This video was extremely helpful. Thank you so much. I know there’s been other people questioning how do you know that you’re going to get the new model with total shut off. The people at Home Depot didn’t realize there was any change in the machine. But they were helpful to let us know that the boxes had changed for the newer ones. Apparently the old boxes were yellow and gray this one was all yellow. Also if you look at the box you’ll see that the electrical cord winds on the side, I think the older one wound up in the back on the bottom. We power washed some landscaping blocks around our trees that were totally black they turned out just as good as the bottom in the store it was amazing. I would attached pictures but I can’t figure out how to do it. Good luck

Really surprised these brushless motors aren't putting out larger numbers. I was especially surprised by the 2.5 orifice results. Though to your point, the motor will last longer, but not sure how much that matters to the average home user (I'd wager to bet the average user isn't even using their pressure washer enough to wear it out.)

Managed to pick this up last week after returning the 2700 due to not having the auto stop function. Great review and breakdown of the features, your videos helped me choose this one. I wanted a brushless unit that could clean pavers, fence, and eventually our vehicles. This checks all the boxes. The auto stop is the icing on the cake, especially when someone comes out to talk to me when I'm working. Release the trigger and it's dead silent! Love it. Need to get a pressure gauge so I can use it on my slate roof, should be fairly easy to drop the pressure on this unit to what I need with the right orifice/nozzle combo.

ryobi is coming out with two new corded pressure washers for 2022 rated for 2700 psi and the other 3000 psi, much like the two greenworks. they probably are the same in regard to the pump and motor but they look a lot similar to the 2300 psi.

I bought this washer, based upon your review, and an anticipation that the xtra "electric" power over some of the lower PSI models would be desired, and boy was I right. I honestly think you don't want to go any lower than this model---It's perfect output for wheels and tires just about eliminates scrubbing. Further, I wanted to thank you for the suggestion on the hose and the gun, and the MJJC Foamer--pure shaving cream--INCREDIBLE. I greatly appreciate your expertise and advise, given I am so fearful of buyer's remorse, none here because of you!! Also, when you follow the instructions, foam, rinse, foam and then gently scrub then rinse, it does a great job of getting the dirt off, but leaving for the prescribed 3 minutes also removes the wax. I have to nice cars that were waxed a month ago, and we are down to the clear-coat after this. I may not allow the foam to set as long next time. That lapse in time allows the soap to penetrate and strip the wax. I used Chemical Guys soap, perhaps there is a brand and type that will limit this wax stripping ability. Otherwise, this combination of Washer, Hose and Gun is just the damn cat's meow. LOVE it. Thank you.
@imjoshv
@imjoshv 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bill. A PH nuetral soap shouldnt strip any of the wax. There are some higher PH soaps out there that can though. What soap are you using?
@billh1928
@billh1928 2 жыл бұрын
@@imjoshv Chemical Guys, Maxi Sud II, grape. I just finished doing my wife's Porsche, and I ran real fast and still stripped the wax, and in my opinion, about 50% of it. I hit it with Tec, Ceramic Detail Spray and it revived what was now a reduced wax presence. That said, the soap is strong, and I can tell, so maybe too strong, even diluted. The Ryobi Pressure Washer, for some weird reason, was operating at about 50% of its power for no reason (hose was fine, water pressure etc), so it's going back. Comments on soap would be helpful. Thank you.

Great job with the pressure washer reviews. Really helps to make a decision on which to go with. Just a quick tip however; when testing for flow/pressure, the pressure gauge should always be installed at the pump output. Unless the hose is laid out perfectly straight, you will get loses, which might explain the differences between the first and second iteration of the Ryobi 2300. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Ok, I purchased this pressure washer based on this review. It’s a beast. It has a total stop system. Release the trigger and it is complete silence. I did not purchase it for washing my vehicles. I also bought the 1800 psi for that. I use this at my vacation house. Used it this past weekend to clean up all the dirt and mold that had built up over the past few years. It did an amazing job. The hose does suck big time and I purchased the recommended Uberflex house, which is great to work with. Can’t go wrong with this purchase. Side note, the picture on the box was not what was in the box. Picture showed inlet and outlet on the same side of the machine. They are actually 180 apart like this video showed.

I came back here to clarify models for future buyers - There appeared to be 3 models of the 2300 - Inlet/outlet on same side( OLD model) - Inlet/outlet on different sides (like the one tested here) - outlet on one side, and inlet facing forward! I wanted this so I went and just grabbed one. My box had a picture of the wrong one ( Inlet facing forward) BUT inside was the correct new on tested here. I believe that the one in the picture on the box ( Inlet facing forward) does not exist!!!!! Perhaps it was a 1st prototype when they upgraded the model and used it for all their promotional pictures/ videos??????? So get the one with the wrong picture on the box! Also, about the Dewalt 2300 vs Ryobi - I was just going to get the Dewalt due to this new model confusion. But. I watched both videos again, and saw the new Ryobi got higher PSI with most of the stock tips. The worst part is that the GPM really didn't increase for the Dewalt even with the lower PSI readings???? Josh never tested the Dewalt with the 2.5 orifice and greater after market tips, But from the stock testing it looks like the bigger orifice tips would have too low PSI with still low GPM. Do you agree Josh? Anyway it was back to the Ryobi for me. I'd rather have more GPM that those fancy Dewalt wheels!

I really want an AR Blue 675, but this one is more budget friendly. I like the GPM on the Greenworks 2700, but it is loud and doesn't have Total Stop and the varying output is annoying. So, Ryobi 2300 looks like a best compromise winner.

I received my pressure washer kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP over the weekend and decided to wait for the sun to come out before firing it up. Was needed to clean the deck. Our last pressure washer broke a couple of seasons ago, and I just hadn't replaced it yet. This one had great comments, so here we are. It was easy to assemble, and the trigger wand is comfortable and easy to hold for long periods of time. The pressure washer worked great and made quick work of the "TN North side algae" that inevitably grows every year. I also washed all of the deck furniture while I was at it... it all looks great! So far I am happy with this purchase. I plan to climb the ladder to wash siding over the next couple of days, will update if I have anything else to add after that!

Not really, but sort of. Kinda depends on the ambient temperature. I have the older version of this and during the summer I did have it shut off on me every 10 or so minutes after the first hour or 2, but it was also like 95° in the shade. Understandably, the unit was just begging for a breather. After an extended break to let it cool down, it was fine for an hour or 2, then same thing. About 2-3 weeks ago, I did my entire patio (12'×30') and no stoppage from noon to about 6pm since it was only like 75° that day. I'm in South Florida, mid 70's in January is totally normal here.

I love your videos Josh, but your Ryobi bias is evident lol. It's not a bad thing, you're clearly a Home Depot guy haha. I feel that Ryobi and Greenworks are equal in every way, except that Greenworks gives you an Uberflex hose with its higher end units right out of the box. The most impressive unit I've seen you test (for combination auto washing and household duties) is the Craftsman 2100. You tested it at 2000 PSI and 1.25 GPM, then swapped to a 3.0 nozzle and saw 1100 PSI at over 1.5 GPM. Those numbers would make that my number 2 recommendation behind the CAT/Active for your purposes. It's $100 less than this one and out performs it in nearly every metric. I am curious as to what makes some of the Ryobi's units you'd recommend vs units like the Craftsman what you're just impressed with?

Kind of confused a bit, you say that uberflex hose are wonderful, went to the Amazon reviews and they are not very impressed with the hose. Not sure if I still should purchase it with the pressure washer.

I have a few of them and never have any issues. I wonder if they are using really powerful gas pressure washers. The hoses are rated to about 3100 psi I think, but I typically run my pressure washers in the 1000-1500psi range

@@imjoshv Which specific pressure washer would you recommend for the do-it-yourself at home for car truck and motorcycle detailing? Only detailing my vehicles, not doing it as a business. What pressure (PSI) is actually needed for detailing? You seem to be very thorough in your reviews of equipment.

1900 will be fine for your car, get the bigger ones if $ isn’t a concern & you may want to expand your uses.

It's been a few months since this video. I'm debating between the Dewalt 2400 vs this Ryobi 2300. Thoughts? I would only use it to foam wash my car, cement walkway washing and light stuff around the house.

@@TC-dp3vv I got the Dewalt 2400 model. It's super nice for what I need it for: Wash exterior of house, rain gutters, concrete around the house and car wash. Super nice that it also comes with the tips for those specific uses I mentioned. Zero regrets.

I feel like the Dewalt 2400 is a better deal. You get more tips and more PSI. This one topped out at 2150, the Dewalt made it to 2200. You also get a 25 and 40 degree tip that will give you 1000 which is almost perfect for vehicles and other things. The Dewalt also has the total stop feature. What makes this better than the Dewalt?

@@imjoshv I was going back and forth from Ryobi and Dewalt for a while. I like the Ryobi brand better as a whole, but in this size the Dewalt takes it. What size 25 and 40 angle orifice would I need to get the full 2200 out of them? Do you know what the 15 is from Dewalt?

I bought one of the first versions of this just over 2 years ago; it suddenly lost pressure and now only pushes about 50% of the force. YOU CAN'T BUY ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS REGARDING THE PUMP OR MOTOR. Nothing. This is disposable which is horribly wasteful. I went to my local repair center today - they don't sell the pump separately; you can only buy the entire motor and pump assembly AND the public can't buy it to begin with; its only available to authorized repair centers. Of course the cost of this is the same as buying a new unit.

I think they should all be the updated one now. But if you look under the cover by the pump you will see a little black plastic piece and that is the total stop.

KS I asked the same question. I spoke to 2 or 3 diffent people at Ryobi and they said the 2300 psi model did not have the "total stop system" only their smaller models, I was totally baffled. I went ahead and purchased one anyway (same model numnber 142300) and the box even showed a picture of the old model. Well, it was the new model inside, with the total stop feature etc. I actually calle Ryobi back to let them know that their people need a heads up about this new model. Strange.
