Holy moly!!! Took me a bit of time due physical limitations and a few bandages as that sheet metal is sharp edged. The video combined with well written directions made the installation go well and without problems. On duct was partially blocked by some wires which I rerouted. All back together and turned it on. Could actually have a conversation, and the airflow, the bedroom and bathroom had never felt the cool air of the a/c. Conclusion, may seem expensive for a piece of styrofoam, but it’s not. I give it five stars, two thumbs up and a hearty than you

I just now installed mine by myself in the dead of summer into my Dometic Brisk Air II unit and the sheet metal panel is gapping on both left and right sides a bit more than yours is showing too after I put the 4 long bolts back up in there. I will probably need to put some sort of thin decorative framing material around it that makes it look pretty. Next, after I installed everything, I felt some cool air coming out of both the plenum ends facing the front of the unit wondering if that's ok or if I installed it improperly? I may need to put some silver tape over both the plenum insert ends to seal the air from seeping out. Other than that, I hope it works very well as advertised!
@airdave19532 жыл бұрын
Very well done video! The one thing that wasn't covered was the included foam pieces to fill in the gaps between the new plenum and the plastic duct inserts! On my Domestic Brisk, I had about 5/8" gap. I simply forgot about those foam pieces until I had already installed the trim plate. However, I had used aluminum tape to span that - twice the thickness - and feel this should be fine. If not, I will simply remove the plate and install those later.
@CoolRVEverything2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was cover and shown.
@airdave19532 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but the only thing you mentioned about these foam strips is when you said "...these sealing strips..." and they were already installed on the ducts! There was no mention of them when unpacking everything at the beginning of the video. THAT would have been important for me, , and possibly others, for an explanation for what those strips were for AND show them already installed on the ducts! My airflow did NOT fit snugly as shown. Had I been shown about the importance of this step, I would have installed them! What I did was simply use aluminum tape to span the gap between the airflow and the ducts. Hopefully that will work. If not, I will have to tear it apart and insert those at a later time.

Those dump vents drastically reduce the amount of air that can get in to the Rv.
@the_ap_15612 ай бұрын
What happens with the air dump vent? Looks like the unit blocked it off. Is that no longer usable?
@CoolRVEverything2 ай бұрын
@@the_ap_1561 Correct, the direct dump is not that efficient to get the air evenly throughout the coach and as the allowed pass through vents are smaller in total size from the ducting system, it reduces the air volume into the coach.

It's actually 20 inch pounds for the lag bolts. I followed your instructions on 40 inch pounds and pulled the thing you screw the lag bolt into THROUGH the AC. Before I installed mine...I laid it out on the kitchen counter and realized that the design is not good. It allows substantial air to escape due to the two plastic pieces being considerably wider that the mating foam surface. I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned. When I go to install it...I will do whatever it takes to prevent air from escaping prior to re-assembling everything.

Good afternoon, unfortunately with the Dometic units yes, the plastic insert may be a little longer and need additional tape to cover any remaining holes to prevent air loss. The ducting in some rvs is not quite where it needs to be. This seems to be an issue related to ceiling assemblies for a Dometic AC.
