I went from a 1000s to an XP turbo...and I agree with everything you said. I always tell people that the S was a billy goat (quick, agile, and a point and shoot kind of machine) and the xp is a mountain lion (fast, powerful and maneuverable... Takes a lot more work in the tight stuff though). The S just was limited on suspension and stability for me
@patd4u25 жыл бұрын
Very good comparison of the two, I have a four seat RZR that I take out with the grandkids, I don't need a turbo either, I did upgrade the springs with shock therapy springs, I called them up and told them how I ride rocky trails going slow, they sent me some springs that were absolutely fantastic huge difference between those springs and the stock springs for comfort, I can ride all day without getting very tired now. That is one upgrade I would highly recommend.

I have a 2016 RZR 1000 S and I freaking love it! It an absolute beast on trails especially tighter trails. But every time I get hung up or can’t make a certain part of a trail it has been due to ground clearance. It’s my first SXS and absolutely love it but we have become very serious about riding and I think I’m going to go with the XP soon.

I’ve never owned a sxs, but I’m 40, been riding dirt bikes, 3 wheelers, & 4 wheelers since I was 5 yrs old. I’m in central PA mountains area, it’s a mix of every type of terrain except desert. I’ve been ready to buy the 1000s, the next day the 1000xp, next day the 1000s, & so on. This video has got to be one of the best from an actual owner of both. I’m pulling my hair out trying to decide. I tend to buy something & hang on to it until I either pass it on to a family member or it’s on it’s way to a scrap pile, so I’m really trying not to buy the wrong one if that’s even possible. I said all that to say thank you for this video! As of this moment I’m probably going to buy the 1000XP. Until tomorrow....

@@rudyshoplopez7366 I feel ya, it’s so tough to drop that much money & hope you’re making the right choice. I ended up with a rzr 1000xp. I will say my only regret is that I didn’t get a 4 seater to take my kids. They have dirt bikes so they can go with us but I’m in the northeast & winters can be rough at times. There’s a lot of times I wanted to go riding but because of either snow or the temperature, the kids couldn’t ride their bikes so we wouldn’t go. 4 seater would’ve been nice to have. There’s a lot of choices, they all have advantages. No matter what you get, you will have fun when you’re out riding. Good luck

Hey Central Bama offroad! I've been looking into getting an off-road vehicle. I'm currently looking into getting more pay and with that I'm thinking about getting an off-road vehicle. I have a Jeep but it's not meant for the type of operating that I want to do, where a RZR is more of the range I want to go for. I've been looking at the RZR 1000 XP because it's exactly what I would be interested in getting into. I'm more or less still kind of new to off-roading when it comes to trails and stuff, but not so new that I wouldn't be interested in doing some pretty extravagant stuff. Honestly the first couple things I think I'm going to do when I get an RZR is likely go off roading locally, get a couple accessories that way if I get lost I can call for help. but mainly, it's just going to be going on Trails off-roading on trails I'm going fast going sightseeing. then I guess once I get a little bit more experience under my belt, I'll go do mud running and you know dune racing and group off-roading. Along with some other stuff like maybe rock crawling. But I've been looking around for videos to try and give me some more information on the 1000 XP and honestly I think it's the vehicle that I'm going to get. It's the type of vehicle I think I need but I just wanted to make this comment to see if you would point me in the right direction cuz I still feel kind of lost. Cuz all I want is a RZR that I can do pretty much everything with and not have to do anything extra and one that I can buy some accessories for. I think that the RZR 1000 XP would be a perfect thing for me but I don't know I still got a while before I go and buy it.

Holden McGroin I agree. Hopefully that’s the point I made in the vid. They can both do whatever you want them to do depending on what you want to do. I will say tho, I really enjoy the xp for what we do. For me, it’s the better platform to start with, may be different for someone else. Thanks

I live up in Bremen about 10 mins from Stoney. I just bought my son a RZR 170 and I’m getting me a RZR soon so I can ride with him. Does Stoney have some smooth trails that he could ride in the 170? It’s very low to the ground so he basically needs dirt roads. He is dying to go there but I wasn’t sure if there were trails he could ride.

Larry Spears the spacers definitely helped stability, they were 2” from Amazon don’t remember brand but they were the less expensive ones and never had any issues from them. The S is a great machine
@rhouser12804 жыл бұрын
I have one question, does the width of the XP help more than it hurts? Do those 4 inches wider on the tight trails outweigh the stability & suspension everywhere else or is it vice versa?
@centralbamaoffroad80334 жыл бұрын
Rob Houser I like the extra width but none of the trails we ride are too tight for an xp. Occasionally turning around in a tight spot the turning radius of a S is nice but for us the xp has more advantages. It’s just up to where you ride and what you want.
