This guy is one of our great talents in this country, his skill is legendary, he's backed up many others.... Taj Mahal, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and more. He was into "World Music" before they felt the need to create yet another category (that's segregation in the music business) as if.... He has done many soundtracks for successful movies that alot of us have seen. You may not like this guy's politics, sometimes they bother me but thats alright, he's "old school" and so am I. Only in this country could I have had the opportunity to hear his talented guitar playing, be influenced by the ideas that he chose to express in the music and be free to choose for myself how I was influenced by them. I love that and "Cancel Culture" would not have allowed many of the songs he's recorded to have been recorded and that is shameful. This man's music is "archival" it should be listened to, referred to and referenced by future generations. Besides all the "socio-political" benefits of exposing yourself to the ideas represented in his music, he remains a freakin' great bluesman.

Because of the very great and blessed Ry Cooder the world better places to live, this man has the God-given gifts to cure all people ills and pains, I bet he could make the blind see and the crippled walk by people just listing to his music and talks about injustices and the great greed of some others which only causes great troubles to the less well off. He wrote the music for films , like Paris Texas. He has a very unique style & tells stories about his & the world’s life. He wrote a whole album about Dodgers Stadium, & people used to live right on third base before they were all evicted. Chavez Ravine. His song Get Rhythm is one of my favorites.
