Ryan Villopoto's 2002 YZ250 Two Stroke!

Ryan Villopoto has landed at Foxhill for the 2022 Vets Motocross Des Nations. We caught up with both Ryan and Doc Wob (one of the men behind the event and the guy who built Ryan's beautiful YZ250 2 Stroke) to get the low down on the most anticipated Dirt Bike race of the year and to get a special up close look at RV's stunning ride for the weekend! Mike Fisher, his team manger back then, said on many occasions, Ryan’s sheer determination overcame his distaste for “the grind”. He must really love it now…. You can tell during this interview he doesn’t want the pressure and I don’t blame him.

I’m so glad I got to see him race and win in Toronto supercross some years back and it’s wonderful to see he still loves to just ride his bike and doesn’t need to have that pressure to win.

Got press passes for SLC SX years ago. Villo won the night we went. During the podium celebrations, I was standing right next to Villo's bike, and I couldn't stop myself wondering how far I could get taking that bike and riding it around the track (without asking anyone). But, this thing I'm not sure I'd have the moral discipline to even ask myself that same question.....'course it'd be funny they'd report some old guy stole their blue bike with a 'g' on its number plates...... The older I get, the less there is to lose.....
