One of my favorites. I have a 10-7 I picked up a few years ago. The barrel was coated in lead and had chunks of it coming out when cleaning. It shoots great and I had it re-blued. Its gorgeous now.

So nice to see you shoot this old classic! She's a beauty! Given what I paid for groceries yesterday the $400 you paid still seems like a very fair deal. Thanks for sharing!!

I have recently re-discovered a S&W Model 10-8 that I've had in the safe for about 16 years. So, I've looked at a lot of youtube videos to get "up to speed" on these old things. Many videos are unwatchable for any number of reasons but I want to say this video of yours was a pleasure to view. I enjoyed the hits you made at various distances, the information you presented and the various loads you used showing some differences in poa-poi. Nicely paced, sufficient audio, etc. Thanks, young man. Good score on that 3" Roscoe of yours, too. $400 seams pretty fair. If it's something I want, I'll pay for it and just tell myself, "I didn't over pay but I may have bought a little early."

Great gun, I'd like to have a 3 inch 10, I've had a model 15-3 combat masterpiece for years, that and a model 36 were my only handguns for years, always felt well armed, granted I also had an 870 police magnum along with an M1 carbine.

FWIW, back when .38 Special revolvers were commonplace in law enforcement, so were 50-yard handgun qualification courses. The old PPC went out to 60. Don’t know if I’m just seeing wrong, but that looked like a square butt gun. Pretty much all the ones I’ve seen were round butt so a square butt three inch Model 10 would be uncommon.

Big fan of revolvers with a 3" barrel. I own a Ruger GP100 and one of the new Colt Pythons with 3" tubes. I have never noticed any difference in accuracy when shooting them alongside my longer barreled revolvers.

You definitely can still shoot a short barrel accurately, you just have to work a bit harder with the shorter sight radius. And you do lose some velocity.
