This little band saw has turned out to be the best tool purchase I've ever made kzbin.infoUgkx5ZrqmYO2uJq_nuU8TopyWxVzn8vqmPUL Once doing the set-up as per the included suggestions, this table top tool has been my go-to saw ever since (8 months as of this review). There are few things I wouldn't attempt with this saw. It takes up much less space than my table saw yet delivers twice as much punch. I've used it to create slices of wood no thicker than an 1/16th of inch by using the POWERTEC BS900RF Rip Fence. For small shop projects this tool can't be beat.

I have one of these too But the ON switch I converted it with a Foot Paddle Switch, just like what you'll see in the Singer Electric Sewing machine 😜 yeah I did that on purpose for safety reasons. If anything goes wrong I can just release my foot off the paddle and the band saw machine will automatically turned off.

@@livefreeandtoolon yeah, after I did that I have full control of my band saw machine. And I also got it all figured out how to get it on variable speed with doing some slight modifications. Man that's a good idea! 💡 Hell! I'm gonna try that thing!!! Why not!!! I have a lot of Electric foot paddle switch stocked at home, I got some parts from my grandma's old singer sewing machine maybe if I could figure out a good way to modify my Ryobi and my Dewalt Band Saw! Yeah! After all this years of owning a machines I have not ever thought of that!

This was the best video I"ve seen yet on this saw. (Iwish it was cheaper in Canada; goes for $195.00 here at Home Depot. I appreciated you demonstrating with the 2X4 and 4X4. It was good to see one in action. I just returned one of these to the store; the reason being the table was in terrible shape, with gouges and deep scratches and some that looked like corrosion near the blade hole. I'm thinking about whether I should try again. But you educated me on what the capabilities of this saw really are,; good job. I'll maybe reconsider this purchase. I'd like to think that Ryobi has a handle on its quality control, with regard to the condition of the parts; that's the main issue for me right now.

Yeah, I noticed on my Ryobi bandsaw that the knob that controls the depth of cut will spin tightly, but the gear that it’s supposed to be turning, will not actually engage the slot, or it might be that the slot has no play on it, and need some WD-40.

I have to admit I'm scared to buy anything from these guys now. I bought a wood router and immediately taking it out of the box I could see the on/off switch was even garbage and poor quality. Using the tool was even worse. I bought a Makita one and love it. Now it sits there cuz I'm too lazy to put it on Kijiji. I'm very nervous of this company. thank you for this review and maybe I'll take another chance.

Sorry for this clarifying question but are you saying that because you're unhappy with the machine preforms or because it's already such an inexpensive machine (relatively) that it would be better to upgrade now? I don’t know about “like butter”, you could definitely hear the motor and blade bog down on both the 2x4 and 4x4. Also the edge on your circle was pretty rough. Not sure what the factory blade specs are, but that cut was anything but smooth. It’s fine for a $175 saw, but let’s be real. It does NOT cut like butter.
