New Backed By Science Program is LIVE!

Ready to learn what are the best exercises for muscle growth?!
FULL GYM 2.0!!! bit.ly/fullgym2
PPL PROGRAM: bit.ly/GETRHPPL
FULL GYM PROGRAM: bit.ly/fullgym...
30 DAY GARAGE PROGRAM: bit.ly/3igtiIF
This was a big eye-opener for me so I think it's going to blow your mind as well. Starting with biceps, I remember the first bodybuilding magazine I read had an article on wide grip curls for your short head and close grip for your long head... Turns out that was overstated at best, from my initial tests it has little to no effect. Not only that I also tested incline curls that SHOULD target the long head of your bicep but no matter what angle I positioned the bench at it targeted the short head the most followed by the brachialis.
In terms of chest, there were also a few surprises, the first being what a great exercise coffin presses are. They actually do a phenomenal job at keeping your anterior delts out of the exercise. If you're someone who often has their shoulders dominate their chest workouts then from my tests, you should start with decline movements, then flat, followed by a coffin variation, and finally hit an incline variation.
Rear delts were also a shock and they really shouldn't of been considering how often I feel my trap engagement during certain exercises but there are a couple of good variations that will definitely help you keep your traps out of the exercise and build those rear delts!

I'm 72. I've lifted for 54 years. I was a Chiropractor specializing in sports injury and exercise science for 35 years before retirement. I have reviewed many fitness channels, many of which do a fine job. However, your channel and vids resonate with me and the science I have experienced the most. And, almost as important, your sense of humor is the best. Hang in there kid; your the best.

Absolutely want to see more vids on this. This is very informative and entertaining to me. I'm an almost 50 year old lifter with many shoulder injuries and surgeries and back surgeries, so I need the more straight forward approach with less trial and error. Your content has helped me more than anything so far. I beleive it's true, the older you get the more you need to use lighter weights and focus more on the movement, wish I knew and did that more as a youngster.

Make this a new series! You confirmed a few things I've found to be true in my own training (especially on rear delts) and I'm sure there's lots more to learn. One caveat is that your results and reactions to certain movements (ie, which muscles you activate) may not be the same for everyone. If you're stronger in one muscle group, it may override your ability to activate weaker muscles. Another person that isn't built the same way or have the same muscle development may react very differently. Personally, I've found that if I'm doing an exercise and the muscle I'm targeting isn't getting tired, it's obviously not a suitable exercise or I'm messing up the way I do that exercise.
@5250ITW
@5250ITW Жыл бұрын
Yes please make a series. I’m particularly interested in the muscle activation differences between a squat and a leg press in terms of heads hit on the quads versus hams and glutes. Also I want to see those nipple clamps eventually attached to nipples.

The only fitness youtuber providing his findings with source and proof other than some study he found online (while also keeping it interesting and under 10 minutes). The man is filming and posting his own study for us to observe. Quality videos right here. The rear delts section at the end was super good information as I had been wondering about this a lot and went of the best pump but now it's confirmed. Definitely need to do more muscle groups in a series, 100%.

You are absolutely right - this video is worth its weight in gold just for the rear delt section. Would love to see inner outer quad, glute vs hamstring activation, lower trap the list is endless. I am hyped for the potential of this new device combined with Ryan's usual format and also for any books and workout programmes he releases off the back of this information.

Please more, I'm dealing with a shoulder injury, and all the exercises the physio gave me for rear delt and rhomboid never feel like they're firing the muscle right and actually hurt to do. Another similar exercise you might enjoy. Standing with your arms hanging at your sides, hold a barbell behind you. Use your rear delts to raise the bar as high as you can keeping your arms straight. The movement won’t be a big ROM but it hammers the rear delts for me
