@shinyribs21785 сағат бұрын
The twisted barrel looks much nicer in person. It looked kinda goofy in pictures on line. I picked one up, put on a 14x Burris scope and my buddy and I were immediately hitting old shell casings at 100 yards with whatever random surplus ammo I had. They're not picky about ammo at all. I love mine

I'm most impressed by the fact that our host is able to mount the 3x prism that far away from his eyes considering the eye relief of these scopes. I have the same 3x scope on my ruger american and I habe to mount it all the way back on the rail with the included cantilever. Looks goofy but works really well.
@williamgaines97847 сағат бұрын
I had the green version mounted on a CVA Scout with the cantilever. It was a great combo for only being 3x magnification, but did look pretty goofy. I have since moved it to a PCC, but have not gone out to the range with that setup yet.

@owllymannstein711310 сағат бұрын
With the gen 1 7.62x39 American you can swap out for the AR magwell and use AR mags in it, so presumably you can do the same with the gen-2

I have a Magpul hunter for gen 1 converts to AIC mags... It's not the same but it's better capacity then the rotary mags. I have the gen 1 predator in 308 and a gen 1 ranch in 7.62x39, I like the mini 30 mags a lot. Considering a gen I in .223 but I already have a Remington 700 in .223 so it far down my list.

I originally wanted the American gen 2 in 400 legend but took forever for my local gun store to get them in stock and i absolutely wanted that caliber. They ended up getting a woodgrain mossberg patriot in 400 legend and I ended up with that and I still love it
@Mikey-M4v73 сағат бұрын
I've never even heard of that round, is ammo hard to come by?
@dustnreichu92951 минут бұрын
@ it’s fairly new. Came out late 2023 so yeah kinda hard to come by at the moment but that’s how it use to be for 350 legend after the first few years of its release. 400 legend is a bigger round than 350 legend and doesn’t kick hard at all. Same energy as a 450 bushmaster but without the hard kick. Very easy in the shoulder I highly recommend that round.. especially when more brands start to make ammo for it

Bought my son a Deer Creek Arms Sound Mitigation Device for his 7.62x39 Ruger American Ranch. It really helps with the boom.
@mikebolton381612 сағат бұрын
I bought one a bunch of years ago. First series. I found it to be very rough machining. I used fine valve compound and cycled the bolt until it was buttery smooth. I had terrible issues with the magwell, then the insert broke all together. Ruger was excellent about sending me out a 2nd series magwell, which fit without incident, and made mag changes much easier. I definitely like the adjustable trigger, mine has a very clean, crisp break, with just a whisper of takeup. Fast forward to last year... Anyone who is an AK lover, has probably seen Klayco. He did a bit on this rifle, with a mounted red dot, and a new, magwell insert, that allows use of STANDARD AK MAGS, instead of mini 30. I jumped on it! This did take some patience, because the fitting is essential, but once I got the correct spacers in place... Brand new Rifle! Absolutely love shooting it. I recommend this as a reasonable priced bolt gun. I load 7.62x39, so I can load specifically for this rifle, and It loves fire formed brass.

@dbmail54510 сағат бұрын
Ruger has never chrome lined barrels. These have a tapered bore to accomodate .308" as well as .312" bullets for reloaders but a steady diet of steel-jacketed steel-cased tends to make them less accurate with .308" bullets.
