Dr. Russell Razzaque is a London-based psychiatrist, author, and mindfulness teacher. Russell’s background in mindfulness meditation has enabled him to be present with his patients and their emotions in a much deeper and non-judgmental way. Meditation has also allowed him to experience, and therefore identify with, the sense of connectedness and spiritual feelings that 70% to 80% of patients say they experience during a psychological crisis. Russell’s perspective that his patients’ symptoms are not all wrong and not all pathological has allowed him to have much more empathetic relationships in his practice. He is now teaching mindfulness techniques at retreats for psychiatrists throughout the UK.
