This game is pretty good at indicating its secrets, you can always see a few stray bananas as a hint. Like that secret you missed in the wall with Enguarde in the first level before you realized you can do the charge move. 😏

Once you beat it you'll have to go back for missed bonus coins in order to unlock all the lost world levels. You should stream the wrap up to save yourself the headache of how hard some bonus rooms are to find

You are close to where I stopped playing from the old cartridge days. It wasn't forgiving to be stuck on a level with little to no lives, as it would only save to the cartridge save location. I must have died so many times trying to just break that level peak where you are close to now. Certainly wasn't completionist back when I was 10. Great game with so much frustration growing up! Also, sly tip with the spider buddy. You can hold up or down when you fire either of his webs to angle the shots up or down. The curve is pretty dramatic and it helps rush those stages a lot faster, or navigate high and low much easier.

should of try swanky kong quiz for free lives XD lil bit of DKC2 trivia questions..they're not too hard...also some levels were farmable for quick lives too if you rly needed them.....the hardest levels were those thorny plants one....especially Squawk + wind in the secret world...toxic tower with rattly is def rough too to be honest.........DKC3 has more unforgiving levels(2 of them being in the secret world)......that rocket with fuel collecting.....and that awful birdy escort with ellie when it goes rampage and doesn't stop running

1:38 so relatable! Those starfish have a janky hitbox lol. I can’t help but compare them to those Starfish enemies from Sonic 2 - Metropolis Zone 33:15 This is how I first discovered you can do the power spring with the snake guy. I died numerous times here until I figured it out. The music in this stage makes up for it though!

It wasn't that the starfish has a janky hitbox, but rather that he hit the starfish just after Enguarde's attack hitbox had ended. Enguarde isn't invincible, and does have cooldown with his attack.

15:52 Although I remember struggling with this part, I remember this part playing during the climax of the track and just feeling so determined. This level essentially dictating your pace is what does it, but I would bet my right nut this was intended. Although there are cooler levels across the series, this, to me, is peak DKC. The preceding part is great too, throughout the level they hint at you that there's stuff offscreen to pay attention to, but with the DK barrel just off the side of the screen taunting you while you dodge some Zingers thinking "boy do I need that barrel" is easily one of my favorite moments from this game. Fucking masterpiece, in every facet.

Yeah, the Toxic Tower is quite memorable... That rising poison looks scary indeed. But when you reach the checkpoint the level turns a whole lot easier. From my experience, Chain Link Chamber is more challenging, due to all the enemies (especially Zingers and Kutlasses, plus those freakin' gray Klobbers that make you drop lives) and the fact that you can easily skip the checkpoint if you climb too fast PS: New name for Enguarde the swordfish: Seamore. XD

Good run! Rare always had some solid level design in their games (some infuriating, yes, but overall they knew how to make good levels)! Some secrets are so easy to miss if you're playing this blind. I really hope Ryu plays Donkey Kong Country 3 eventually for the channel. Personally, I think 2 is the better game overall, but 3 is very good as well!
