When I was a young girl there was a TV program featuring a man named George Pierrot. He traveled all over the country and they made a program out of his pictures. Your videos remind me of his programs in a very pleasant sort of way. I am really enjoying your videos of your summer travels. Thank you so much for sharing.

I went across that bridge one time on my motorcycle. It was scary with the metal grate and wind. If you go east to Rufus you may hit a lot of wind. It always changes direction east to west, west to east, depending on the weather.

Because it's always so windy at Hood River people come from all over the world to go windsurfing there. They also have lots of orchards and grow wonderful cherries and apples.

You're growing!! 20K Well deserved!! Mt Hood, pretty as a postcard. Beautiful bridge. I never mind trains when camping, like the whistle, and track sounds in the distance. Thanks so much. 😊👍

I'm hooked on this summer series especially of Oregon. If I am reincarnated, it's from someone who lived in old Oregon. I've read all the books I could find on women whose diaries we're about the travel of Conestoga wagons on the Oregon Trail. So much beauty out there, I had no idea! Actually, it hasn't been long since mid 1800's to now since the area has been settled by white settlers. I read that pioneers bought dogs from Indians for the meat, rather than eating the salmon natives caught. Settlers didn't think fish were healthy at that time. How crazy.

Waved back Russ. Love your picture of the world famous Mount Hood. Seems like you just missed the snow and cold the ski areas Just closed for the season Sunday July 7, 2019 seems a little strange to be to be still skiing in the beginning of the summer.

Great vid! All the wind blowing. Ya need a Windsurfing board and a small wind generator for the Van! LOL! The Hood River bridge over the Columbia river?!?! DOH! Saw an inexpensive 26 qt. 12v cooler/freezer at Amazon. JoyTutus Car Coolers 48W to 60W. $270. Price beats Dometics. Thx!

I am surprised that you had to go out of your way to get a good shot of Mount Hood. I have lived in the area just north of Portland for two years, and Mount Hood usually appears in the distance wherever I am. Good video!

Russ, you mentioned a new van so you can stand up, at 6 foot tall I feel your sense of confinement. When I was in Quartzite this past winter, I got to see a van that had a Fiberine brand topper on it, no problems standing up inside. So, instead of a whole new van, maybe just increase your headroom. I dont know how many miles you have on current van & maybe you are ready for a change, but like you say "check it out" and good luck.

That sure was a low railroad underpass at the beginning when you exited the Marine Park campground. I looked it up on Google Street View and it only shows the clearance going in and it is 12 ft. That leaves out fifth wheels and some others. I wonder how much that can be trusted. I have read new layers of pavement can be added over the years and the signs are not updated. A standup van and a compressor refrigerator does sound like it would be nice.

Dang Russ..that bridge was narrow..would hate to have to drive a semi over it..especially if there was another one coming the other way! That hitch hiker looked pretty sketchy. Thanks for another great video man...

If the cars you met on the bridge paid the $2 toll, then $56 dollars was collected in the time that you were on the bridge, but that was just the traffic going in the opposite direction.

Russ, Bridge of the Gods is used by PCT ( Pacific Crest Trail ) hikers. This walking trail runs from the US/Mexico boarder all the way to the Canadian boarder. The bridge gets a lot of foot traffic this time of year. 3000 plus thru-hikers start this hike, and their direct route from Oregon to Washington - is over this bridge. A good number of PCT hikers that started their walk in early March should be up in that area right about now. You can’t miss them!!! BTW, I like the upgrade idea about a Hi-Top van with a real fridge too. But, I worry that with this setup.., the only real thing that will slow you down then will be stopping to refuel.👊😎...
