@@LOOTLORD605 Right? It is STILL (June 2024) just KILLING it in games. The 5800x3D is SUCH a boss. And I've talked about this for nearly a year, now, but I'm STILL wanting to sell my 5900x and slap a 5700x3D/5800x3D in my rig. The main thing holding me back is that it "feels" weird going from a 5900x 12c/24t to a 5800x3D 8c/16t. While I'm primarily a gamer and enjoy pushing my CPU in things like video encoding (even though you an use the GPU, it's just that CPU encoding gives a higher quality image AND a smaller file, and it does it faster than a 5800x3D, or of course, even a plain 5800x. But STILL, the gains you get in gaming are just out of this world. I mean, a 5800x3D obviously blows my 5900x out of the water in 98% of games. 98% because once in a blue moon I enjoy playing BeamNG Drive with 70ish AI traffic vehicles just to put a load on the CPU. And I'm not sure how the 5800x3D compares to the 5900x while recording/streaming in games like BF5/BF2042. But, again, you can just use the GPU to record/stream at a very minor cost to performance. However, considering I do that once in a blue moon, too... I just need to get over the "feeling" of "downgrading" from 12c/24t to 8c/16t w/ 3D Cache. Right now you can get a 5700x3D For $195-$205 new. The 5800x3D is still going for $300-ish. Used 5900x's are selling for $220-$240. At this point, I am STRONGLY thinking of just selling the 5900x and slapping a 5700x3D in here. I mean, it's what? 100mhz, MAYBE 200mhz slower than a 5800x3D? And that makes me wonder, (I need to research), can I not use Curve Optimizer and PBO on the 5700x3D and get the extra 2-3 fps that the 5800x3D is likely holding over the 5700x3D? Because, look... the 5800x3D is already beating up on Zen 4 non-x3D CPUs in gaming and from what I've seen, the 5700x3D is just right there, minus 2-3 fps slower, than a 5800x3D. I just kept wishing for a 5900x3D since they made the 5600x3D. I see a 5900x as 2x 5600x's, anyways, but I reckon it's far too late to expect to see a 5900x3D lol. Last thing... I just feel like I've waited too long and now... I may as well build the next gen PC. IF I do that, I believe I'll just leave the 5900x in here because I wouldn't be gaming on this rig. It'd be a mult-purpose rig, one for offloading all my files onto it and letting it handle all the decompression with the 12c/24t (older architecture) and using it as a dedicated "bish" work PC + my dedicated HTPC + storage PC. But knowing me, in 3 years I'll still be gaming on this very PC with this very 5900x lmao.... regretting daily that I didn't go with the 5700x3D.

to me the sweet spot in stock setup is somewhere between 7900 GRE (only China) and 7900 XT, but as an owner of a Radeon 6950 HD (flashed to be 6970 HD) I won't do the mistake again. I will buy 7900 XTX and underclock/undervolt it to similar levels of 7900/XT while having almost full die, almost full infinity cache and almost 100% high quality silicon. I'm sure 7900 XTX at 250W or little less is faster than 6950 XT (still almost no match in low res high FPS perfromance in optimized games) or even 7900 XT. At European prices 10% difference does not matter in my opinion...you better get the best and use it in the custom way you want... it's like going AM5, for all the expense or you go 8 core 7700X or you better save a lot of money go 5700x ddr4 and spend the difference in other areas or save it...having so many options so close in perfromance power or price can be confusing, but substantial leaaps in price/power/perfromance can be found...

They are already working on the technology and it will only be available for 7000 and up GPU's. It's true NVidia pushed RT and AI forward, however AMD is hard at work in both these areas. If you like NVidia more, whatever my last card was NVidia, however there is no reason to be toxic. I'm very happy with my 7900XT purchase my last card was a 1070. There are pros and cons from both. My 7900XT has 0 coil whine even at 800FPS. I can also play every game on the planet at 1440P with max out settings and raytracing native, because I hate up scaling all together and I get a very silky smooth experience and not all the bull crap stuttering that the 4070TI suffers from, because of it's lack of Vram, just go look at all the .1% lows for maxed out settings with RT on at 1440P and above resolutions. eh, amd's encoder ain't even that bad. at 4k 8mbps using hvec, a rtx 4090 scores 74 in a 0-100 quality test, and your gpu scores 66. it's not that big of a gap. even less so if you compared the same gen: a 3080 gets 71 points. i don't know what you're using it for, but i sometimes record clips to post on youtube, and at 20mbps even amd scores above 90, which is considered indistinguishable from source in motion, so i really don't care much for that. and i just record at a decent rate so it's better than youtube's codec, so i'll get the best possible quality when uploading so youtube can at least destroy something that looked good originally. btw arc beats everyone with 77 pts @ 8mbps 4k hvec.

No bending so far (check after some time if the gpu changed position or not) and in my case rocketstable since day one. Also the thing is, that i overclocked it a bit (changed in the driver from 2850 to 3000 mhz, lowered voltage from 1150 to 1080) and decreased tdp (maximumm -10 %). So far no crashes etc. Will try to get as low as possible with the voltage. Some people got a good piece and could go nearly to 1,000 voltage. I also have the feeling that with the newest driver overclocking is "better/more stable").

The difference now is that in the current market the 6000 series is still holding a lot of value. I like to get 50% performance increase for same price before upgrading, and we all know that the 6950xt price of $1000+ at release was only because of the bullshit cripto and whatnot.
