For sprinting or very fast running landing on your forefoot is the best. Forefoot allows you to create more power through your legs and launch yourself faster. For longer distances with jogging/ running land on your mid foot. This will help your calves stay fresher for longer. Try to avoid landing on your heels at all costs. This puts a lot of pressure on your shins and knees. And given enough distance/ intensity you will get injured. When landing on your midfoot or forefoot your tendon and calves will absorb the pressure and help counteract it. Makes you stronger (tendons do also get stronger) which in turn helps with injury preventions.
