Yasuke was the retainer of Nobunaga, he only carried his sword and thats it, they just giving him a new spin but he was never a real Samurai. Just a heads up. I hope you guys can do more gaming trailers that would be awesome

Samurai in the sengoku-jidai WERE samurai . Before nobunaga died he was considering giving yasuke an entire castle to lord over. He was samurai as we understand it now period

That's not exactly right. Retainers didn't just carry swords, they were a full-blown samurai class of that time period of 1579 where the game takes place. Seriously, look up the word _kashindan._ Samurai isn't a fancy title, it's a military class. During that period anyone could be samurai if you were deemed worthy. Samurai didn't become truly elite until the 1603 Edo period where you could only become samurai by birth or marriage. We know Yasuke acquired the title of Koshō which was highly esteemed because it showed a certain level of education. Luís Fróis, a Portuguese missionary at the time wrote that he was fluent in Japanese and Oda Nobunaga took great pleasure speaking with him. The overall quality of his education, fiefdom, servants he was given, pay and military training were all consistent with what a Samurai would receive that's why it's not unreasonable to believe he was indeed Samurai. We have sources straight from Alessandro Valignano, another priest from that era describing his physique and how Nobunaga became interested in him. Dude was about 1.80 meters tall in a country where the average height was less than 1.60 meters. His strength was said to be "more than ten men," relevant enough to survive to this day. He didn't want him just for show.

For instance, Japanese developers of the game Nioh made William Adams who was a historical white Samurai the main character but no one complained, Which also had Yasuke in it as a Samurai in the form a boss and later a companion. No one complained then, now because Yasuke is the main character who is black. It's literally because his skin isn't white, I honestly believe if they used William instead the amount of hate would be far less.

Here is a true question, How many characters in Assassin's Creed (AC 1 through AC Valhalla) were playable and if any of them were true historical people from the past? The ANSWER is very simple, 15 Playable Fictional Characters and “NONE” of them were true historical people of the past! All the "playable" characters in AC 1 through AC Valhalla were all fictional characters, Yasuke was a real historical person who was nothing more than a retainer, not a samurai. Yasuke IS A REAL HISTORICAL BLACK MAN WHO WAS NOTHING BUT A RETAINER FOR Oda Nobunaga! "Real Historical Person," Yasuke was and is but a "Retainer." The other Assassin's Creed characters from Assassin's Creed 1 through Assassin's Creed Valhalla are "Fictional," characters that DO NOT EXIST IN ACTUAL HISTORY. Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (Fictional Character), Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Fictional Character), Captain Edward James Kenway (Fictional Character), Adéwalé (Fictional Character), Aveline de Grandpré (Fictional Character), Bayek of Siwa (Fictional Character), Alexios and Kassandra (Fictional Characters), Basim Ibn Ishaq (Fictional Character), and others that are not based in our past historical history. That is why I always stated to other people that 80% is Fact because of True History for Assassin's Creed Video Games, then there is the 20% Fiction that has "People", Places, Items, and other things that are in the game, are not in our past history. Yasuke "IS A TRUE HISTORICAL PERSON IN JAPAN," NOT A FICTIONAL CHARACTER, you can say, "fantasy," all you want but we all know that Yasuke is a real black man who was a retainer, not trained to use the katana, he cleaned Nobunaga's Katana's and other weapons that is what a retainer does. Sorry to say in true historical words and more true blunt historical words Yasuke was a retainer meaning he was a servant to Oda Nobunaga. Not my words but in actual dictionary definitions, Retainer is a person attached or owing service to a household especially a: SERVANT or b: EMPLOYEE. There’s discrepancies in Japanese history about Yasuke and we don’t know he was a retainer or a samurai that was trained. There is basically no actual documentation except for a few stories, but stories can change over time because of different perspectives, different things happening different mindset. Just like for example, that if you say something from a long time ago by word-of-mouth, then someone says it in a different word or words than that word-of-mouth or whatever you said can be different. And we cannot forget about WWII that many things could’ve been lost because of the war, and we may never know from certain items to certain documentations were burnt or been completely annihilated because of the two bombs, but we don’t know. I’m not saying that this can be a true story or not but all we know that he was nothing more than a retainer and that is it. I am sorry to say, but until there is actual more evidence like where is Yasuke Katana sword? Where is it? Does anyone know? Because if you have that sword and it has his name on it and approves that he was a samurai, but in the end, no sword, no proof that he was a samurai. Both Greed and WOKE is the message and agenda on both UBISOFT and Sweet Baby Inc. and Black Gamer Girls, and DEI Money. There is no story or the Hero's Journey in this game. Assassin's Creed is just now a "Shadow Shell," of itself and an empty husk. You know if only the Baka writer read Japanese History a lot closer than instead of 2 characters to play, there could be only 1 character to play. There was an opportunity they could have used instead of a fictional black samurai character and in real history he was a retainer not a samurai. If only they read Japanese history carefully and throughly they could have made the only one Japanese Female Assassin Character. Combined both true history and fiction, Japanese women at the time did learn to use a particular weapon called, "Naginata," a Polearm weapon with a curved blade at the top. While the katana sword tends to be associated with male samurai of Japan, a distinctive weapon called the naginata has been traditionally associated with women and female fighters known as onna-bugeisha. This could have been the base of a Japanese Assassin's Creed Story, with a Japanese Woman who learned to use the Naginata and eventually learns the way of the Assassin's Brotherhood. Do you know why they don’t want to make a game based in Africa, especially in Assassin’s Creed well because in actual history, many of the warring tribes enslaved their own kind. In about 90% or even 80% of the black population of today, don’t want to admit that their own kind in Africa, their own ancestors in Africa enslaved their own kind. This is why they don’t want to make any Assassin’s Creed games based in Africa. I know they already did Egypt, but I am talking other African countries or places in Africa other than Egypt like South Africa, Algeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and the other 48 African countries.

I am only playing the Female Japanese Assassin Naoe, because she is an Assassin and only Assassin and not Yasuke who is only a Samurai Brute. 3. When watching the gameplay my heart race for Naoe because she is a Japanese Female Assassin. All my years playing Assassin’s Creed, I play the characters like true Assassin’s they were, that hide in plain sight. When playing as an Assassin you need to plan your next movement and the heart races for if you’re going to get caught and using the hidden blade. 4. Naoe is a fictional character. 5. The gameplay is amazing, if Ubisoft keeps going and keeps evolving the gameplay rather than the graphics, then I give some stars to the game.

Game Developer/Systems Designer in the industry here. (NOT for AC or Ubisoft, to clarify.) This looks ATROCIOUS. And you should be offended. Most of even the major companies realize the DEI/Woke movement was a mistake, and are pivoting away as fast as possible. The issue is that most AAA games take 5-7 years on average to make (yes, even most, but not all, Assassin's Creed games.) So this is likely the "oh god...we messed up...just push it out, the paying audience has spoken" phase, aka the last dying gasps of the woke movement. At least that's my experience, even from a few years ago until today. We can ONLY hope...(progressivism is good, tokenism for profit is gross)
