I just installed mine. Hardest part is the plastic intake top section. No leaks when done. Big relief to have this installed. That fuel filter might be replaced as an assembly…not sure you are supposed to be able to pull the element.

For anybody wondering what additive to put in your fuel i use hot shots everyday additive or “edt” with every fill up and also use their stiction eliminator in the oil changes with full syn mobil one and every few months or so use hot shots diesel extreme and i can vouch that this stuff works seriously when i took my hpfp off to do 55% over plungers i checked the rollers on the crank and there was no “visible” wear youd have to use a microscope to see any and i mean from all of my knowledge thats what goes first on these pumps once your get water/contaminates in the fuel and it hits those rollers inside the pump and either jams it up and it stops rolling…😂 or the water lets rust build up inside the fuel system and then that rust stops them from rolling on the crank inside that hpfp your done for so yeah my 16 f350 has 100,000 on it and that stock cp4 looks just like new….🤷🏼‍♂️

I also use the same! EDT with stiction clear bottle in every oil change. HSS seems they're in it for the passion of the diesel world instead of maximizing profits which every company needs to make money as to keep the world turning.. it just still boggles my mind that a known "faulty" OEM part is lawfully able to be used on such a great piece of machinery that we pay alot of hard earned money for then have to go with aftermarket parts to keep a legendary engine such as the 6.7 going for 100s of thousands of miles into the millions of miles area as its built to do. I may be a rarity but if I had my company name on such a legendary product and knew outright there is a faulty part on said product I would have changed it in a heartbeat and even offered an apology to every owner that spends there hard earned money,depends on there livelihood with the product,there families safety while on trips as most (not all) diesel buyers are going to be towing something usually or just appreciate the longevity and/or mileage out of a quality diesel engine. Its 98% American (thunderous power) perfect engineuity why not just go to a cp3 or mechanical fuel system. It just boggles the mind especially when its one of the most respected and loved engines give it that correction i think were owed. I haven't had the problem yet with the CP4 but I drive a 6.7 Lariat Crewcab everyday wondering will this be the day or the next time we take a family trip with a 10,000 pound camper or 11,000 pound boat. After $70,000 i just hate that we do have to worry about it by buying these add on features which I haven't gotten the chance to order the SS DPK yet but its on my list. Apologies for the rant but I would think we paid for peace of mind at that price not to mention such a beautiful,powerful work of art the Scorpion is..

I love my 6.7 but I literally have nightmares thinking about all the things that can go wrong with it especially the CP4 grenading. I pretty much always run fuel additive with every tank and get fuel from high flow stations so a little bit of insurance there if I hadn’t just spent $1000 on other repairs. This S&S kit is definitely the next thing I’m ordering will pay for itself when that pump blows up, not if…when. Have 80k on truck now no major issues so far otherwise.

I added mine two weeks ago. I’ve noticed a big loss in power since the install. Can’t punch it like I used to without it catching some lag. I haven’t gotten a low rail pressure code yet but that’s what it feels like. All the other connections are snug and no leaks so I can’t figure out what the deal is.

Hey man, I just installed this kit on my 2021 F250 with 16,500 miles on it. After priming the system several times and not seeing bubbles I started the engine. She ran fine for a few minutes but then made a misfiring noise so I cut it off and primed like 4-5 more times. Now when I start the engine I get a loud knocking noise. Could this be an injector that is blocked or something? I’m hoping it’s just an injector….I can post a video of the noise I’d think you could help determine what it is. Thanks for any info you can provide. I do plan to take it to the dealership but I hope the s&s kit doesn’t cause issues with the warranty.

You'd still want to maybe ask a dealership. As you never know, just because one person likes the product doesn't stop Ford from claiming that the "filter restricted flow" or something crazy and pull your warrenty... Could very well happen!

I put in some farm fuel that all my other diesels run happily on and literally my high pressure pump was fried in less than a day 10k in repairs, had to replace the entire fuel system. All injectors, cleaned tank new high pressure pump etc. Such bullshit. They made these new trucks so finicky and picky. The diesel was run through brand new filter so nothing big was in it. Maybe a tiny bit of water but no sensor or error code came up... I need this kit bad

Prefer the SBE kit with the S&S filter. SBE kit looks much cleaner and OEM and when you add the S&S filter you then have the reliability of the later.

I’m trying to access what my odds are of having a CP4 pump failure. If, for example, the odds were 1:10,000, I would probably not worry about it. If the odds are 1:10, I’d do it tomorrow.

The filter element is not serviceable. You dispose of the assembly and buy a new one from S&S when it's time to change it. For that reason I may not buy this kit. I don't want to be locked into buying a one-off replacement part from an individual shop. They should have used a replaceable element that's widely available. A real bummer as the rest of the kit looks great.
