The only problem I see is everyone I know who has a Forest River RV has problems with their rig.

I'm old and may have two more seasons left to travel hauling our 2014 Forest River Sandpiper around with a 2002 f250. They are both in better shape than I am, but I would still hang on to them rather than buy new. They both have been maintained and repaired as needed. I know what I have and am not interested in new models. Safe travels and good health.

Wow! Mr. WingMan. I am not an RV trailer but I am an RV Camper. I own a 2021 2500 series I purchased out right and it came with some leak problems I have. I also built my own van due to the many over price camper vans out there. Now when I hear Mr. Kevin talk about the possibility of the RV trailer sell coming back. That will be possible only when all the others RV dealership start taking responsibility for defective RV trailer. The more owners keep putting out there bad experience after buying there trailer, what you think is going to happen? People that are looking to enjoy there retirement with a big investment as buying a RV trailer, they don’t want headache with there trailer after investing in such a big motor home. It is impossible for any dealers to think that things are goin to get better if we have dishonest dealership and manufacturer making bad quality of work on the new RV trailer or motor home. Yes! It is true that’s there are a few good dealers out there, but with all the issue with RV trailer and motor homes, buyers are doubting the manufacturer and dealers today. Mr. Kevin may be a good and honest seller that many potential buyers out there, don’t know about. but he has to many competitors doing the wrong thing that are affecting good dealers like his. The people are the key to every RV sellers and when a dealer has his reputation, it all come from the Custumer. I wish Mr. Kevin a successful new beginning and may every state know about him weather is through your channel or Mr. Kevin advertising. 👍🏼

Just like you Alan I think Kevin is AMAZING and just like he said that's why I am hanging on to my 2012 Forest River Georgetown 360 DS I have everything in it that you could possibly want in a motorhome and it only has 9800 miles on it Shoot it's almost like new. It's funny how when you get older the gadgets and wizbangs don't appeal to you as much as when you are younger and practical almost always wins out. Great video as always.

Kevin may be smart just selling one brand, loyalty is appreciated by vendors.

I always look forward to hearing you Alan and especially when you invite Kevin to speak. Talk about a power house of wisdom between the two of you. I believe Kevin is right on the money, pardon the pun with how we will see a restoration in regards to how it will all play out. A gradual return so I do feel so hopeful. Thanks Alan and thank Kevin. God bless!

Hey there Wingman. I enjoy your discussions with Kevin. He is a character, but a wise and astute character. I am retired at 62. My wife retires in 2.5 years. We’ve had a plan to become full-time RVers since 1987. We currently have a paid-off Thor Miramar. What a P.O.S. this rig has been. We are saddened by Thor’s acquisition of Tiffin. However, we are soon going to order a Tiffin 45FP. It will be thoroughly inspected by a NRVIA Inspector, such as I am. But I am obviously biased and, therefore, we will pay for an independent 3rd party inspector. I didn’t care for Kevin’s position on Class A motorhomes. He may be right, I may be crazy 😂, but we have a ridiculous budget to keep it working. RVs are a lifestyle, not an investment. If everyone who buys an RV knew that, there would be far less angry and upside down owners out there. ✌🏻

You mentioned Buffett and his relationship with Berkshire/Forest River. Don’t forget who owns Thor. So many brands he’s purchased the QC has gone right down the tubes in a few years.

This is a good time for the certified techs like me who repair and maintain the RVs. People will keep their old units and repair them instead of get new for a few years.

I learn so much from your videos and enjoy learning from Kevin as well. Thank you both! Just as a gentle reminder, Kevin, when you’re speaking to us on the other side don’t forget to look at us in the camera facing you some of the time. Why would I want “pseudo” eye contact? I don’t know. I really do not know, lol.

During the covid, people were doom spending. They wanted RVs to go camping and they didn't care if they ever paid for them. They didn't care about price at all. Now they are realizing what a 15 or 20 year heavy loan can do to their life, and they want out.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I went to an RV show in Jan 2021 and people were buying up all the models on the floor. All I saw when I went in there, early afternoon, were 'sold' signs. They had RV salespeople sitting at a desk with their papers to sign ready and calculators. I asked and was told the interest rates maybe from 7% and up and up and up. The number of years for the loan could be up to 20 years! No one was taking 2,3 4- or 5-year loans. In fact, I believe the shortest loan I saw just asking and walking around was for 7 years. So, you had to sign a contract to make payments on whatever you bought for at least 7 years. I don't know if there was a penalty if you paid it off early. I saw class B vans selling well over 100g's that were sold like that! Even those A frame campers that are really just a pop-up camper made of fiber glass, were selling at nearly 30gs!! I was gob smacked. People were just saying 'I will take it' and that's it. Someone like me, looking for low interest rates, a few years loan and a bargain had zero chance of buying anything. I am glad for it...for me. I ended up buying a tent.

So many people went hog-wild buying Rv's during the pandemic. What I saw people spending money on without question was mind boggling. I think it was a case of .... If you don't buy it this second, you will NEVER get the chance to again. I kept thinking that I will wait it out for however many years when those people will want to sell what they bought. Honestly, a twenty-year loan on an RV???? Unless you plan on making it your full-time home, I don't get why anyone would lock themselves into a two-decade long payment like that.

The underlying message, which may not be getting through to everyone, is KNOW YOUR SERVICE CENTER, before you buy (if possible). Any RV will need service! Once a year? A couple of times a year, or more! So build that expectation in to the purchase decision! Kevin's comment that it may take 2 years for the industry to recover from a downturn fits in with my comments in a previous video of yours. To paraphrase, most cycles revert to the mean eventually. The industry should top 600,000 units in production by 2026, 2027 at the latest.

There would be no problem if the mfgrs would build a quality product but the trailer mfgrs are not interested in quality of the product but the amount of money they can squeeze out of the product The only 5th wheel I can recommend is the space craft

I just traded out from a Forest River RV 2019 little Prism that was nothing more than cheaply built junk for as the rv portion in my humble opinion. I always believed that Forest was a good product but this was trouble from the get go.

Too much inflation on materials for new. Too shitty service from dealers buying new or used. I've never felt so stranded only 10 miles from my house when we broke a travel trailer spring and the RV dealer 3 miles from us says they don't know of any mobile RV techs to help nor do they have any of these common springs in stock.... I don't feel like camping anymore unless I'm in a tent but lacks a lot I've gotten used to

I was a dealer in a different industry for a brand that Berkshire took over, and if Kevin thinks that will prevent them from ruining a company, or doing unethical things to loyal dealers, he is sorely mistaken.

Kevin been around since the 60's and he knows the industry runs like a feast and famine pendulam swing. The problem with this current swing is this is the 1st decade in RV history that has industry truths are spreading like wildfire to the consumer on social media platforms. Add to that the increasing popularity and use of subject to 3rd party home/RV inspection purchase orders. Then throw in the mix the lack of labor force for repairs and expecially collision repairs. Plus most buyers no longer have the desire to fix things themselves. My crystal ball says Cheyenne will be ok and keep going. But Kevin sees the writing on the wall and he will be retiring before ya know it.
