I find you’re kitchen practices comforting, most video cooks never completely scrape the bowls. Reusing parchment is another great idea. You’re inspiring. Thank you

I agree, I like the bowl scraped

I’ve always found that so wasteful.
@jeanmentzer49829 ай бұрын
I have noticed too that you always clean the bowl/pan/jar for the last bits. I admired that; I don't like waste. I also think sometimes failure to do so can change the recipe! Thank you for good domos.

I do as well, drives me crazy when someone says like a 1/4 butter but when they add it they leave like a tablespoon in the measuring cup and Im like, well that is no longer a 1/4 cup lol.

@@amyroberts7248Ty for your comment. I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered about that. There are too many mouths to feed to be wasteful.

Such a mom's life!! I had to giggle when you were explaining about making them happy with meals made with more love, because it is so true! Even as just my husband and I, he will absolutely gloat over how good something is when I have made extra effort to put it together, but when it's super simple, it's not nearly as much. Every day can't be an extravagant meal day, though, sometimes we have to simplify and make it an easy cook day. Food is love, though :)

I made this bread stick yesterday and this is March 21st that I’m writing this, I put them in the freezer as you said do. but first my husband and I tried them and oh man they are so so good.. I like to make a lot of your recipes. I love to learn how the mennonite people cook. Thank you for being you and teaching me and all of us. God Bless

So GOOD to know about kneading more before adding more flour! My dough always seems to need more flour, and then it's dense. Thank you!

Hello from Australia. I am new to your Chanel and am obsessed. The breadth and depth of your knowledge is extraordinary!! How incredibly skilled are the Mennonite Community. If everyone raised their children as you do what a different world it would be because you show love, patience, understanding and you encourage resilience and respect. You are such an inspiration!! I am well seasoned in life and are either learning new things from you each episode or am learning why exactly my mum taught me to do something a particular way without explaining why and I ensure I pass on all your tops and tricks to the mums at my work. Thank you Ruth Anne ❤️

Breadsticks are one of my favorite snacks. I dip them in French onion dip or salsa I learned in Texas. I even like it in my garden salads. Baking relaxes me when I'm anxious or depressed. I also like to share with my neighbors who live on frozen dinners and takeut. I was raised differently.

I love the bowl scraping, also. It really irks me when video cooks leave a lot in the bowl, or scrape it out with a spoon instead of a soft spatula! Reusing parchment is a great idea--I have done it for years and years, and it holds up use after use. Just wipe it off. It is easy to tell when it is time to toss it. Also, one tip some people may not be aware of: before sucking the air out of a bag, whether ziploc or vac seal, when intending to freeze bread or other soft pastries, freeze it first. When it is hard and you suck the air out, it doesn't squish down! Thanks for the fun!

I woke up very early this morning to chilly home here in Michigan. I saw this video and thought I would toss it all together in the bread machine. I will let it work on the dough setting. This allows me to work on another project. Maple syrup is the best when you tap the trees and boil down the sap. I use it over most instead of sugar. I'm expecting a few of my grandchildren up this week. What a lovely recipe the breadsticks will make for a side dish or snacking. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
