Good video, but two details are left out. The Ottomans "brutal response" was not from the Ottoman central government, it was from undisciplined irregular Muslim soldiers, who raided and burned down Bulgarian villages because all the disciplined and trained soldiers were in Bosnia, and the irregular soldiers were the only ones the Ottomans could call up against the Bulgarian rebellion. 2 Austria did not want to expand further in the Balkans, the debate in the Austrian high command over Bosnia in the Eastern Crisis was very mixed. Many did not want more Slavs in the empire, and especially the Muslims, a demographic which would require a new set of policies, and would have ethnic and religious tensions with the Christians.

Joel Hernandez I object to that statement seeing how he said Russia was technologically inferior to britain and France during the Crimean War. I mean come on! Russia won the war because they were fighting a defensive war (which winning a defensive war is by losing nothing) and brits,Frenchies,and otto’s were trying to annex Crimea for otto. So if britain and France were technologically better than Russia, then they would have taken Crimea no problem and defend it a few months and win. See how the numbers don’t add up?

The honorable Ottomans are always portrayed as "villainous and cruel" in Western art as well as history. This propaganda couldn't be farther from the truth .. opposite of the truth rather. In the Turkish-Russo war 1877-78 Ottomans were pressured to sign a peace treaty declaring victory for the Russians. But that victory of sorts didn't last long. In1917 when the tsars were kicked out in the Russian revolution, was the beginning of the end of the Russian army, suffering defeat at every step, every point in Ottoman Turkey. Ottoman army regained all lost territories right up to the southern caucasus. There's too much historical gossip on the "atrocities of infidel Turks." The reality is, capabilities of the Ottomans unnerved European/Russian dynasties. History would hate to admit that one of many things which European dynasties lacked was religious tolerance. The Ottomans did not. Ottomans allowed different religious groups to continue practice their faith & retain their law codes. Ottoman administrative system was developed, highly effective & excellently managed. There was never any additional taxes for the minority, a silly fib going on for decades. Not surprising, bias segments of history (which are many) speak much on the mythical "genocides" by Ottomans but never a word on the countless genocides inflicted on the Ottomans. Disinformation does not and cannot change the truth.

To be fair, the western powers weren't that angry about Russia's attack on the Ottomans here, as long as they stayed within certain boundaries, the war was viewed as a more "civilized Christian" power rightfully punishing a "barbaric" Islamic one for its attrocities (the French public for example was infuriated by the massacres and oppression of ethnic Greeks by the Ottomans). One of the few times Russian aggression actually did good, as it led to the liberation/freedom of at least four peoples.
