I have to disagree life is short so make the most out of it
@Ash081284
@Ash081284 2 жыл бұрын
@@stylie473joker5 Hi! I respect your opinion, but I also would partially disagree with you. Do realize that the commenter is an 80-year old. So given the context, that speaks loud enough. Do our grandparents that are still with us live a short life? If you think you're gonna die tomorrow, or someone have died early, then, yeah, sure. But that kind of mindset is also what pressures us, because we feel like we're in a hurry to experience everything coz we think we might die later or tomorrow or anytime. Yeah, I get that, especially in these trying times of the pandemic. I've lost family and friends early too. But it's also how stress, depression and regrets usually start creeping in. But if we still expect that we will live long enough, coz, again, no one knows... naturally, we will make mistakes along the way, so just start over. Rinse, learn and then start over, as long as we could. Many doors close, but new ones open after, until life says "No more." A little bit of something like Schrodinger's Cat theory. Two possibilities that we CANNOT actually answer. We don't know if we'll die early on or live long enough. That's why I respect and partially agree with you. But the possibility and expectancy of living longer is much bigger than dying young, seeing that we still see grandparents everywhere. I mean, we will still die, anyway. So just live. As simple as that. Live your life. You can do anything you want, yes, but just be in the present, stop worrying about tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes, coz when tomorrow comes, it's already the present and you're still alive. (Okay, I'm playing with words now. haha... but still...) If we die, we won't even feel any regret of not making the most out of it or experiencing lots of things anyway, coz... well... we're dead already. We won't feel (or think) a thing. And life of others move on. PS: I'm not an 80-yr old person, but I'm a survivor from a medical illness, back in March 2016, that the doctors were surprised after diagnosing me and even said if i was even one day late from being sent to the ER, I would've died the next day. But because of the doctor's help, tons of prayers and support from family and friends, and my strong will to live, I survived. I once fully believe that life is short as well, and that also caused me depression and stress, trying to do everything I could and sometimes couldn't, but when I thought I was dying, feeling all the pain in my body, I cried so much in my hospital bed and I felt so much regret that I didn't make the most out of it, that eventually led to mooore depression and stress that affected me and delayed my body from healing and so I stayed stuck in the hospital for almost 4 months. But after that experience, I changed my mindset. More like tweaked it a bit. I live each day doing the things that I can do on that day, yes, still making the most out of it, but also investing bit by bit for my future, bcoz I still wanna live... longer. One day at a time. And here I am, typing this and sharing my side about this topic. Apologies if I sound intruding or invalidating your opinion. It's okay if you disagree with mine, I respect that, coz like me, we all have our own opinions and perspective in life and we all experience life differently. And like I said early on, I also partially agree with you. Anyway, have a great day and a great life ahead! ^_^

@Ash081284
@Ash081284 2 жыл бұрын
@@stylie473joker5 yeah, I get what you mean. You're right with that as well. Hmm... I guess we can say that the "life is long" is the physical aspect while the "life is short" is like how we see it or feel it, the speed, in a sense. Figuratively, if that is the right word? Like, I may have lived longer, I have been given more years, but while typing my comment earlier, I also realized that it's already 5 years that have passed since I was hospitalized. Even in this pandemic, it's quite shocking that 2 years have already passed. Time is fast. Yeah, I agree with you on that. Well, let's say it's a combination then, depending on how we perceive life at the moment, if it's within/being in the very moment, present (thus making it physically long) and if it's like outside the "box of life", looking as a whole, looking at from age 1 till our current age, then that's realizing how fast time has passed, if you can picture what I mean So yeah, I agree with you on that perspective :) Man, sometimes life can really make us think, huh? haha

I related a lot with this. I was born poor, no one in my family had ever gone to college. But my parents always valued education over everything else. So, since I had their full support, I chose to study until I was able to get a scholarship in the most renowned University in my country. It took me 4 years, after high school, to get it. I was very young, and I almost didn't go out during those years, I didn't have a girlfriend, I studied all the time I was awake, and I solved the hardest questions the exam for scholarship required. After those 4 years I succeeded, and now I don't just graduate, but I have a master's degree in that University too. I'm married, I have friends to hang out, travel, and I can help my parents that helped me. So, my unfair advantages were: 1) When I was 15~16 I already could read English fluently, so I had access to studying material that most ppl didn't 2) I had the emotional intelligence to set a course and not give up on it 3) I had my family support. They sacrificed their happiness and comfort so they could afford my education. Until college it was far from the best I could have, but their struggle made me really understand me how important education was. Well, I know you won't read all this, but it was good to write it down. Thank you for the wonderful video, it was very valuable to me. You're incredible! As a non-native English speaker, I can tell you one unfair advantage you have: your English is very clear and not accelerated as most native speakers, in particular American ones. I started watching because it was very pleasurable to listen, then I loved the content. Nice to meet you Ruri!

Thank you so much Ruri! I'm 21 and I noticed that I got really jealous and chaotic, and it scares me. whenever I see any success from my friends or acquaintances which is bigger than mine I feel really down. Even today when my friend told me she's working as a system analyst and makes good money it was enough to ruin the rest of the day for me (and maybe not only this one). Because we're the same age and from the same university, so i constantly COMPARE my peers with me and destruct myself. I understand that I have some unfair advantages, that my life is better than it is in my head, that many would probably like to own some aspects of my life, but I'm suffering from something I don't have nevertheless. and I believe that what contributes to such mindset significantly is the fact that I DON'T KNOW what to do with my life. There is no particular dream I would like to fulfill or it is way too abstract so that I wouldn't be able to tell what it is really. This makes me feel miserable, I get angry at myself and at my relatives because of my own problems, and right now I feel lost and depressed. Any small misfortune upsets me, and I don't see the solution yet but I will try to do something like studying more in magistracy, maybe watching some courses for enhancing general knowledge, reading, establishing relationships, working with psychologist (hopefully). I've tried some of these activities already but I believe there must be more consistency and more efforts. I wish I would start to realise fully that the worst thing is to sit and do nothing which is one of my favorite occupations (cause what would I do? I'm questioning myself and don't seem to find the answer yet). But I will be trying. I appreciate it very much if anyone has read about my current experience with my life. If you're going through somewhat similar thing, please know that you're not alone. We might be lost right now but we'll get there. The main thing is to keep going and trying further without fear even if we don't succeed. Failing is MUCH better than not even trying. If needed, get professional help (I'll try too!) and take care of yourself. You'll cope. Sending love and support to everyone.

I don't know why but that made me hate myself and feel like a failure I was keep asking myself ''what am i doing wrong?''. I'm in college (architecture major) .It was already too tough to find internship because I don't know anyone. When i found out some of my classmates already found a job i just wanted to kill myself. Feels like no matter how hard i try it's all futile. ''I get angry at myself and at my relatives because of my own problems, and right now I feel lost and depressed.'' I can relate to this sentence. When my parents call me I just yell at them because I'm just looking for someone to blame. (I hate myself for this)

I'm 29 now and dropped out of high school from a panic attack I had on the first day of school in my first class. I had to move out to my best friends house at 17 because I didn't know if my parents would let me leave school so I just packed my car and left. The only advice I can honestly give is that it will get better and as you get older you start to notice the wisdom you gain over time. Some random thing can happen that can change your life, whether its meeting someone and hearing about a job they do, or hearing an idea that sounds really exciting to you, or a business idea for making a side income. TRY ALL OF THE THINGS you're interested in. You will learn from each one and then at some point all of your best talent will be put together on top of your hard work and you will have something of value whether its financial or not. However financial value is very thin, even the richest people have some sad lives, because its unironically not about having a ton of money that makes a good life, however making about 70-80k a year is an important pillar of having enough to not worry in the US.

I think it's more a mindset thing. I'll be graduating from university in 4 months time, yet, I still feel like a failure since all my friends from uni are getting jobs, while I'm sitting on my ass doing nothing. Granted, I am trying to learn to drive before I get a job, and I have my test next week, but even still I'm not convinced I'll have the motivation to apply anywhere. If anything, I'm scared. I live with just my mum since my brother moved out and lives with his girlfriend. My mum works part time in a minimum wage job and has just been made redundant, which will take effect at the end of this month. Most her life since she had kids she didn't even have a job. Always worrying about money. I don't want to be like that. But at the same time, I can't help but think I will. I don't have any connections, no work experience, no money to fall back on if things go south. I'm not particularly attractive, I'm terrible with people. About the only thing I've got going for me is that I'm friendly, but that's not special. At the end of the day, most of us are just extraordinarily ordinary. But, I think what really matters is that you're special to at least someone. That you at least give some meaning to someone else's life as someone else gives meaning to yours. That can be anyone, a friend, a co-worker, a partner, a family member, anyone. For me, that's where what little motivation I have comes from. It's what managed to push me through 3 years of university when I told myself I couldn't do it. Thought I wasn't smart enough for it, and if it weren't for the people who believed in me, I probably would've quit. I can only hope that as I go through the rest of my life that I have people to do that still. But at the moment, it's extremely daunting. It's sort of all up to me now to decide where I go. And I'm struggling to decide.

Life is just unfair in so many ways. It starts by the fact the you can’t choose which you’re going to be born as, who will be your parents and your family.. but the best advice I’ve been going by lately is “face it till you make it” because 10 out 10 times.. you just have to. No matter what life throws at you, you just face it and regret or celebrate later. I hope everyone who sees this have a lovely day. Stay safe and stay strong because no matter how it may seems like it.. you’re not alone 🫡✨

Thank you so much for this video. I developed depression since I was 10 years old because my father was a narcissist, something I only understood now at the age of 24, I always blamed myself a lot for not getting anywhere near where I would like, because I had a good education, but I never had a family base. My grandparents who were the people who defended me and did everything for me were murdered, I had to move from town at 13 and go to live with an aunt, but after 2 years, I started living alone, at 15, to be able to study in a good school, because my parents had moved to a very small town. I ended up meeting someone i had an abusive relationship of 7 years, which ended with betrayals and other very bad matters, all this joined me and made me think every night of suicide, i wondered why to continue living since i didn't feel anything else, since no one really cared about me. And I was having these thoughts at the time, and I watched this video and another one about you're going to drop out of medical school, and somehow, it gave me a light inside me. I thought I was a dumb person, ungrateful and not dear in this world, but on second thought, every story of what happened to me, something unfair in life, made me develop a very good skill, I'm very good at talking to people, listening to them, understanding them, maybe this is my unfair ability that I've developed, that's what I like to do, and somehow, I'm going to run after it. I was very frustrated in the area of architecture and now I want to be a psychologist, thank you again, your videos are definitely a light for many people. :)

Life really isn’t fair… and I’ll tell you how I’ve struggled in life. I work super hard to climb out of retail and the toxicity of these people I have to work with, is beyond repair. I never went to college because I don’t want to be in debt but I’m glad that there’s certificate courses you can take right now without going to college. I’m working towards my IT support certification through googles program and I’m learning so much! I refuse to think that the only way to survive is to just accept that I’m a failure and that retail is as good as it’s gonna get for me but I’ll tell you that it is not! (I’m not belittling anyone who likes retail if it’s for you more power to you) Working at retail is the worst thing I’ve ever done in my entire life! and because of it I rarely find work. I have a learning disability and multiple health issues and mental struggles that I will not share on here but despite it all, I will not allow anyone or anything push me down anymore. Just know who ever you are and if you’re still working at retail and you notice that you’re not being treated the best or getting payed enough know that if it isn’t for you, you don’t have to stick to retail there’s plenty of other jobs you can get you’ll just have to find the right resources to help you get where you want to be in life. I tried American job center in my town and I’m so thankful that I contacted them and they were able to help me figure out a plan for my future. My passion has always been music! I like making beats and would love to write lyrics but because of my learning disability it’s super hard to do all of that kind of work on my own. I hope that someday I’ll find a kind soul that I can work with because I’m talented and I wanna share my story and help make the world a little better with my art I have a lot to say and I’d love someday to share it through music.

thank you for this, i have been feeling really down about starting college so late in comparison to my peers. I'm in my second term and I'm 22, I have a brain tumor and it wasn't safe for me to start during peak COVID because my immune system is so weak. I'm from a very poor family and I've worked so hard for this opportunity to go to college. I'm not sure what i want to be but I know i want to be someone who is kind no matter what i go through.
@maylin1986
@maylin1986 4 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry you have a medical concern. I hope your tumor doesn't grow or maybe is operable? There's a woman on here that's pretty popular who also had a brain tumor. Her specific tumor couldn't be operated on, and because of that, there was no other treatment options. She went on some kind of diet that helped shrink her tumor. I don't know if she's ever posted a video on what kind of diet she was on that helped her miraculously shrink her tumor, but if she doesn't have such a video yet, you could always reach out to her in the comments. I forget her name. She's most likely in her later 20's to early 30's now. A white girl with dark brown hair. Everyone is running their own race. Take care of you and go at a pace that works best for you. I'm in my late 30's and been to a vocational school 3 times, for 3 different career paths. I've considered college, because that's the last thing I've been able to do. You're still very young to start your life off in any way you want to go. 🙂 Don't let societal expectations make you feel otherwise. I hope this helps. ✨️

What if I'm not happy? I don't feel like a failure because of the reasons listed in this video, I feel like that because it looks like I'm often too stupid to do the most basic things in life. I seem to suck at most things I try like several kinds of sports like mountain biking, volleyball, waterball, bowling. I was always at the bottom of the barrel. I tried to become an oil engineer in university and it was a horrible fail. Okay I clearly needed to try something different. I tried to become a translator. I was doing better there but still failed even after years of trying to learn shit. After that I tried to learn programming and I felt more lost than ever. I felt so freaking embarassed in front of the other students. I literally couldn't imagine it was possible to be this bad at something. Even a friend of mine tried to help who was good at programming but even as he was explaining very basic stuff it sounded like advanced quantum physics to me. I also tried playing the guitar but still failed very badly on the most beginner stuff. Apparently I'm not retarded because my IQ is around 120 so what the hell is wrong with me?? I feel like my mental health is degrading due to this as time goes on and it creates a vicious cycle where I have even harder time on focusing anything due to his.

7:59 I recently came to accept this fact. People would always have a good first impression of me and think that I am "something", but then stab me with disappointment looks when they realise that I'm not him. The harder I try to run from the spotlights the more attention I get. Random people approach me nearly everyday I cannot go unnoticed. Now that I accepted my reality and try to cope with the "perfect kid" pressure. I noticed that I often gotaway with many things that people usually get punished for. In school I never did homework, in college Im always late, I got to write exams alone on some occasions because I was absent on exam day without an excuse!

It takes courage to be this honest, my respect for that. You talked about unfair advantages, which is true in a sense. But I see this more as self awareness. Loving something doesn't mean your good at it. I like playing basketball, could I play in the NBA? Probably not because of my height. This is just an example. That's the reason why we should try different things in life, in order to find what we're good at. Some are lucky enough to know it from a young age. Others try to figure it out later on. So self awareness is key guys!
