This is a super helpful video. I'm always struggling with hamstrings, even though I'm super flexible and stretching them all the time. I knew something was off with how I run, and this video is a great jumping off point to help fix that! Thanks for the great content!

4 weeks for the marathon and it's been 2 weeks with this injury. I have no pain but it starts when I try to run. I have been training so much for my first marathon and never ran so much in my life. Dunno if I can make it in 4 weeks but hope to run my first marathon

this is great; especially bc it re-inforces landing under center of gravity rather than ahead of the body which is a huge reason why runners have to 'pull' their body forward with hamstrings vs propelling themselves forward with larger muscles aka glutes and quads; nice and simple drills and effective are great; not complicated thx

This one is awesome. Fundamental to everyone, if there was some way to pin this video to the top of the list of all your amazing content, I'd love it to be done. Great job it helped me as someone who's been scared to run because as a kid whenever my dad used to take me my knees would hurt - now I feel empowered to get up and start work on what's really wrong - rather than following Physio's advice of stretch hamstrings and calves, I can actually work on my gluten and hamstrings in sync as a system and get running. One step on my newly realised life goal of running a marathon - if I can do that properly, without injury, I can safely say my body is fixed :) Thanks Nate and the whole team!

Where do I find good quality books (hard copy) which illustrate step by step and explain these various exercises for strengthening specific areas of the body? This would help me a lot. I'm 50 and have not run in 23 years; knee surgery and other issues got in the way. I was once an avid runner and I am currently starting all over again. Your channel and videos are indespensable! Thanks so much.

Thanks for the amazing information shared. I wanted more ideas for stretching my hamstrings. I’m currently taking physical therapy for runners knee and indeed, the knees don’t have much to do with the injury but the muscles around that aren’t helping enough. One comment to everyone saying that stretching hurts. When we have an injury stretching can be a bit painful. But that doesn’t mean is not helping. Try to start gentle and if you think you have an injury I advice to visit a sports doctor. Especially if you like remaining active. Physical therapy can do wonders

You have a great way of explaining & emphasising better ways of exercising. I've really benefited from your analogies. A great teacher and communicator! 10/10. Many thanks! Alas, yet another great reason for squeezing my but more often! ;O]

Hi Thank you for this useful video. I have send a link to all my running buddies and suggested them to watch it. I find that a lot of us track runners do from time to time have trouble with biceps femoris tendonitis, which is a common overuse injury during speed sessions. Do you guys mind try setting up a video explaining, symptoms, rehab and prevention, very please. Kind Regards Tjarra

I can run 30 minutes straight on the treadmill but real running on the ground makes my hamstrings hurt immediately. I've started putting it on an incline because people say it makes it more like real running but I don't think it does. Makes me get tired faster but it's still not like real running.

My upper hamstrings ache when I sit or drive for long periods (can get very painful). Will theses exercises help that, or is there something different that I should do?
@TheRunExperience8 жыл бұрын
Rick Miller yes these will help! Also practice making a habit of flexing the foot and pushing the heel forward every 10 minutes or so when you're sitting for a long period. That will help engage the glutes and keep them "awake" during periods of stillness so that you're muscles can still fire when you begin your next activity. Hope this helps!
