No hate or anything, but 5:10 as a 13 year old, an then trying to run sub 17 are wayyyyyyy too far apart. I ran 5:08 in 7th grade year (13) and my 5k time most likely would’ve been about a 18:10 on a flat course at the end of my track season (did a time trial in January of 7th grade, ran 18:51, it wasn’t a race). Going sub 17 on a flat course would need at least a 4:50 mile. I think his goals are great, but those times really aren’t that likely with the times he ran. He probably can go sub 18 but definitely not sub 17 and for freshman year he’d prob be able to run sub 17 on a flat course, and maybe sub 17 for 5k on a XC course. (Nvm, forget I said anything. I didn’t see the time he ran for that race, and how in the world is this kid able to run a 17:10 something while only being able to run a 5:10 mile)

The world record is around 16:32 for his age and I did 18 flat and I just turned 13 a few days ago. And like does he really need 250 euro shoes
