Great video Rider!! I have this very gun “in my cart” right now….and bam your video came up. Going back and forth between this, g19 mos and FN 509 midsize. What’s your recommendation between these?
@RidersRange10 ай бұрын
I have the G19 (a couple of them) and I carried a G19 on duty for many years. I don't own the 509, though I did a review on one a couple years ago. Both are good guns - reliable and accurate. Glock obviously has the most aftermarket support, though S&W is close. Not so much for the FN. Holster options are great for both the Glock and Smith, but again, not quite as much for the FN. For what it's worth, I haven't carried my G19 in a long time, but I'm regularly carrying the Smith now. That's not an endorsement, just my preference. Thanks for watching.

@@PeterFusco I appreciate your input!! Yeah, warrantee and customer service is huge too. This newer m&p seems so nicely equipped. But I’ve never come across one in person yet. Now I’ve never shot a 509….but the grip and feel is magical. It’s making this decision a tough one
@jmorefit18 ай бұрын
@@alexwalker5645Not sure if you made a decision but I recently bought a 509 compact tactical. Personally hardest compact size handgun I’ve shot before. It’s honestly not worth it unless you’re planning on only shooting this and working in the trigger/getting used to it. Or willing to replace the trigger sooner than later. I own too many handguns that I shoot accurately and feel good to keep this, I’m here because I’m trying to decide what to replace it with. Glock 19 and M&P (upgraded not hinge) have better triggers out of the box. If you have already bought a 509 compact how do you like it?

@RidersRange9 ай бұрын
Advice - move to a free state. But I guess that's not possible, or you already would have done that. Second advice - try before you buy. All three pistols that you mentioned are good, reliable guns, but all have different features and ergonomics. I carried a Glock of one model or another for the final 24 years of my career and I still own several Glocks. However, I prefer both the P10 and the M&P over any Glock. My P10S has a much better trigger than any Glock and my M&P 2.0 Compact has not only a better trigger, but better grip texture and ergonomics. But that's just from my perspective. Your preferences may be different, so if at all possible, try before you buy.

Most of all, from the financial point of view, it is very reasonably priced, probably the only time I really felt like I got a little more than my money's worth, which today is saying a lot.

Surgery was 8 months ago, so my right arm is about 90% back to normal. Check my Part 2 on this gun and you'll see that I did mount a Holosun on it. If I were still active law enforcement I would have a light on every firearm. However, law enforcement has a mission to search for trouble, but non-law enforcement folks don't have that mission. Once again, using a light mounted on a firearm (as a non-law enforcement person) to search for and/or identify threats CAN result in a charge of a felony for pointing a gun at a non-threat. Use a hand-held light until you have determined that you MUST use your firearm to defend yourself.
