J K we are in the midst of a recession here, though we are coming out of it. They estimate that to happen sometime next year. As for whether it is easy to find a job, it depends on which field you are in. Things are definitely better than what they have been the last 18-24 months.

Hi Carolyn! It's Dave in Raleigh, the guy living in the old Bounder in the parking lot. I just finished watching the story of Capone a moment ago and I enjoyed it very much. I, too live with a dog and I get alot of guff from some because we're in the city and I seldom have her on a leash. Bella is a rather small American Staffordshire Terrier (aka pit bull), who was badly abused when she was a puppy. I rescued her personally when she was a little less then a year old. She'll soon be seven, so I've had her for a good six years now. As I mentioned in my last comment, I happen to be on dissability and like you, I live in my RV full time. The only time Bella and I are apart is when I'm in the grocery store or the bank and otherwise we might as well be joined at the hip. I have two kids, both adults now and my relationship with my dog is in many ways like my relationship with my children was when they were young. She and I are extremely close, as one might imagine. And those who would give us a bunch of grief over the leash issue obviously don't understand how you or I feel about our "partners". Keeping them reigned in constantly and "under control" deprives them of a more genuine life experience. The lot I'm in (for nearly half her life) is probably roughly ten achers and it's bordered by a CSX and a power line right of way, so she has plenty of room to run around. I still keep her in my sight. Do these people not understand how much we love our dogs? If you had your kid on a leash all the time it would be considered child abuse. For me, though in certain situations I do hook her up it's usually for someone else's benefit. My dog (like yours) is fine. Do what it is you do. Don't concern yourself with what those people who want to tell you how to care for Capone say. For all you know those people may not even be dog owners, anyway! Carry on, dear and have a blast!

The Tok River campground has a trail that goes way back in the woods, an old Fire road, also power line walk to the local graveyard. Moon Lake on the other side of Tok is good during the week, good chance of locals coming out on the weekend to party and drive their jet skis.

Wait to buy mugs and a lot of your gifts until you get into Anchorage. Any of the walmarts in Wasilla, Eagle River and Anchorage have a lot of the same mugs and t-shirts at a much better price. Even some of the gift shops on 4th street in downtown Anchorage have discount prices on great gift items. There is some parking down on 2nd street for RV's that is large enough and within walking distance of 4th Ave. If you're able to get to Anchorage on a weekend, you need to make your way to the Weekend market on 3rd street. Great food and TONS of Alaskan art. Salmon tacos, deep fried halibut, etc. You can also pick up some of our great Alaskan grown fruits and veggies. Be sure to get some Fireweed honey and birch syrup. OH...and make sure to get to the Chocolate factory off of Old Seward and International behind the Peanut Factory. They have a ton of great Alaska wild berry chocolates, jams, etc. ;P

@mikemead23156 жыл бұрын
Flower Child, Thank you for the response. I see a lot of camera gear listed, but I think a lot of it would be too obtrusive while shopping. I wondered if she used her phone or some tiny camera in the stores. And another question I should have asked specifically, did she ask permission? I would not have, because I would not be filming anyone else, but she has much more experience in that area. Thanks again.
@mikemead23156 жыл бұрын
Flower Child, WOW! Very Impressive indeed! Now I need to go back and look for the reflection - and a little bit of kicking myself for future motivation not to miss something like that again. Yes! Very impressive all the way around including case law, which sadly I am not even casually aware of in my readings. I bow to your expertise and awareness.
