He so should've taken Johnny Depp's role as Willy Wonka. Gene Wilder stands on his own no question but i couldn't stand how crappy the remake was. He's a genuinely amazing person. Very smart...kind...and creative. I highly recommend his first book....My Booky Wook. I just finished it yesterday....which was a bummer. Wish I could read for the first time...again. Btw, he titled it that for one reason.........so that when he was promoting it, stodgy old TV presenters would have to say that name out loud. lol! But the book is absurdly entertaining and illuminating. You can't help but fall in love with the guy....regardless of his chaos tornado personality.

Russell is the best improviser in comedy I've seen. Robin Williams was also obsessed with that idea, but he often seemed a bit rehearsed. Craig Ferguson and Graham Norton are other two really great at coming up with jokes on the spot.
