Ryobi One+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Attachment Capable Brushless String Trimmer P20101BTL. www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-One...
Thank you to Ryobi and The Home Depot for providing this sample.
This is a review of the Ryobi Ryobi One+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Attachment Capable Brushless String Trimmer P20101BTL. If you already own the Ryobi 18v batteries, this is a great way to get into the Expand-it line of products, which allows you to quickly attach a number of different tools into one power head. As a stand alone string trimmer, it was the easiest one I have ever assembled. The trimmer has two speeds. One unique thing about this trimmer, is that the handle has an angle to it that makes it easy to use from one side of your body and not the other. The trimmer has enough power, even at the low speed, to trim most everything you will need in your back yard. I did find that I was unable to advance and cut the string at the slow speed. I had to switch to high speed to get the string to cut. If you are looking for a trimmer alone, I find the Ryobi Brushless 18v trimmer P2009A to be a better stand alone trimmer, but you cannot attach the Expand-it products to that unit.

I love mine. It’s a beast. I can’t usually edge 300’ of sidewalk with the expand it attachment, then switch to the weed eater and weed eat everything that needs it using one 4ah battery. I run mine on the slower speed, as it seems to work fine for whatever I need it to do.

Great review and comparison to the older model. I have many Ryobi products, even a small pressure washer. Never have had an issues. Don't own any Milwaukee battery products, but have just about all of the DeWalt 20volt stuff the make. The Ryobi seems to be just as good, for a lot less money. Excellent job!

Dewalt is good stuff, but I already have the Ryobi 18v + 40v, and the Milwaukee 12 & 18v, and now some Makita stuff. I need another battery system like a kick in the crotch.

Just got one without the battery, but my bigger batteries are at a friends house where I'm doing work, so I had to try it with the small batteries that came with a couple of my drills. And you're right, they are almost useless on this trimmer. If the battery wasn't freshly charged, the trimmer just sputtered on and off. Worked for a couple of minutes with a fresh battery on low. I'll have to see how it does when I bring one of my larger batteries home next week. Wish they had the older version at the store when I went. This was actually the cheapest one they had a $79, and I had $50 for some previous online order issues I had, so can't complain until I see how it goes with those batteries at least. Good review.

I agree, at the price they sell at, they are really hard to beat. I have been using Ryobi for a long time and they work great. Not as great as my Milwaukee, but for the price difference, I would get the Ryobi.

I'm guessing that's why the expand it version the MSRP of the Expand It version dropped $20. I was wondering why a seemingly more capable tool would be less expensive and this video solved it! Thanks

You said you were using the Milwaukee M18 trimmer. In your opinion which one gives you better overall performance, and quality. I have one impact, blower, drill hammer from Milwaukee and a small 200 set for ryobi. So this will dictate what line I continue to use. Battery power and how long they last is also a factor. Any advice. Both have the exchangeable parts for the trimmer to convert to tree saw etc. Been debating both for 3 days

One question the head where you feed the string into how can you replace it in other words remove it so I can add a universal blade to it. I hate the plastic ones they give you with it.

I would be able to use this over my whole 3/4 acre yard, no problem. It would take two of the 4ah batteries or one of the 9ah batteries. I have been using battery operated trimmers for over a decade.

Depends on the model. Some are bump feed and some auto feed. I do not like the auto feed because it dispenses string even when you don't want it to.

*I have several battery operated trimmers/hedgers and this is one of the best units I’ve used.🍀 **allabout.wiki/Lithium** It was easy to assemble and the initial battery charge was quick.The features that are the most important to me are the adjustable shaft, the line advance feed button and it's quieter than gas and quieter than my other battery trimmers. I also like that the battery is interchangeable with other Craftsman yard tools.This unit has a good weight balance. The trimmer weight doesn't pull on my arms and shoulders and I don't feel as if I'm fighting to keep the trimmer head off the ground. I'm tall for a female but my son is much taller than me. He helps me with my yard work and he can adjust the pole length for his comfort when he is using it and I can do the same when I use it. This is such a nice improvement over my older trimmers. My Dad who is over 70 also helps with the yard work at times. He has always used gas trimmers and I talked him into trying this. He was skeptical at first as this was the first battery operated trimmer he's tried and he was really impressed with how easy it was to use without having to mix and check oil, gas, etc.The battery charges quickly and holds a charge when not in use. After the first use, I charged the battery and when I went to use it two weeks later the battery was still at full strength.This is a really good trimmer. It’s easy to adjust for different users and it does an excellent job of cutting and handling grass and weeds.*

Spent way too much time on the string cut off. Who cares if it is a little long it will wear down in a few minutes anyway. I would have rather you talked about attachment and how they work in that time.
@FernbarkFrist
@FernbarkFrist 3 жыл бұрын
I care if it is a little long, because it is noisy and slows down the spin rate of the trimmer for a while.
