I think anxiety is also a very important factor.. Sometimes it doesn't even have anything to do with ADHD and it's just the sheer stress and anxiety of failure n stuff that can get in the way of doing tasks and we end up procrastinating. You fear that you might not get things as perfect as you wanted and feel like you're not "good enough", and you feel like you're better off not doing anything at all.. And when the night comes you realise you literally haven't done anything at all, and it adds up to that self blaming train of thought you had already. And it's really a damaging and painful cycle.
@Green7JR
@Green7JR 6 ай бұрын
I recommend daily meditation and “Shoden” ashwaganda to lower cortisol… and sometimes, we have to rewrite our life stories. Yes, anxiety will block flow state for example. In flow, we’re 5x more productive, 7x more creative, and our learning doubles.
@SimgoonArtPod
@SimgoonArtPod 6 ай бұрын
@@Green7JR exactly. Life can turn into hell if you let anxiety and your "inner demons" take over you. And thanks for your advice i'll look more into it❤ Recently i've tried out the reward technique and i reward myself whenever i complete tasks that require a lot of energy..and that's been helpful so far.

That's called 'paralysis by analysis', speaking as a person who has worked with a lot of Autistic people (including my autistic brothers) I researched a lot about neurodivergent conditions and I also noticed that they tend do what you described because they have a problem with hyperfixation, and, usually (but not always) a negative bias. They think they're automatically the worst person in the room, the most flawed and awkward when irl they're just scaring themselves. It's not that you're being too sensitive or illogical, it just means some neurodivergent people are more susceptible to internalising negative things around them including negative comments about themselves. For some neurodivergents it can get so bad that the idea of failing/embarrassment completely prevents them from taking any action. They're fixated on the negatives, and this hyperfixation can be helpful ( if you fixate on work/finding solutions ) and other times it can be destructive ( if you fixate on how much you think you screwed up all the time ). One friend described their struggle to me as 'you start to doubt you can do anything right anymore'. Imao the trap they fell into was fixating on what they feared was 'wrong' with them instead of appreciating what they can do, or what they could do in the present. They started to convince themselves that nothing they could do would succeed and their life was 'over' because they found something they couldn't do. They resigned themselves to failure and essentially cheated themselves out of the opportunity to turn things around because they gave up and couldn't forgive themselves for making a mistake. This ever-present obsession with being self-critical is not the same as being 'humble' or 'aware of your limits' this is actually very toxic and negative. I don't want to sound arrogant but I think you can get out of that self-defeating cycle with practice: - First, be KIND to yourself (!) because if your friend messed up you probably wouldn't scream at them and tell them how they're hopeless a million different ways so why the heck should you do that to yourself ?? - Second, ask yourself - 'is this thing I'm worried about in my control and can I change it now?' (like other's opinions/past mistakes) and if it isn't changeable and it's negative then bin it, don't look back! - Third, ask yourself 'where do I want to be in the next 5 years?' if you know roughly what you want to achieve (it doesn't have to be super well-defined) then cut anything out that isn't actively helping you achieve that goal. Hope it helps!

I am almost 50 years old now and never considered that I may have ADHD. But after watching this I am almost certain I do. April 15th is tax day so of course I started my taxes on April 15th. I ended up loosing some tax documents due to reorganizing my office. I ended up having to file an extension; which now gives me until October. I know I should finish the taxes quickly and get it over with, but of course I haven’t yet because I don’t feel it’s important or urgent. I had always thought ADHD was something little kids got because they had too much energy and didn’t want to sit still in class. Everything you have described in this video sounds the way my brain works. Thanks for taking the time to bring it to light.

Thanks for another awesome video Ruri 😊 You know procrastination often occurs even when it feels bad due to a complex interplay of factors. It could be a result of feeling overwhelmed, fear of failure, or a lack of motivation. Despite the negative feelings associated with procrastination the temporary relief it provides might seem more appealing than facing the immediate stress or discomfort of the task at hand. Breaking tasks into smaller more manageable steps and understanding the root causes of procrastination can help address this common challenge. I hope that long explanation sums it up

Merhaba, in Turkish , Marhaba in Arabic, i have all the symptom's u mentioned for ADHD, and that really make me feel disappointed with myself for not achieving what i want to do, it is also true what you said about the flow of ideas we always think of, and unfortunately most of the time it ends up forgotten or never done, easily distracted and procrastinate is also a stressful thing and to me it mainly happen because of the lack of focus, i test that on myself and found that eliminating certain food from your diet could really help with that, like i tried Keto diet for a while and surprisingly i got all the energy i wanted and the focus, of course i couldn't keep it up and back to my old habits again. The reason i share this is because i know a lot of people out there might struggle with this and sometimes learning from others experience could really help . bless you ruri

Hey Ruri! I was listening to this in the background and once I heard ADHD I had to focus (ha ha ha...) more. Immediately bought the kaizen system as it will help me as I'm currently launching my design company. So, thank you thank you thank you! As a rare foreigner to have the title 課長 at an old traditional company in Tokyo, I was writing kaizen reports daily at the end of the day, and while I dread those days, this is much more relevant today for me! By the way, as a designer, I obviously went to your site to buy the kaizen system via mobile, and there were a few issues. Mainly with just getting everything within a wrapper, as some things are touching the edge of my screen (Galaxy S22+). Just a heads up as I'm sure you'll be able to fix it! Thanks again! hey viewers as this year ending and new year starting , everyone will come across Goal oriented videos and notion templates etc. i just want to suggest is we all live approx 25k to 30k days. so when you finish a day write summary of it in small box. what you did that day. use your favorite note app and do it. i use one note. next to those boxes maintain a column which contains milestones, you will write down date when you start something and end something. that's it. if you need maintain goal box.. but this goal thing changes a lot depending on where you're today. so just maintain track of what you did on particular day.. you could be watching your favorite sport and felt joy.. or met gf felt joy.. just write it. create these memories.. it will help you feel better.
