They just kept talking about the game AT him, instead of actually talking TO him and asking him questions or hang ups that he had. They just had their normal conversations to each other and had Arekkz third wheel listening. Such an easy way to lose someone's attention.

I have to stress for any new players. The NPC party members have an affinity rank. You may think they're super dumb and they suck but ranking up their affinity not only improves the level of their spells but also their AI. This was a wall that I hit since there's such a scant amount of guides for this game online. When you find 2 NPCs you like to run with, MAX THEIR AFFINITY. They get so much smarter and more efficient.

The Vita was extremely underrated in the Hunting genre. Yeah, it lost the Monster Hunter sequels, but Soul Sacrifice/Delta, Freedom Wars, Toukiden 1/2, Gods Eater 1/2, and Ragnarok Odyssey ACE (as well as arguably Phantasy Star Online 2 and Phantasy Star Nova in Japan) more than made up the difference, IMO.

Way back when I bought the assassins creed version of the PS Vita and I scoured for games to play and I did actually see Soul Sacrifice trailers in the portable shop when I had it, but being a teenager who had a job for game pocket change I looked at the landscape of the Vita after the honeymoon period and went, "I should save for another 3DS" (my last one broke) I played as much as I could of assassins creed until bugs eventually made me stall out and I lost interest in the Vita. I always remembered Soul Sacrifice though as having a good trailer with my impression being it was similar to MH. I'm glad it turned out to be a good game and something Gaijin found worth evangelizing for. If that old piece of white plastic still charges and the portable store still works I'll see if I can get my hands on it

I bought and played the original Soul Sacrifice on launch, and quite liked it (didn't buy Delta because I was kind of upset about it being an expanded re-release). I would absolutely buy Delta now if it got a remake for PS4/PS5 or Switch. EDIT: I had played God Eater before I played Soul Sacrifice, but like Rurikhan I didn't really grind super hard for better stuff in Soul Sacrifice, just whatever I felt was good enough. I did manage to beat the final boss though.

IIRC, IGN failed to review a bunch of major Vita releases, even after promising they would (like with some of the Danganronpa games), especially after Colin Moriarty left. And that's not even talking about the games they ducked points for for ridiculous reasons (like BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend for reusing assets, despite it being a Extended release rather than a new installment).

In a few month the Steam deck releases. I don't need another handheld. And those who want a hendheld do have a Switch probably. So I and and many others would need to buy a discontinued console for one game. It is fine making a video about the game. And that he did. Anyone can take it or leave it. But now they did 2 weeks of podcast for something I am just not interested at all. And explaining all the ins and out of the game gets so boring so fast.

@@zimon85 I'm not against him talking about the game in general, but besides the 20+min video he made aswell as that other episode of 3rd fleet podcast, this is just a little too much for me. I mean this wasnt even a discussion, just one and a half hours of mostly gaijin monologuing about the game. It would be fine if anyone could just go and try it, but most of us can't. Imagine someone wouldn't stop telling you about that super delicious food that you have no access to over and over again. At some point it's starting to get annoying.

They are praising this soulsacrifice game so hard and for so long now that it's off putting to be honest. It's visually already an acquired taste that won't be for everyone. And the argument, it has a better story than ANY GAME EVER MADE is kinda over the top. I'll skip to the next podcast for me
