Here's a joke my dad told me about Boris Johnson A newly dead man arrives at the gates to heaven and is shown through by an angel. While walking, the man sees a load of clocks on a wall. He asks what they are. The angel goes "they are the clocks of lies. Every lie a person tells, their clock ticks once." The man looked at the clocks, seeing one didn't tick. "Who's is that?" He asked. "That's Mother Teresa's clock, she never lied." The angel responded. The man looks at other clocks and asks "Where's Boris Johnson's? I can't see it anywhere." The angel grins and says, "Oh it's in the main room, God is using it as a ceiling fan."

DON'T flush: Wipes (even so-called flushables**), tampons, pads/sanitary towels, medication.... **So-called "flushable" wipes can still cause problems anywhere from your local sanitation processing site to _your own bathroom's pipes,_ as I found out expensively when my caregiver (I'm bed-bound and not in a good way) had been flushing them in my bathroom, which in Seattle Housing Authority's old pipes made my shower drain _epically_ slowly. THAT was an awkward conversation that started out, "You know the environment? Shouldn't people do something about it? Well, let's start with my pipes..." But I've encountered this earlier in life when a girl was embarrassed at school because her sanitary pad wouldn't flush and her stall almost overflowed the entire bathroom. This...this flushing etiquette should be part of health class! Even for the boys, as wipes are used by all sooner or later! For our pipes - for our waterways - FOR OURSELVES! @danielwhyatt32782 жыл бұрын
No that would be a really good idea. Of course the only problem possible with that is that, if we can’t harvest enough of it to lower the gas emissions, we might have to start farming it, and we all know that humanity, mass farming and the sea do not mix very well. We could very easily go overboard with it. Pun not intended. Eventually we could be scraping the seabed for seaweed damaging it in the process just for the excuse of cutting gas levels coming from cowls. We are humans. man is not a significant contributor to co2 in the air, the vast majority comes from natural sources. co2 has no significant effect on the climate, the greenhouse effect is due almost entirely to water. the planet is not warming and despite 50 years of doomsayers telling us the sky is falling none of it has happened. there is no climate crisis, it's just another power grab by corporate interests.
@clinton84212 жыл бұрын
@@axeman2638 But droughts are getting dryer, storms are getting stronger, and fires are becoming more severe. Beaches around the world are shrinking at a rate that can be observed. Coral reefs are being bleached white due to warming oceanic temperatures. The ocean itself is becoming more acidic due to higher concentrations of carbonic acid (the product of carbon dioxide and water). Permanent snow is receding, ice caps are melting, and glaciers are breaking apart. Crops around the world are dying, causing famines. Deserts are growing larger. Climate change isn’t just a matter of rising global temperatures. It’s the increase in severity of natural disasters and the altering of stable regional climates at a rate that the natural world can’t adapt to. It is one of the greatest challenges our society has faced. We are already seeing climate refugees (the Maldives will literally cease to exist). Climate change is a natural process that occurs over hundreds of millions of years, but human induced climate change occurs over mere decades. And, if nothing is done to stop it, I and many other young people will inherit a world where I, as an Australian, will become a climate refugee when the once farmable soil turns into sand as my house either burns down in an apocalyptic bushfire or swept away by a biblical flood. 0:57 I've never seen a soul get sucked out of a person so quickly and clearly as the woman to Boris's left. Her body language shifts into the same basic actions as I do when I'm being told a "cool story" by my 7 year old nephew. "Uh huh, yea.. very interesting, and the dog was brown you say?" except this guy is supposed to be in charge of a major economy. Cheers Lads, that's a drink for me.

That woman at 13:45 is a prime example of why old people shouldn't be allowed to vote. She's been very lucky to not develop cancer in her many years of smoking and she doesn't care about her own health so what's the chances that she'll vote for something that helps her country or even the world?

8:50 I guess that most of the world hates the Greta Tunberg act. And if MP's need a child telling what to do maybe they need go home and let more capable person do the job. Edit: No one can stop climate change, it's natural process of our planet, all those children will be so disappointed if they find out they where lied to and the ice smelled and many animals get extinct, like it did many times before in the past.

This reminds me of something one of a friends grandmothers told me. We were hanging out when she ripped one - loud and long (much like Biden's, I would think). Anyway, I didn't know how to react, so I pretended I didn't hear it. She walked up to me and said, in her very thick German accent: "Ach, mein liebe, ve Germans....ve are a gassy people", to which my friend responded sarcastically, "ja, and it has nothing to do with the fact that we eat brats and cabbage and drink beer all day." 😂

He says "China admits more greeenhouse gasses than the entire developed world", but China also has more people than the entire developed world. If you look at per capita emissions, The UK does have about 25% less emissions per capita than China, which is better but that's not great. But the US has over twice the per capita emissions as China
@lsdiesel80252 жыл бұрын
China 'emits', it admits nothing. lol
@backupplan60582 жыл бұрын
Not to mention the reason for the high emissions in China and India, manufacturing of western goods and the disposal of western waste. It always seems to be an overlooked point.

Love it... Russell is a gem. Also, not sure why China didn't join the talks, but have to say that China has rapidly done more than the "Western world" when it comes to cleaning their act up. Ridiculous numbers of electric cars on the road, solar power is everywhere (even saw solar powered highway lights 15 years ago), recycled building materials.... Yes, there is a long way to go, but by numbers, the US is actually higher when it comes to polluters per capita.

@auchayethenoo82492 жыл бұрын
Anne, raw sewage is regularly discharged into Scottish rivers, lochs, and the sea. Typically during high rains when there’s a risk of the treatment pools overflowing or sewage backing up into homes. There were a recorded 12,000+ discharges in 2020 alone. Ewww.
