I am loving this episode. I've always felt I don't have a psychic bone in my body but I do want to share one experience I had many, many years ago. My dad's mother passed away in the UK in her early 40's. Long before he married and I was born. One night I had a vivid dream I was talking to a British lady. I couldn't remember the dialogue, and there was a lot of background noise as if I was in a crowded pub. We were having quite an in-depth conversation. Once awake, I forgot about the dream. Sometime later I got interested in discovering my family tree. Dad gave me a box of his father's black & white negatives. A few of them I got developed. One was of a woman holding an infant. I asked my father who that lady was and he said it was his mother holding him as a baby. The only pictures I had ever seen of her were in her later years before she passed. Suddenly that dream came flooding back to me. The lady in the picture was the same lady I was talking to in my dream; my grandma! If only I could remember that conversation!

this interview has been such a fabulous soothing balm for my soul, you have no idea! thanks for creating this video :) my all or nothing thinking has hindered me FOR YEARS in so many aspects of my life, I think the biggest "ah-ha" for me in recent years has been coming to terms with the truth that things don't need to be "huge" and "ceremonial" etc. all of the time.

The way Claire talks about aphantasia is so relatable! It's like I can feel the shape of the thing rather than seeing it. Though I'll admit we're not exactly the same; I have a loud inner monologue, I'm talking to myself constantly! I also really relate to when you talked about fear: is it dangerous, or just intense? I didn't realize until recently that when I'd tap into my power or feel a spiritual connection and it felt scary, it wasn't dangerous it was actually just intense. Thanks for the lovely interview ❤

I have a graveyard I can walk to from my house in southern Indiana. It’s always felt so friendly. The graves of the people my street is named after are there. The people here are nice, say hi when they see you. The library paired with the historical society for a tour and I was the youngest person there (16) 😂 The tour guides were so animated and clearly loved what they do. That graveyard has the feeling of going to your grandparents almost. They want you to come hangout, you’re welcome anytime. I always ask the guardian if I can enter and it always feels like “Of course you can, you don’t need to ask.” I’ve taken my sister on a walk there and one rule I personally follow is to be quite. She has a very hard time with that, so I have to correct her. I always got a “don’t worry, we don’t mind” vibe, like they just liked having someone young visit.

The way I think of meditation is not to not have any thoughts but to not engage in my thoughts. Acknowledge they are there and let them pass by like a cloud.

PS too- findagrave is AWESOME and they're always in need of volunteers to submit headstone pics. I've also learned in my own ancestry research that the headstone maker person (whatever their name is) didn't always know how to write the names correctly... my last name ends in "iard" but it's pronounced "yard" and that is how several headstones have been inscribed- but the spelling is wrong lol the same goes for census records... but I know for certain that the stones and census matches up to the right family members because of other contextual data (birth certificates, death certificates, letters, etc.) just something to be aware of!

Omg Claire thank you! I have struggled with visualization in my meditation and felt that I can’t do it right because I also cannot visualize. I do “see” in thoughts. I have done this since I was little, I call it pretending. Such a Wright odd me to no longer struggle to “see”. This interview was very enlightening, thank you Olivia I really enjoy your channel. Much Love….

I loved the conversation on inner monologue. Mine is also very loud. I meditate very often & need more sleep than the average person. I heavily use my third eye for visualization & learned to balance it w/ the others. I learned how to healthier deal w/ overthinking or worry through reiki. It had helped so much w/ reading tarot & my memory is the weirdest thing at times. I just really enjoy conversations like this. Thank you Olivia. Thank you Claire. Wishing the wanderlust coven a happy new year! 🖤🔮

Exercise is my meditation, too, as I also just know and can't "see" in my head. Aphantasia can be so frustrating to work around when there's so little direction on alternatives, especially for a very literal person such as myself. I love that there are a lot more people addressing it recently. It's so fascinating to hear how others' brains work and how they work around the "norm." Anyhow, I haven't done much spirit work, but I'm excited to have a place to start now. Thanks!

Totally agree with the graveyard dirt discussion. It's disrespectful to just go and take stuff from a cemetery without having built a relationship that permits it. In my experience there needs to be some mutual exchange. Similarly there are spirits who don't want to be bothered so you do have to show respect and leave them alone if that's what they want.

Oh I love this episode! I remember when I was a kid I used to feel the ghosts around and since I was used to them to be just there it didn't scared me, but I can remember very clearly when THEY realized I could actually see/feel them and they started to try to grab my attention in any way they could, and that really freaked me out... but I remember talking to my grandma (i was around 13/14) and she told me "well, if you really want to talk to someone, like you really need to, but you call their name and they won't answer and you realize maybe they are wearing headphones or something... won't you tag they tshirt?" And that completely changed my mindset. It's not like they are being mean, they just need to talk to someone and you are the one that can actually talk to. It's just that, most of the time. There were some actually scary sh*t but they are usually just trying to talk about pretty much anything. They talk to me about the weather, and now that I'm a mom they talk to me about my kid a lot. It's actually pretty nice most days.

100% yes! I’ve found that spirits are often thought of as unreasonably cruel and vengeful, and yet we treat them like tourist attractions. The best way to gain favor with spirits is often the same as with anyone else: just be a decent person!

Awesome discussion. Happy New Year 2023. Homes around the holy ground of ancestors works in ancestral craft the most. Though the related ancestors must be of same hereditary craft knowledge. Non magic ancestors are best not involved but can be prayed for to any relevant deity if present for governing the craft. Lots of love and light to you Olivia.

Thanks so much for asking about cemeteries. I'm mostly doing ceremonial Magick, but there are mixed emotions I feel like as far as interpretation of what a "spirit" is. I haven't got that problem though as I've seen spirits my whole life. However, in ceremonial circles spirit work is cold, and conjuring spirits by force isn't something I feel is right. Been wondering how to use what I know and not be forceful at the same time.

In the area I just moved to, they do cemetery walks hosted by the local museum. They talk about the towns history, and who these people were, as well as how to read some of the symbols. It was really cool, and I learned a lot. So if you're trying to get into working at a cemetery, see if the local museums or historical societies have events or resources you can work with. For my own practice, I've started having monthly coffee time with them. figured since I do coffee with friends, and I'm trying to make spirit friends, it made sense. Make sure you use stuff that doesn't have dairy or sugar though, and I try to wait until it's cooled down so I don't scald the plants.

I have aphantaisa, the inability to visualize. I have no picture or movie I see in my mind, but I do have a running dialogue. I explain the difference is like one person is watching a sporting event on TV while I'm listening to it on the radio, no visual to see what6s happening. But, I also know my ideas, maybe not see it in a normal way, but I know. to meditate, I use sound and smell. I was able to visit a Buddhist temple that felt so peaceful, I could meditate into an almost trancelike state. So I use the types of sounds and smells they had there to duplicate as much as possible, my experience, singing bowls, chimes, drums, gongs, incense, herbs and spices, the droning sounds of chanting mantras, the deep hum of Ohm. I use as many tangible items as I can as a visual aide in all my workings. I'm disabled but I used to use exercise, walking in nature, etc.

Honestly, I just finished this book and it's more like a history lesson on seance nothing else. I feel clair would have spent more time writing about the actual seance divination rather than loading us with a lot of less necessary history. I didn't find it to be that interesting and informative as Olovia is trying to suggest it.

History is really important when it comes to practicing of any kind. Half of the book is information on where the divination and seance styles came from so that the reader has a better idea of how to hold the seances themselves and when to use which technique.
