This will not work, because the Russian population is "not politically opinionated". A concept completely alien to people in the west. Hmmm ... It seems like you need to get the terms right. Russia invading Ukraine is: "A justified special military operation". Not an invasion. Not a war. The western countries - on the other hand - sending weapons and ammunition to Ukraine is: "A dangerous escalation, a provocation and an unjustified act of russophobia". Russian artillery and missiles levelling schools, hospitals, residential buildings and destroying Ukrainian power plants is: "Bringing liberation to Ukraine". Certainly not war crimes. On the other hand - Ukraine destroying Russian bridges and ammo depots is: "An act of terrorism", There you have it! It's really quite easy to master, when you get the hang of it. Check out the surveys in the streets among average Ivans and you'll hear thing that makes a normal civilised person questions the state of mental health of the speaker. It's all over the place. It's not about respect, it's about Putin's message. First up, the "mad man" strategy, where he tries to appear ruthless enough to actually maybe follow through on nuclear threats, scaring the more timid Scholz-esque leaders into pleading for peace. Second, it lets Putin argue that if he was deposed or assassinated, someone far crazier would take his place, making him a necessary evil.

I just wander and are sad at the prospect of not knowing when this war will end and knowing Putin will never back down unless something does actually happen within his own country/government. I still say people power in Russia will all police included would help. Putin cant do anything if his own military police etc go against him. How many of those police have arrested family. Arrrrrgh.
