Rude Awakening! Crazy Mercedes W211 Alarm Goes Nuts at Midnight, Time for a New Siren!

Today we replace the alarm siren module on the Mercedes W211 E320 CDI. After a rude awakening in the middle of the night, I found that the batteries had finally failed and leaked causing damage to the module.
The part number for the new style OEM alarm is 219-820-32-26

Useful piece of info for RH drive vehicles. The siren is located in the RIGHT side front wheel well.

While you're at it.... There is water drainage opening to the immediate left of the alarm. While you have the fender liner off and car jacked up, check those openings for blockage. I could see his was wet, and there were small leaf branches coming from his drainage opening. He should have cleared it thoroughly while he had the wheel and fender liner off. Water that trickles from that particular drainage opening when clogged can travel over to the siren and short the system....

Quick question what if you just unplug it will the alarm still work without the beeping?

Good video. You should have demonstrated panic button as well though. You could edit video and add that in as well. Apply parking brake and chock wheels as well.

From MB world forum it seems that fuse F8, in the boot fuse box, if blown will disable the ability of remote fob from opening W211 at a distance. It seems that F8 fuse is also linked to this alarm siren. Can anyone confirm on this?. Looks like I have to buy a new one. Thanks in advance.

I've not owned a W163, but they're supposed to be located under the rain tray cowl behind the engine. Good luck!

Do you happen to know if the w211 alarm siren is compatable with a 06 w219 cls ? ive gotten tired of using my key to open my doors

I think it might be. I believe the new part number is for a W219. I'd double check with pelican parts.

Wait... this thing has batteries in it? I have a really old 2005 E220 and the fob no longer works for it. Wouldn't care, but the problem is I have to use the manual key to unlock the driver door and the alarm triggers EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I want to use my car until I finally get the key into the ignition slot. I plan to just remove this unit, I can handle the lights flashing until I put the key in, but the alarm is a big problem. Now I am worried if I remove the alarm it just will go haywire and start blaring non-stop or whatever... I live in Germany and making noise is like committing a very serious crime here. WTF can I do now?!

I just want to unplug mine, my car is the same as yours but UK right hand drive. Do you think it`s possible to reach in after removing the inner wheel arch cover and simply unplug it ? The alarm has started going mad and my neighbours will want to kill me 😁😁 Great vid by the way, Thanks

You can unplug it, however it has its own built in battery and can continue to go off. I've had this happen on a W202.

Changing the siren is nothing special! that's why the remote signal of the key may not be received? the battery is new!

I'm not quite sure I understand the question, but the siren has the alarm module built in and has its own small battery integrated. That's why you can unplug the siren from the car while it's activated and it will not stop.
