Inverter builds have improved so much over the years. I remember the big old power hungry clunkers we used to use. Great video as always my friend 👍👍

thank you, split screen is new to me and I had a hard time editing it lol but it turned out ok ish. this new inverter from reliable is by favorite yet I think it will be the more robust one yet. I am also a fan of LF inverters as you know so know :D

@@GoingOffGrid101 I shifted to HF inverters do efficiency over the LF inverters. Thought the LF inverters can take a lot more of a beating and have a larger surge capacity. As we are a very energy efficient home they are all i need.

@Justin Case Solar Power and Bush Camping Australia yes , hf is more efficient, but as you can see I use to much power for hf inverters for my house but am always down to try a hf inverter that says they can do it lol 😆
@JustinCaseSolarPower
@JustinCaseSolarPower Жыл бұрын
@@GoingOffGrid101 HF would do it. Not a problem. You just have to make sure you have your startup loads covered. You can do anything if you plan and then build it right. Few more years and there will be no such thing as a LF inverter. So look after what you have now. Worst thing i found with HF inverters is you need a very stable power on your generators as backup. Thank god they also make inverter generators for that now.

Man my brother excellent video, practical. May i say this? watching your video allow me to see so much difference between countries. Firstly our home electrical panels are not that big except for commercial properties we don't run them high electrical consumption things there, secondly our homes have to be block, steel and concrete as we are prone to hurricanes. I wonder though the cost of that inverter isn't much different from a low cost low frequency inverter. Still I love videos where you actually see it running household things and not a capacity tester.

14/3 wire is designed for up to 15 amp loads and should only be used on a 15 amp breaker right? So once you draw more than 15 amps on one leg your circuit breaker in the panel should trip, right?
@GoingOffGrid101
@GoingOffGrid101 3 ай бұрын
@roberthosking7524 120v a breaker will hold for a minute or two at 20-25 amps typically before tripping. Or even 30-40 amps for a few seconds for starting loads before tripping

@@GoingOffGrid101here's an interesting video of a guy maxing out a 14 gauge household wire. From what I read in the comments over there 14 gauge is actually rated for 25 amps but there's a safety margin factored in by the NEC that advises it only be used on 15 amp circuits. They also advised not running more than 12 amps continuous through it. By the looks of it those are pretty conservative mandates. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5TGgJqVf5aLntksi=uGHsI9x8t4eSt2QN 0:05

So I noticed in the manual last thing in section 3.5 - Inverter Output Layout, in NOTE point 2 it reads "If the house neutral wire is combined with the ground, connect the N line with it, leave the G line alone. Do not connect the inverter's G line with the N line together". Trying to figure out if that means connect the two hots to the breaker as you have done, connect the neutral, but don't connect the ground. I can see you did connect your ground though and all seems fine. Also, I tried the old voltmeter test expecting Hot to neutral 120, hot to ground 120 and neutral to ground 0v (ish), but it didn't turn out like that. The hot to neutral is 120v, but the rest is all over the place. I jumped the ground terminal on the block to a house ground to see if that would make a difference but it didn't. Plugging a Klein outlet tester in shows a few things are wrong. As you have the same inverter, I was wondering if you could take a look at the above and see what you get.

I get 102v from L2 to ground bor 0 everywhere else, I did bond my ground and neutral. You could try putting a 14w led there and see it it powers it if not you can bond it.

@@GoingOffGrid101 how did you bond them? Does that mean bonded on the inverter or in the house panel? Might be another video! Seems like there’s some confusion in the forums on this stuff regarding WZRELB / reliable inverters.

High frequency, transformerless inverter like these off a poorer surge capacity and a much shorter life expectancy than modern low frequency, transformer based inverters. Even worse, during a catastrophic failure of the control circuitry the can dame your AC appliances because they lack any galvanic isolation between the inverter's DC boost stage and its AC output. No thanks.
