Los Angeles is mostly seen as a superficial, friendly, gentrified laughing stock, again from an outsider's point of view. But I'm sure North California is a lovely place. Also every French person loves the idea of San Francisco for vague reasons.

I was having a conversation last night with my brother about all the things that I chose not to do in 2019 because I thought it was too much of a hassle or too expensive to do...etc. I'm sure we all have a list of friends that we didn't hang out with because we were too tired or just didn't feel like and now we can't see them at all. We've always known that tomorrow isn't promised to us, but we attributed that to stuff like a car accidents or an unexpected death. We still always acted like we were guaranteed a tomorrow that resembled the day before.

@Star Seeker As I mentioned above, if you go by what the media is trying to push, this is the worst thing to happen to mankind ever, and will kill us all if we aren't careful. But, if we look at the actual numbers, like the ones from the CDC, then we can see that the actual mortality rate for COVID is literally a fraction of a percent. And, at that, the vast majority of the deaths from COVID, are because of age, or pre-existing issues that effect the lungs. But the media doesn't want to let people know the facts, at least, not until after the election is over with. Its almost like the media is used by government officials to try to push agendas... weird.

I think we should build water pipelines to send water from flooded areas like Nebraska or Michigan when those 3 dams failed to drier areas. Seems like a good idea to me. Finally had some little bit of rain yesterday. Need more. To add to the fun they want us to only use electricity for power, but don't have enough so they keep shutting off the power when it gets windy or some nonsense. And then people in areas in danger of fire have no power to get the warnings to evacuate or to know whats going on or which roads are closed. It's a pretty great system. Hate our governor so much.

And it still seems like most of America doesn't know the derecho even happened.

This is a crazy decade for weather. I remember that derecho, and found out what a derecho was. The next year was Texas power down from a snowstorm, a heat dome (a what??) over western Canada that poached entire tide pools, tornados in December snow in the northeast states, and a few tornados in Ontario this summer for good measure.
