RV6 J-PIPE install on Acura TL/ Accord V6

The beginner guide to car repair. In this video I am showing the process of installing the RV6 J-PIPE. Upgraded from a V2 to a V3. Sound clip is at the end of the video with a full magnaflow exhaust.

If it has the factory third cat. Just cut this three bolts off. When I did the first j pipe those bolt were rusted.

Any difference in tone or sound? Currently have the atlp but the flex section is also coming apart. Wondering if the rv6 sounds any different.

Their was a small difference but mainly how the car felt over how it sound. But I would just fix your flex section unless you get a killer deal on one.

Okay so you're having a problem with your flex pipe on your atlp v3? Because right now I am trying to get either the atlp or the rv6 V3 everybody told me that the atlp is supposedly better for power and doesn't have as many problems with the flex pipe as the rv6 does but right now the rv6 is going for 450 where is the atlp is going for 500 I really can't justify spending the extra 50 bucks if the atlp really doesn't make that much more power and it has a problem with the flex pipes breaking too..... How long after you had it did the flex pipe start to break? I'm trying to decide which one to order today but to me the long tube dual pipe design of the rv6 looks like it would be better than the atlp that looks like more of a single Pipe design

This might be a dumb question, and I apologise in advance, but is this legal to do? Doesn't a jpipe delete the 3rd cats? So would your car still pass emissions and inspection tests?

Yes it pass inspection. Once you remove the precats. That's where you fail inspection.

3rd cat don’t have o2 sensors so it wont mess you up with inspection. The bank 1 & 2 cats have them so don’t mess with them. My 3rd cat was rusted out by the flange and I just had a shop take it out.

3.54 in the video I have the part numbers for the gaskets. I believe they were from rock auto. But with the part number just Google and see where they are sold in your area

One of my nuts are super stripped on my j pipe connecting to catalytic convertor .. I have a rv6 j pipe and was wondering if I order rv6 pcds can I loosen all nuts and pull the stock rear cat with the stock j pipe as one piece

It's not going to be easy. You will have to take off the shield on the cat. Also its a tight space. it might be easier to just cut the bolts off.

How's it do with emissions in NYS? It passes without issue?

Yes I kept the pre cats which has the oxygen sensors. So no issues or codes.

I have the Acura type s manifold. Bolts right up.

No you do not need a retune.

Any of the 04 to 07 works. Some require cat or test pipe. While some kits replace the cats. Just like in the video. That reqa cat. But the v3 does not

The third cat was removed with this j pipe. The magna flow exhaust has a built-in resonator and two muffler so it sounds good.

@@AJIMPORTS nice man Im thinking of putting hfpc and v3 j pipe from rv6. weld that onto 2 single exit HKS hi power mufflers might put resonator if too loud (05 6mt TL)

I don't have any stock j pipe in this video. The one I removed was a v2 with a test pipe. The v3 does not need a test pipe. In the video it's installed with no cat on the car.

31589 bosal is the one to the test pipe and bosal 256-790 are the two for the top of the j pipe to the cats.

I have no check engine light. The j pipe gets rid of the third cat. But as long as you don't remove the two precat you will be fine. I pass inspection annually

@@HigghRiise rv6performance is the site. They have it listed for the accord. It's around 450. I would try to get it used. The ones from the 04to08 tl fits the accord.

I have a question, if you install the J pipe without a tune, the check engine light will come on ?

Not on this car. If you remove the precats, those have the o2 sensor and will cause the check engine light.

@@samwh4775 unless you plan to tune the car u would be happy with just the j pipe. Because the precat delete makes the car loud as hell but you do pick up a little bit based on the butt dyno. But the rv6 precats comes with the o2 sensor extander which helps to get rid of any check engine lights.

I drive with no third cat. No issue no lights and I pass inspection no issue at all
