The accusations against the child by Ruby should probably be taken with a GIANT grain of salt considering she accused the same child of consuming adult materials when said child was three. Oh, and Ruby considers music she doesn't find acceptable to be akin to hardcore porn. Hildebrandt also has a history of accusing her victims of horrific crimes. Her niece was the victim of this, her former patient that she broke patient-client confidentiality of was a victim of this. It's in the playbook! Let's face it, it's the perfect accusation- it's horrific, it's shocking, we believe victims! So, it instantly helps discredits *her* victims' statements against her and helps minimizes her crimes and lets her get away with either no punishment or lesser punishment.

I was raised Mormon and the description of incipient sexuality was extremely accurate and showed a lot of insight relative to my experience. I've talked to other people about this and their experience wasn't nearly as bad as mine was and I think personal scrupulosity played a large role. This connects with your discussion about "cults within Mormonism" which is inaccurate. Everyone is part of the exact same organization with very standardized doctrine and teaching materials. The extent to which it has harmful cult-like influences and control on ones personality is largely based on personal temperament. She did this to Jessi(her niece) and she did this to Adam Paul Steed. Given how much Jodi has lied about this, I find this really horrible and it must not be automatically assumed. Jessi and Adam made it clear their stories.

I am so glad to hear you have been researching all these issues. I noticed in some of your reaction videos in the past that you were ignorant of these issues with IBLP, purity culture, and the Pearls. I grew up with some of these beliefs (IBLP adjacent) and they are super harmful even in smaller doses. My dad was unapologetically abusive but my mom has realized how twisted these beliefs are now. She was raised even more intensely than she raised us. It is great to hear you denouncing these things.

Would love to see Jessi speak with you directly about this… I think they’re fairly local to you. I’m sure they’re getting lots of interview requests… but maybe not by people like you. I was raised by To Train Up A Child. My mother died and six months later I gave birth to my son… so a concerned extended family member sent me the book. I must admit the hosing off idea seemed kind of reasonable… until it was proposed that to be consistent, the activity would need to be performed in the dead of winter. Never mind the practicality issues around frozen hoses and water lines. Needless to say the book was responsibly recycled despite my fondness for the person that gifted it to me. Thanks again for your continued coverage.

I grew up in a fundamentalist church and heard about that book growing up because the adults would talk about it and recommend it to other parents. I'm not at all surprised that this was the type of content inside of it. I'm glad those children are safe now and hope they are given the resources needed to work through all of the abuse they had to endure 💔

Couple of points: I remember learning in developmental psychology about the four types of parenting. There is permissive, neglectful, authoritative, and authoritarian. These women are guilty of authoritarian parenting. Authoritative is actually what you want. I think this is a very important thing to be knowledgeable of. After hearing the niece of Jody speak, I believe she is truthful and it seems to me that Ruby was heavily influenced by Jody but that is not a justification for her actions. I see a lot of sadism and very much look forward to hearing psychologist speak at the trial as to what her diagnosis could be. There's no way in hell that both of these women do not have some sort of mental defect and/ or trauma. 😮

Even if the kid was hurting other children, given the circumstances it makes her look worse as she either did nothing to prevent it/treat it, or played a major role in this child developing that aggression. It’s a lose-lose for her, she’s just too far up her own ass to see it
@theWightRabbit Жыл бұрын
Ruby Franke also claimed one of the kids was watching p0rn as young as 3 years old-- which is ridiculous. A toddler isnt going to search those terms on a tablet, or get through browser safety settings. So who was putting that on for a baby? Sounds like some truly terrible things happening in that house (or she's a revolting liar, with no concern of what those claims could do to a child in the long term).

I expected nothing less from someone as evil as her, so while it angers and disgusts me, it doesn't shock me. What *does* shock and absolutely enrage me is the people who seem to actually put stock in these accusations and weigh them as if they could possibly be true. I don't consider Dr. Honda to exactly be one of them, since he was merely going over the possibility and what that means if true. But...I have seen several comments where people have the audacity to advocate for believing the claims for fear of "silencing potential victims" it actually makes me want to shake them and demand to know what is wrong with them, even though I already know the answer to that. It's people like that who will haunt this kid for the rest of his life, giving him the suspicious side eye buried in their sympathy as they mull over his evil mothers accusations. At best its more horrific fallout from her insanity and cruelty and at worst it is a way to punish him from jail that is going exactly as planned.

Sex in the Mormon religion is definitely what you were mentioning. I know a lot of women who cried or waited until days after they were married to have sex. The religion emphasis on having sex or thoughts is not right, and we must always choose the right. So when the women finally get married... they can't even enjoy having sex because of years of being brain washed on how bad of a taboo it is. And once you get married, everybody will ask "when are you going to have kids?" I know a lot of women who went to therapy for this sex issue. It's really really sad. I wish they would have a more positive sex message...

IIRC, when Jodi was arrested, she said both the boy and the girl that were found in her house "should be kept away from other children", but only the boy has been accused of SA. Watching some of Ruby's most recent videos, it's clear that the two of them, both the youngest of her kids, had become scapegoats. There's a prominent video of Ruby not giving them presents for Chiristmas but forcing them to watch their older siblings open theirs. She also constantly emphasizes how they weren't phased by her punishments (probably cause they were so young when her punishments got more extreme) and that she had to create punishments they would "viscerally react to". So yeah, I don't trust a damn thing out of her mouth re: the SA claim, it's just her attempt at revenge.

I think that Jodi tortured the boy into "confessing" to sexual abuse, and he just did it for her to stop, without even having any clue of what he was saying.

At 1:13:00 of the Mormon Stories Jesi Hildebrandt interview she talks about Jodi using the sleeping outside in the snow and the tampon fears thing. So I think you’re spot on that she read that book. Also in that interview they talk about Jodi having dreams and visions then she’d accuse people of doing things she dreamed about in real life. I would be interested in you reacting to or deep diving into Jodi’s therapeutic approach and how the religious aspect plays in. Appreciate your commentary and perspective as always!

Notice there are a few brave enough to speak out against Jodi, despite the things they "confessed" to in therapy and could be used against them by her. But NO ONE is speaking out for her. None of her 2 million followers, none of her former clients, no one, has come forward in her defense of her tactics, work, therapy, not a single person has come out to defend her! I'd be interested to see who might write her a mitigation letter when she is sentenced...

I have a master’s degree in educational psychology just like Jodi Hildebrand. Even if she wasn’t delusional, she would still be in no way qualified to be a therapist. We took ONE micro counseling class. We end up as school psychologists and do testing and school-based counseling. In California, we can be licensed as LEPs, but our scope of practice is limited. I also have an LMFT. Apparently the laws in Utah are very loose.

I don’t like that the KZbin video not only did not blur out the children’s faces but then reported that that the child was molesting neighborhood kids while showing their faces. There is a strong case that Ruby threw her kids under the bus. I doubt that the child did what she accused him of.

This gets more and more sickening somehow. I understand irritated with kids and saying mean stuff ( been there) but when you calm down you apologize and owe to your shit. She seems to take pride in her messed up way.. tying kid seems like mechanism from 19th century. How could she ducktape, blind and do shit to child. Yes they are annoying at times and push your buttons but they are small and fragile and how can you fall to this extent. I m now wondering people I see online about parenting is their reality what they show or are they simply using kids for attention.

The child she accused of abuse is her 12 year old son, the same son who escaped, she claimed he has SA'd over 20 people including his younger sister. She also claimed he became "addicted" to pornography at 3 years old. She is doing this to discredit and punish him further. 😢

Either way doesn't matter. Chicken or the egg. They're both evil and these kids were tortured by both of them. Neither deserve to breathe outside air ever again. And these babies need to be put in protection. And given a chance to come to terms. Not like those other kids. Got abuse in foster care. It's so sad. They're never gonna get over this. They're never gonna be who they should have been. Who they could've been because of the abuse. What they're gonna be somebody new. And they have to find out who this new version of themselves is. What it does start with is the fact that they're strong.

Dr Honda, you HAVE to watch Jessie’s (who goes by They/them, btw) interview on Mormon Stories. You have to. She has a lot of extremely important things to say. Most of the abuse was psychological. Anything that made Jessie feel worth was taken away deliberately. They enjoyed reading, so they were forbidden to read. They excelled at school, so they were withdrawn from the school. At the end Jessie, who was headstrong and rebellious but also a virgin who did not even know that women could masturbate, confessed to being a drug addict and having had an abortion. Jodie would lock them in a cupboard and have them write down their sins, and over and over she said that they were hiding something so that they confessed to more and more fantastical things.

Franke also claimed the same son was watching pornography at age 3. That statement smacks of Jodi Hildebrandt, who former clients say had been breaking up Utah marriages by persuading women if their husband felt lust toward them, he was perverted and a danger to his family. I'm ex-Mormon, experienced abuse in childhood, but studies + observation show prevalence of Mormon abuse is no greater than in society at large. In fact, the older women in my former ward (parish) urged me to not ever hit my children. Franke is an outlier. I've been out 35 years and honestly don't know if Hildebrandt's wacko teachings about marital sex have become mainstream in M'ism.

Even though it seems unlikely the accusations against that child are true, the fact that she believes they would justify her treatment if him is still disturbing. It is also unsettling that she would be so willing to expose her own child like that in order to prove detaining and abusing him was somehow necessary. If he really was consuming pornography at 3yrs old, that does not reflect well on the parents. Either they are not properly supervising him, or leaving him with someone who exposed him. The behavior she accused him of could also be the result of abuse he experienced and was not given the tools to heal from. As cruel as she already seems, lying about something like this would make her even more cruel.

Since they believe lining up stuffies on a bed is sexual, maybe he lined his toys up on the bed so they forced him to confess to abusing others? Jodi convinced the wife of an abuse survivor that he was going to abuse his child. I commented on the last video about what your thoughts are on how this accusation told to the world by their mother could scar them for life? It literally can't be unspoken. I am shocked she could say those things in open court. All six of those children must be devastated.

I highly recommend watching the Mormon Stories podcast with Jodi Hildabrandts niece, Jessie. Once watching that and other things I’ve watched about her it is highly unlikely, in my opinion, that the child did anything sexual to other kids. This is Jodi Hildabrandts MO. Like to a surprisingly patterned way… Maybe the child did, but the pattern is that Jodi just decides (or is told by God) these sexual deviances of her “clients”/victims.

Listen to the interviews of Andy also another LDS victim of Hildebrant and Jesse’s story on Mormon Stories Podcast, their is so much more below the surface. Hildebrant grooms her client’s , conquers and divides marriages and destroys and shames men in her “group therapy” sessions. There is so much to this story we are only witnessing the opening of Pandora’s box.

I'm glad someone is trying to point the media toward Jodi. Those who have followed this situation for several years had identified her relationship with Ruby as intensifying the abuse from the beginning of their collaboration. I guess the theory of RF committing actual SA needs to be explored but I don't believe it! Either Jodi has been forcing false confessions again or she & Ruby are making mountains out of molehills! Jessie, Jodi Hildebrandt's niece, said that those same allegations were levelled at them, and were completely untrue. Jodi is known to focus on "sex addiction." I do not believe that boy did anything wrong. I will need firm evidence first. She accused him of looking for porn at 3. If any of it does turn out to be true, it still isn't his fault. He's just a kid.

I was born in the mid 1970’s. My evangelical mother disciplined my brother and I along the lines of the IBLP cult to which the Duggars belong. Since I was born and raised much earlier than the Duggar children and my parents aren’t IBLP, I wonder if the discipline ideas have been floating around among evangelical circles at large for decades. I came across this information on disciplining children because it baffled me and at the same time didn’t surprise me that my mother defends the Duggars and Kate Gosselin’s parenting choices. I had to look into the Duggars more. When I came across these parenting techniques my jaw dropped because there were my mother’s techniques were. Not all of them but a lot of them.

Since Jody’s been promoting this abuse for many years, lots of these kids are now much older and can defend themself…. it will help them to HEAL, now that they know, the way they were treated as kids, is not correct or normal. My mom LOATHED them and found an evangelical “mega church “ with a “special “ group of inner circle members. The inner circle members of this mega church (which eventually shut down bc of police investigations)….the inner circle members of this church loved and validated every thing my mom did to me and then gave her some new ideas…….She eventually divorced my dad and left town…..Thank God!
