot what it was like to live a normal life, and became more of a recluse every day. eventually i would never leave my room except to get food, water etc. and i stopped talking to friends online. i would lose a little bit of myself each day, and within a few months i had lost all sense of self, the only thing tying me to reality being my drawings. eventually my mother found out about my depression, and took me to a therapist. i got medication and therapy and over the years my chronic fatigue and depression improved. itll never be completely gone, but at least now i know theres people looking out for me and im not alone

I had a similar experience. I had a friend in elementary school who I'd play with everyday at recess. We'd go acorn hunting, smash them to see what was inside and bury the rest when it was time to go in, then see if we could find them the next day (we never could). She drowned in a swimming pool in 2nd grade, and the elementary school made a pretty memorial for her and a large portion of my class attended her funeral. She was a fun person to be around and was/is dearly missed.

From what I understood the life Benny describes at first was the story made up by himself with the typewriter, but in reality he died in his bed... The fact that the ferryman said that despite Benny litearly dying at 11 years old and despite that called his life a full life... man, that hit me, because I always worry that I won't live a full life. And also the fact that in the end the parents were described as "ordinary" says that you don't NEED to land into a family that is the best in the world, man this is a good game with some good messaging. At least from how I understood it.

So like, this 11 year old boy was very sick and in his fever dreams, feeling like he’s not ready to go, like he still has so much to live for, he imagines a future where he is healed and becomes a world famous artist. But this is all a beautiful lie he dreamt up which prevents him from passing on. At the end, in self-reflection and together with his first love he starts accepting his imminent end and gains a new, more positive perspective on his life. Finally, in the company of his family he welcome the end of a short, but fully lived out life. Or did I understand wrong?

I rarely admit these things online, and I know this will probably get swallowed, but I wanted to share my own experiences and why this game... really hits me hard. I have DID. For those of you who don't know, DID is Dissociate Identity Disorder. Now, most of you will dissociate a few times or even a bit often, but for people who have DID, like us, it goes a lot further. We have separate... Selves, you could say. My name is Don, but in our system, there's Ari and Third. Each of us has our own duties, our own wants, our own unique senses of self. We have our own experiences, our own thoughts, our own personalities. We're all complex in our own rights. The reason this game really resonates with me is that for us, we don't...share our memories. It's hard if not impossible. I'll be active and be able to see, feel, hear everything. I'll be able to interact with the world and know it's me. I'll be able to "Yeah. I'm Don. I know who I am." But maybe in a few moments, I'll dissociate, and then Ari takes over, possibly, and she has that same experience for herself, being able to do things she wants to do, but I won't know. It's like the blink. Suddenly you're aware of what's going on, not really sure as to the context, but things fade in and you're aware. But you don't really know how long you'll... be around, in a way you could say it. I just sometimes without notice snap out of reality, like I'm being pulled from a screen, then a bit later, I get pulled back, suddenly aware of everything, but everything has changed. We don't know how long we'll be gone for. We could be gone for a minute, we could be gone for a day. Third's gone right now, and has been away for 3 months. It's scary. I would be lying if I said I wasn't terrified of the future and my life as we live in. So many people take for granted the ability to have memories, the ability to feel things, and existence itself. I have been suicidal from this, and at times I still am, but it's unfair to not just me, but to Ari and third if I did that. It's unfair to those around me, as well, and those that care about me. I have a girlfriend, now. She's an angel. She helps take care of me so much. She doesn't mind repeating things, or reminding us of certain things, or helping communicate between Ari and me. We don't know who's the "original," if they're even still around. Ari remembers more than I do of our childhood, which suggests she is, but considering the body is male, we're unsure and highly doubtful. Everything is very... confusing for us. We try to understand, but mainly we just try to live. Things like driving to somewhere that might just be around the corner can be a hassle because I might want to head to the store for shampoo, but while driving or stopped on the way, Ari might take over and might have no idea why we're even driving. It's horrible at times, and causes so much issues, but we're still alive and going. We're blessed to be able to still live in a house with our family, though they know we have issues they don't know to the true extent of things. Ari wants to tell everyone and own up to it, but I'm scared. I'm really scared. But I have faith. I have faith in things working out, as long as we keep putting in the hard work. -Donovan

I felt the same way about this game, for slightly similar yet all together different reasons. See, I have a mental disorder called Epilepsy. Maybe you've heard of it, maybe not-- it basically means I am very susceptible to these random outbursts and seizures, which can happen at the most random of times. And, a seizure, as I wouldn describe it, is exactly like blinking, or passing out-- one minute, I'm in my house, reading a book or playing games, and the next, I'm in the back of an ambulance, or in a hospital bed, and I'm tied down to keep from hurting myself and I'm just exhausted, I have no idea what's going on. I don't know what I did while I was out, or even how long I was out for. Although, that is, of course, now-- I have prescription medicine from my doctors that works to keep my brain in control, and I have semi-anual appointments with my neurologist to make sure I'm physically healthy, and I have a butt-ton of information I wouldn't have known, previously, to share with those around me and to keep myself calm and to make sure everything's, alright, but... I wasn't diagnosed with epilepsy until I was in the seventh grade. Because that was when my parents noticed-- but I had been having seizures long before then. For example, we'd be driving down the highway, and it would be late afternoon, and the flickering of sunlight and shade from the trees and sixty or something mph would have me twitching, shaking, and then we'd be dozens of miles from where I remembered last, and I'd be terrified, trying not to cry because I didn't know what the hell was going on. Or, there'd be the absent seizures, in which, we'd be at a dinner party, and I would stop talking mid-sentence, and then time would pass without me knowing it, and then I'd just... wake up, and finish the sentence, and everyone would be so confused, because they'd forgotten what I was on about, and I would feel like a fool for having even spoken up in the first place. So, then I became a very socially anxious, very timid little kid. And I liked my denial, pretending that everything was alright, but... Even now, being many years seizure-free, I'll never forget how terrifying it is, loosing control over my body. Trying to move my hands, but watching them flail about; trying to call for help, but hearing my voice blabber on about something different, instead. And then the blip. The blinking. Learning how to trust myself again was always the hardest part. Anyway, sorry for that long, dramatic spiel-- I know it's nothing like op's condition, but it's nice relating with somebody about the disassociation, the total loss of control. If you've read all of that, I thank you very much; please remember to take care of yourself, to eat food and to hydrate and to remember that you're worth it. That you're all worth it. As an honest comment, This game made me cry as the story concluded of imagining a potential life to make up for wasted potential, and those caring for you watching you waste away. This game really reminds me of dementia and alzheimer's... The way things and memories seem to cut off at the blink of an eye, and the way the visuals are presented too, almost splotchy and unwhole

I feel bad... everyone's talking about how they're crying so much and I was just enjoying the voice acting the whole time. Like- I noticed that the dad has the same voice actor as Brown Bear from We Bare Bears and everytime he talked I was like, "heehehe adorable bear dad"
